I've tried a variety of cakes and desserts from here thanks to my manager who brought treats to our staff meeting. For my birthday this year I wanted a Chocolate Dobash Cake. I preordered the week before and also got 6 musubi and a large bag of Hawaiian Chex mix. We parked in the street and walked over. The interior is small with a few tables. My order was ready right in time. I even got a free cookie for my birthday. Yay. Everything is so good. We will be back for sure.

This place is easy to miss! It's near a busy road and sometimes there's no parking in front, but visiting is worth it. I ended up buying a lot of sweets when I visited for the first time. I love furikake chex mix, and theirs is the perfect ratio of sweet and salty (it would be even better if they added some cashews or almonds). Their cookies are chunky, soft, and chewy, but not in a underbaked way. My favorite was the browned butter chocolate chip cookie. I also got a slice of the Ube cake and a banana cream pie. The ube cake was "not too sweet" and had good ube flavor. The banana cream pie had an interesting crust... not sure if I liked it, but the filling was great. I'm definitely going again to try their tamales!

Super cute unassuming bakery in the outskirts of Alhambra. The staff is friendly and offered me some free samples. I sampled the ube haupia and butter mochi. I would describe wild whisk as having a Hawaiian theme with a Latin flare. Item prices range from $6-$7. What I bought: Hawaiian Chex mix 5/5 Vietnamese coffee tres leches 5/5 Banana cream pie 3/5 My favorite item was the Chex mix, it's sweet, savory, with a Furikake aftertaste. The Vietnamese tres leches reminded me of a super moist tiramisu. The banana cream pie was good but a little too heavy for my taste. They even have pre made spam Musubis at the counter! And also tamales if you're in the mood. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and looking forward to going back and trying some more goodies!

Charming cozy shop in East side of Los Angeles. The churro cake ??? Superb. Yup, i deserve cheat day like this under glooming Thursday. Friendly staffs & nothing really happening surrounding that if you wanna mellow unthreatened date, this would be the place. I'm wondering people still dating in LA anymore rather than high libido & hooking up ! At least, try. Who knows the right person is someone who chooses you with the same depth you choose them in the sweet desert shop!

I absolutely love this bakery. Thank you so much, Tracy. The cupcakes were a huge hit.

I've been wanting to stop by The Wild Whisk for a while. While browsing their website for holiday desserts, I came across their tamales and decided to give them a try. I preordered about 15 tamales for Christmas Day - $3 each when you buy six or more ($3.25 normally). The store is quaint and owners were very nice and helpful. Love that their treats are inspired by their Hawaiian, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mexican cultures. I usually find tamales to be dry with an uneven filling-to-masa ratio, but these were amazing and a huge hit on Christmas Day. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect ratio. I almost wanted to gatekeep this spot, but they were too good not to share. I also picked up a few dessert slices. The Basque cheesecake was out of this world, and I loved the tropical flavors of the rainbow cake. Glad I don't have make the trek to Torrance when craving paradise cake! The carrot cake was a bit on the drier side, but still enjoyable. Convenient location and great quality. I'll definitely be back for more desserts and tamales!

I've pre-ordered online from The Wild Whisk a couple of times after a friend brought their Carrot Cake to a holiday party. I loved the carrot cake from the previous bakery in the same location, so I was fairly impressed by the Wild Whisk's. Their Churro Cheesecake was a hit to a holiday party I ordered for (didn't get a picture this time). Hubby & I loved their flan, not too sweet & very creamy consistency, caramel sits at the bottom of the flan. Wish they made it in bigger size. Also tried their Haupia Cake, which is ube and coconut layered - a bit on the sweet side but still good. Street parking available, and usually if you pre-order online you can set the time you want to pick-up. Tracy's always very good with checking on any questions the day-of pick-up.

