This is absolutely not how you welcome a guest paying $325 a night. The Arrival Disaster: After a grueling 16-hour door-to-door journey on zero sleep, the front desk agent kindly offered an early 9:00 AM check-in, but then walked me across the property and dumped me in the wrong building entirely. After searching down a hallway for a room number that did not exist, the exit door locked behind me, forcing me to hike through the exterior parking lot back to the lobby. It turned out my actual room was just 10 feet from the reception desk the whole time. To top it off, the room was missing a basic "Do Not Disturb" sign, meaning I had to hunt down housekeeping the next morning just to get some uninterrupted rest. (Though the housekeeping staff themselves deserve an 8/10 for cleanliness, as the actual cleaning job was good). Dead Technology: The technology setup in the room was incredibly frustrating. The room phone was completely dead because it wasn't even plugged into the wall. Even after plugging it in, it still did not work and required a tech guy to come down and fix it. Because the phone was dead and the Wi-Fi wouldn't connect on its own, I had to physically walk back to the front desk just to get help. The tech guy ultimately had to manually configure the TV to get the guest Wi-Fi working. While I eventually got my own phone connected using their password and router info, a guest shouldn't have to deal with unplugged equipment and technical support just to get basic internet. Dining & Billing Headaches: We were here for a wedding block arranged by my sister. The breakfast food at Little Clam was good, and the pricing was exactly what you would expect at a hotel restaurant. However, the front desk initially refused to honor the $15-a-day food credit that was explicitly part of our wedding block, insisting their records didn't show it. We had to get the wedding organizer involved to fix it. The Checkout Bait-and-Switch: Departure completely ruined any remaining goodwill. My 2-night reservation was explicitly quoted at $586.08 including taxes and fees. At checkout, I was blindsided by a total charge of $648.24 due to a hidden "urban destination fee" tacked on by the hotel. Sneaking in an extra $62 after booking feels completely deceptive. The people working here are pleasant, but management needs to get their act together. Between the hidden fees and the broken room amenities, the value just isn't there.

My husband found this hotel online only a few miles from Connecticut. we called and talked to Al, who was so welcoming told us to come over and that he would check us in early! Got there the hotel is right on the water. We were greeted in the parking lot and given a parking spot . Check-in was easy rooms were clean. The neighborhood is so fun full of cute little shops. So happy that he found this hotel. When we checked out and were about three hours away from the hotel, we realized we left my daughter's favorite blanket in the room. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but this was a huge disaster! I called the office and Al said that he would go look for it, he called me back, found the blanket and actually took time out of his life to mail it to our house. So thankful for him and the staff at the hotel. They went above and beyond anything they had to do. I would highly recommend this cute hotel on the beach and the staff.

We had family on the trip with us who joined us for drinks and she attended to all of us and the other quests. She was the attending to the front desk, bartender, etc. She did not miss a beat. Impressive! We were on the island in Sept. My friends stayed here and loved it. I come often and have had brunch here, but this is the first time we've stayed. The room was spacious. My 10yr old loved her pull out bed. She asked us to stay longer she had so much fun. Our room was the Tosh. The view is great, they have cheese and wine in the evenings and like I said I've had their brunch, it's great. Emily checked us out and I asked if she would be there in Aug/Sept. Told her wood call her to book and I look forward to seeing her. She was amazing!! I also have to give Rita a shout out. I met her in Sept and she was such a gem to my friends who were staying there. They are all very accommodating.

recently stayed at 1661 with my mom and we had an amazing trip. the resort is clean, staff is very…read morefriendly, and rooms are cozy. very conveniently located too. we loved the complimentary happy hour each day and appreciated the complimentary champagne at breakfast too! they have a garden across the street, be sure to check it out because the veggies are so fresh and delicious! i also appreciated the fact that they had a coffee machine in the lobby with some treats/muffins that was available 24/7. water too, so we could refill our bottles at any time of the day or night. can't wait to come back!
