Our visit to The Break Hotel's rooftop restaurant was a highlight of our stay. It was an excellent experience from beginning to end. While we only tried a few drinks, we highly recommend them.

Scenery and location - 5 stars Food - 2-3 stars Service - 3 stars We went on a Friday when they opened for lunch at noon. You walk through the small hotel to get to the elevator and go to the rooftop (4th floor) We were the first ones there and took the only table that had a umbrella to keep off the sun. The other 8 or nine had places for umbrellas but none. I asked and the server said the other one broke. Hmmmm... OK Ok wine list - a bit on the pricy side. A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc small pour was $11 per glass. I had the quahog chowder which was tasty( but not hot enough) - a cup of standard milky chowder base, few small chunks of potatoes, chopped quahogs, lots of dill - great crackers to put in soup. Cheese and garlic? Can't remember - that was $8.00. Oysters were $3 each and shrimp cocktail $3.50 each. They were Fresh but not outstanding. Friend had the avocado toast and enjoyed it, and the turkey club was also enjoyed. They do offer saugy's in several ways ( ie with boneless short ribs) , sandwiches and appetizers for lunch. They had what sounded like an awesome hamburger but it was only served after 5 pm) It was a lovely day and we all enjoyed the sunshine and cool breeze. There was only one server and as it got busy we saw him less and less. But he was pleasant and low key and we liked him . My friend had gone to dinner the night before and said it was pretty good. For me, Narragansett is full of places for lunch and drinks, mostly mediocre, ( except for staples like Matunuck Oyster Bar , Spain, Aunt Carries etc). So to be up 4 stories and see the view was lovely. I would go again for drinks and the view but wouldn't bother with the food again.

Great spot for drinks with an amazing view! Came here mainly for that. They have a rooftop bar and a ground level bar, and it's located inside break hotel. Complementary valet parking although it also seems like it's the only option. Love the decor inside, has quite a charm to it as soon as you enter. Bright and blue. Good combination of new n old. Sat at the rooftop bar, got 2 drinks, on vacation and the garden Bloody Mary both of which were pretty decent. For food, for the happy hour mussels which was good and the clam chowder which we returned since it didn't even have one clam in it and was not so great anyways. Also got the charcuterie board with the speck, bufaralo and one other cheese. The bufaralo was great, had a lot of strong different flavors. Overall good experience I guess. Drinks and view were great, food was alright. Very close to block island harbor if you want to check out sunset.

We've been wanting to try Chair 5 for a few years, having heard good things about it. The location is prime, on a Narragansett roof deck looking out to the ocean. The servers were friendly and attentive. There's a cute sunset deck on the other side that looked fun for drink and snacks. We took a leap and ordered the lobster roll. At $38, the kitchen really has to bring it - but when it hit the table, the sandwich was aggravatingly small. We also ordered the ahi tacos and a smokehouse chicken sandwich. Interesting and not bad, but the flavors lacked punch and just didn't hang together. There's a lot of variety on the menu, but in the end, we came away feeling like the whole thing was just unfocused. We wanted it to be great, but can only recommend it for a drink and maybe a simpler appetizer. (2 stars feels harsh, but I'd have to want to go back to get to 3, and I just don't.)

Chair 5 at The Break, by Jim and Becky Durkin. A 16 room nautical stay not only by view but by the ornaments. The design is consistent from the front door, floors, ceiling to our table. If your really think about it, Narragansett the Florida of Rhode Island, a peninsula, surrounded by water. One really needs to take a walk around the quarters and port to get the complete tour. At the Chair 5 everyone caters and welcomes by opening your car door, the hostess with their international smiles, to the bartender who seems to know just the right drink for the soothing sounds. Kelly our server who made me smile not knowing Cheers but now knows the "Kelly Song" by Woodi... a delight who knew the menu and made my wife and I laugh. A joy! The chef has a twist to the list of on the menu. As if everyone is heard so they can prep to serve you personally. Chair 5 has even thought about our animal friends, almost every other item on the menu is animal free and thoughtful to the local community food and drink sources. I loved the vSausage and vCheese Flat Bread and the Wild Mushroom Risotto... a well chilled floating ice rock Bourbon and a Gansett Lager that most don't know 'it's organic.' The music was so awesome by Lainey Dionne. We over heard Lainey completed her 4 year college in two years knowing she and her parents couldn't afford her housing in Boston so she took advantage of the time she was gifted. Wonderful to see the youth succeed. Her talent didn't stop at education, her music shined. Beautiful voice accompanied by her acoustical talent. Can't wait to revisit and sail onto the new adventure at Chair 5.

Cute place! Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. We just had some drinks out on their rooftop lounge which is open year round. The view is great and they offer blankets if you get chilly. The service was really great and the prices are reasonable for the type of place it is. Their inside has a few tables and a small bar with TVs. Other than the main outdoor lounge, there's another outdoor section with couches. Not sure how the food is but definitely recommend the visit for a drink if you want to relax and enjoy the view.

