Bed was so comfortable and the shower had excellent water pressure and a wide range of hot to cold. I prefer a really hot shower, and sometimes places don't have the water hot enough. This one was perfect. Right down the street from South Kingstown Town Beach. No tv or refrigerator in room but there is a common fridge in the kitchen downstairs along with a self serve Keurig machine. Looking forward to spending a few nights in July next year so I can enjoy the beach in high season. Also, a short drive to Matunuck Oyster Bar where you will get a fabulous meal.

You are mostly paying for location. The shower is made for children and/or little people. I had to stick half my body out of it in order to shave. The room is tiny and the walls are paper thin. There was also no closet (they had an Kmart looking unit attached to the wall to hang up your clothes), a busted dresser, and no iron. The rooms are non-smoking. There is a porch with a table area, but you are so close to your neighbors if they happen to be out there at the same time, there is no privacy whatsoever. PROS: Great location near the beach and restaurants. Westerly, RI is not too far away. Clean. WiFi. Debbie, the office manager, is very nice and lives on site. If you are the type of person who barely stays in your room, then the cons won't really matter. Extra star rating given due to the easy check in/check out process and the location. FYI. The Surfside Motel works with The Nordic Lodge. However, you must inform them prior to booking in order to get it included with your reservation. I am not sure if there is a discount on the price of the Nordic Lodge tickets when buying them through the hotel.

Under different management (the Blue Dolphin?), it was nothing to write home about, but was a reliable, affordable, and CLEAN base from which a young couple could afford to head out to the beach and other summer fun. Things originally seemed ok when the place was renamed, no issues of note and the new owners were very friendly (and remained so). Our last stay, however, revealed this as a place at which we could no longer stay. The room contained a smell that seemed to be a horrible blend of mildew and cigarette smoke; the beds' comforters felt damp and even Ozium could do nothing about the stench. It was so bad we actually cut our vacation in the area short. I wish otherwise as it's very close to some of our favorite vacation spots, but the experience has left us unwilling to risk trying similarly priced hotels in the area.