Was quite excited to see another Hawaiian bakery open up with the paradise cake so I didn't have to make the drive to Torrance for Kings Hawaiian. Unfortunately, I will still need to make the drive to Torrance as the paradise cake was quite dry and the flavors were a bit too strong for my liking. Thoroughly enjoyed the slice of basque burnt cheesecake - creamy with a good consistency. The furikake rice krispies ($4 each) was also a winner - will be back for these two items. Looking forward to trying their cookie / chocolate cake to see how it compares as well.

finally got around to trying this place. I've been seeing lots of post on my newsfeed. And it did not disappoint. It was the ube haupia that drew me in. They have a website where you're able to order and pre-pay with a set time for pick up. I was scrolling late in the evening and saw that most things said sold out but for pick up in the next morning, everything was back in stock. I pre-ordered the ube haupia cake slice, the individual Vietnamese, coffee Tres leches and an oatmeal raisin cookie for my neighbor. I arrived at pick up time when they first opened and noted that there was lots of street parking available. Not sure if there's parking in the back. it is a small storefront with a few tables inside and a bench and table out front. Everything was clean and near and visibly labeled. Staff was attentive and prepared my order. Ube haupia cake: delicious! I wish there was a little bit more Ube flavor. Ube doesn't have a strong flavor and most places have it very mild where it looks like it's more just purple than flavor. I could taste the haupia. I did like the small thin layers, but maybe one layer could've been an Ube filling layer to increase that flavor. 8/10 Vietnamese tres leches: great coffee flavor, not too strong, and the cake was light and airy, and definitely moist. Very light whipped cream and not too sweet. 9/10 Oatmeal raisin cookie: had a nice thickness and appears crunch to it. Since it's for my neighbor wasn't able to taste it. I'll have to ask her. But the front staff said this was one of his favorites that he eats every day. Can't wait to go back and I want to try their mini banana cream pie, rainbow cake, mango delight.

Such a cute bakery! Their customer service is truly top notch! I was able to order a churro cheesecake. In fact, it was the last one they had. They had recently catered to a meeting we had after hours and on a day they're not usually open. This is how I found out about them! Their carrot cake sample was also delicious. Even though I don't partake in sweets as often as I'd like, I will definitely go back to the store and order more delicious goodies. Their Vietnamese cake left me wanting more!!!!!! It's that good! I also ordered an iced Cafe de olla. super yummy!

Love love this bakery! It's so nice to have a place that is just as good as the Hawaiian bakery cafe in Torrance and a short drive from Pasadena! The price is very reasonable and the ladies are always nice when I go. The banana cream pie is yummy and the Rice Krispie, both not pictured. Can't go wrong here

Cute little Bakery on Vallley @ Fremont. I needed a birthday cake and wanted something unique and to support a small biz. I heard about this place on SGV eats and it did not disappoint. The owner is super sweet. I got a fresh rainbow cake made in a couple of hours. My family and I enjoyed this cake so much. Everyone asked where I got it. The cake is super light, fluffy, refreshing, and beautiful! Three flavors of guava, passion fruit and key lime. The gel icing is super tasty too. And covered in fresh whipped cream. The 6" cake fed my party of 9 perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

Delightful bakery. Tried the banana cream pie and basque cheese cake. The banana cream pie is so delicious and comforting. It tastes like a bowl of corn flakes cereal with banana slices - in the best way! The basque cheese cake has an almost custard consistency.

    my gorgeous cake!!

Hi Kay, the only items that contain any nuts are our carrot cake (contains walnuts) and our ube haupia cake (contains coconut). Feel free to call us at (626) 872-0003 if you have any questions!

Is dairy the top 2 ingredients in your butter mochi? I'm asking because of an allergy concern. Thank you.

Hi Jess! Unfortunately, we use a lot of milk in our butter mochi.

Taste of black sesame cake 0 stars: I didn't get a clear description from my family who ate about every flavor profile but I asked if the cake was comparable to a 99 ranch cake my aunt got one year that tasted horrible. My sister didn't even want to answer which cake was worse. So I feel justified to score the cake as 0 in flavor If I didn't want to eat that 99 ranch cake and my sister said this cake was just as bad... Look of the cake: from pervious seasons, the black sesame cake looked really cute! With the spring season, the design changed. I understand the concept but... it's really not that pretty anymore. The green icing looks cheap and the flower on top looks like a weed. Compared to the fruits, nuts, and macaroon decoration from previous season, the design is worse. I bought a cake from Freesia knowing that reviews on Yelp for the taste of the cakes were a hit or miss but my brother-in-law likes black sesame and most of the reviews that mentioned the cake tasting good was of this flavor. I was treating this purchase as an experiment since I was also interested in the mango sago for my husband's upcoming birthday and he likes mango sago. Well, it was a miss. I appreciate the service, convenience, and packaging but an inedible cake is a pass.