There are one or two restaurants that are passable for the area and would probably be a solid 3-3.5 out of 5. This place is a 5 out of 5. This place could be a 6 out of 5 compared to my local restaurants. And believe me, I took nearly two years of Spanish in high school, so I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I ordered fish tacos and my wife ordered the enchiladas verde (green) as takeout. When I got to the restaurant, I was greeted by three (tres) lads whereby one of them promptly handed me my order. When I pulled the food out of the bag back at the hotel, I was greeted with an absolute masterpiece of culinary art, the fish tacos. The red cabbage slaw covering the tacos, mixed with the sauce was beautiful (bonita) and vibrant. The enchiladas verde looked just as good, but were less vibrant in presentation. It seemed like the chefs cared about the product they were serving to their customers. The rice that came with the enchiladas had a great consistency and not dry at all - I can't stand dry rice. My wife said the enchiladas themselves were flavorful and seasoned very well and not the "suburban white lady" kind of seasoning. However, she doesn't write the reviews - I do - so I will talk about the fish tacos. There were three of them and I got them made with the corn tortillas (tortillas). Any fish taco I have ever had has always been small nuggets of fish smattered through the taco. These bad boys were absolute units where the entire bottom of the taco was one large fried piece of haddock, covered in a somewhat tangy sauce, and topped with red cabbage. The sauce and red cabbage made for a bit of a messy meal, so be prepared to get your hands dirty if you order this. I would not recommend getting these (or the enchiladas) if you had to drive down US Route 1 at the apparent local speed limit of 75 miles per hour and expected to just chow on some tacos while doing so. By the way,, what's with that, RI drivers? It's not the Autobahn. I had a RideOn bus 5 ft from my bumper while doing 70 on there yesterday. Calm down (or should I say 'clam down', amirite?). Anyway, this food was very good and next time I am in town, I would like to go there and sit down to eat while trying to ignore the fact that half the people around me here sound like Peter Griffin.

The drinks were good (except the waiter told my partner that the drink he asked about wasn't sweet and it was VERY sweet) but that may have been a language barrier so no worries. The appetizers were GOOD -- we had the flautas (delicious) and the street corn (yummy and served in a way that's easy to share). But the main dishes were pretty BAD - two of us had barbacoa -- which came out with such a salty sauce that they were literally unedible. We asked the manager and waiter for something else and ordered Carne Asada which was like shoe leather. We both left most of it on the plate and the manager and the waiter completely ignored us. Sad, as I have had good things there. Maybe once the tourists leave it will be good again but doubt that we will be back.

Adam waited on us at the inside bar and provided phenomenal service. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to his guests are a tremendous asset to your establishment. I would be remiss if I did not also recognize Eve, Casey, Paige, Al, Jordan, Dan, and Jeff. You have an incredible service team that is second to none. We have spent time at both the restaurant and the Tiki Bar, and most recently we had the pleasure of being served by Gina, who was also exceptional. As a former employment recruiter, I can honestly say that I would be trying to recruit this incredible staff myself! They are dedicated, positive, hospitable, and take tremendous pride in both their professional and personal service. They consistently perform under maximum stress with efficiency, professionalism, and a smile. I understand there is currently a contest on Yelp, and we would like to nominate Adam. He embodies everything you could want in a member of your waitstaff: spirit, dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine devotion to providing an outstanding guest experience. He has a wonderful ability to make guests feel as though they are not only being well cared for, but that he is genuinely enjoying his job as well. Choosing one person was extremely difficult because your entire team deserves recognition. However, Adam stood out as a phenomenal leader, and that is why we are choosing him for our nomination. I would gladly hire or recommend any one of these fine young men and women. They are truly exceptional representatives of George's. We wish those who are moving on to college or graduate school all the best in their future endeavors. We will certainly continue to frequent George's, as we have for many years, and look forward to seeing this wonderful team whenever we visit. I remember there being a patio overlooking the ocean, giving incredible views while eating dinner. That part has not changed. We got a table partly shaded, partly sunny. To start, we ordered the Firefly Mule ($15.00) which had Velo Butterfly Vodka, Guava Puree, Lime Juice, Ginger Beer. The first sip was good, but it somehow got progressively worse. I will say the guava puree was delicious, I wish there was more of it. We shared 4 cocktail shrimp and they were a bit firmer/dense, so maybe slightly overcooked. We ordered a Lychee Martini ($15.00) which has Grey Goose Vodka, Lychee Juice, Lemon, Simple Syrup Joto 'The Blue One' Junmai Nigori Sake. The start was okay, but the ending was terrible, almost like sipping rubbing alcohol. In hindsight, we would've swapped grey goose for a better vodka. We did ask for more simple syrup to try to balance out the bitterness but there was no remedy. For our entrees, we had the Linguine & Clams ($29.00) with Native little neck clams, fresh herbs, garlic white wine butter sauce and the Sunset Farm Burger ($24.00) 1/2 local ground beef, 1/2 ground bacon, crispy onion strings, arugula, cheddar, garlic aioli & sunny side up farm egg, brioche bun. I did upgrade my fries to truffle your fries for +$3.00 and it was the best decision I made. The plates looked spectacular. The burger patty didn't look too impressive, but everything on the burger all together looked amazing. The egg was cooked to perfection, the bun was slightly grilled, the cheese was melted well, and the arugula looked fresh. I wish it did come with more crispy onions and more garlic aioli. I think tomato would've gone well too. I could actually taste the bacon in the patty, but I wish it were in the form of crispy strips instead for a saltier finish. The fries were crispy, packed with truffle oil and parmesan cheese, and crispy; no complaints. The linguine and clams was decent. I am not the biggest fan of clams but these tasted fresh. The garlic white wine butter sauce was simple, good, and taste just as the name implies - a combination of all three ingredients. Our waiter was good to us; very charismatic and attentive.
