A nice neighborhood bar that has no shortage of televisions. We requested outdoors and the server made it happen by shuffling things around so we were grateful. Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. We tried the smash burgers and found them quite enjoyable. I ordered the wedge salad and was surprised that it came out with shredded lettuce (though I now see it was described that way). This is a buzzy bar restaurant succeeding with food ranging good to excellent, pleasant decor, and very good drinks. The Wolfe has a lot of TVs. That makes it like a sports bar without the volume and grunge of, say, the Gin Mill across the street. The Wolfe definitely has polish. Had a great weekend brunch experience here - came with a group of 5 plus a child under 1, and we were fitted in a corner booth (with our own private TV, so if you're coming for a sports event, awesome set up!). The waitress was patient as our group slowly trickled in, which made for a good dining experience. So that's the ambiance. The food though is the star of the show! The brunch menu was eclectic, with a broad array, not overly breakfast heavy, with options that are not quite your every day brunch. The Mediterranean flatbread was delicious and set the tone for mains of mango Thai noodles, which had a nice kick, the crispy chicken sandwich and green eggs and ham. My personal favorite though was the stuffed jalapeño grilled cheese. The fries were shoestring style and delicious too. On top of it all, pricing was very reasonable! Good selection of scotches, whiskeys and other liquor. Also a good selection cocktails. My friend and I walked in around 1030p on a Sat night, door opened by the doorman, seats at the bar. We watched Tenn slip by Texas while I sipped a Laphroig [no Oban :( ] and she had a blood Mary. Good music in the background and a great crowd, not too busy but a good ambience in the bar. read more

I came here with my son on a Sunday night - the place was packed! Some were watching football - there are screens all over, I also noticed the cute little room/cubby in the back with a tv screen and two tables. Our server was very attentive and extra careful with my son's food allergies. He had the NY Strip Steak and I had the Big Bad Wolfe Burger, both cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy. I loved the fig and Gruyère combination on that burger - it had a nice sweetness to add to the dimension of the overall taste. I paired my burger with the house cab, which was a great choice. Looking forward to going back again and perhaps trying the brunch or happy hour sometime! read more

Recently opened sports bar that was much needed for UWS! I'd say there's too many dive and Irish bars in the area, so it's a bit of fresh air to have one that's a little more upscale and refined. Was walking in the neighborhood and stumbled across this place and decided to go in for a drink, which turned into a few drinks and grabbed some fantastic grub at the same! Ordered the Wolfe burger, which was cooked to perfection with amazing fries! Waitress and staff in general were also fantastic! Overall, it's a great addition to the neighborhood, and I'm looking forward to coming back and maybe making this my local go to spot! read more

3.5 stars is most appropriate. The Wolfe has a really nice ambiance. I really like the bathroom decor with the pink subway tiles and wallpaper. On Thursday night the front area looked completely full at one point. They do have a back area and side table which looks like can be closed off for larger groups. We opted to sit at the bar rather than squeezing into a table. All tables are high tops. They have happy hour until 7 so we made it in time for one happy hour drink. We both ordered a margaritas ($9) and neither one of us it loved it. My friend didn't like the tartness and had more simple syrup added to her. We opted for a beers for our next round. My pumpkin beer ($10) came with a maple sugar rum which is always a nice touch with pumpkin beer. Our waitress didn't do that great of a job offering food recommendations. It's almost as if she wasn't sure how to answer. Yet it was definitely a common question asked by everyone that sat down next to us. Manager did a much better job answering for someone else. We shared the Wolfe burger and the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich and the spicy Mac and cheese. The burger and the fries were the winners! The burger was cooked well and the toppings gave it a nice flavor. The chicken sandwich was nothing to brag about. A thicker piece of chicken might have helped. I don't think I'd call it sweet and spicy; barbeque might be more fitting. I loved the Parmesan pesto fries. The Mac and cheese was okay. It had a little kick and might have been a bit bland without it. read more

I really enjoy this spot. I usually end up here on a Thursday night to watch sports with some friends. They have really delicious $1 wings on Thursday and their selection of drinks is nice. I haven't ever eaten a full meal here but based on the wings, I can imagine the meals must be good. Otherwise, it's a great place to watch sports as they have lots of TVs. It's a more upscale looking place even though it may be deemed a sports bar, but that's all good. And the service has always been good and attentive. Definitely will be back. read more

Can only share my experience with the drinks but they were decent, I ordered a pilsner/light beer and husband the Guinness. Prices were reasonable and the drinks came fast. Bartenders were friendly and we sat at the bar. The vibes were fun, sports were on the tv and there were a few people watching. I've been here many times at this point and I've never had a bad time. It's a higher scaled sports bar and it could get busy during a big game and/or weekend but also have its quieter atmosphere during the day and some nights during the weekdays. I went to the Wolfe for their happy hour. I had been to the Wolfe previously and I had a good time. I was greeted by a bartender and he was very nice. It wasn't busy but then again it was a Tuesday. I particularly liked the prices for the happy hour ($6 for well drinks) and I had two vodka cranberries for around $12. I will definitely becoming back to the Wolfe. read more

Disappointed because I wanted to like the place. But it just seems like it's trying to be two different things. I passed this place many times because it looks like a sports bar from the side walk, there's a TV in every line of sight, which seems completely opposite to the actual decor and upscale vibe. Couples around us included guys staring at one of a dozen large TVs and their dates vying unsuccessfully for their attention. The food is decent, the menu inspired by trendy places in "Downtown Anywhere, USA," but maybe that's where the UWS is headed. Our waiter was efficient, but smug, and gave off the energy that this was the last place on earth he wanted to be. Maybe it was a long weekend. They were right about the Cronuts, those were next-level, and the burger was worthy of the price, but the other appetizers were perfectly average, at least they came on nice plates. The restaurant was empty on a Sunday which made all the TVs seem like overkill. When we walked out, several other restaurants nearby were pretty busy, so I hope Wolfe figures out how they could improve because I'm not sure I'd be rushing back here. read more

Fun place to go, went there with my daughter who has celiac and they were so attentive in every way they have separate fryers for the french fries which is much appreciated especially for my girlie who has a hard time going out to eat. Went during happy hour to escape the short rain shower and ended up staying longer than I planned! The bartender was attentive and made me an amazing house margarita (only $9 for the happy hour, a pretty great deal!). I also ordered the schnitzel per the advice of many other reviewers and did not regret it. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the greens, tomatoes and mustard that it was served with were the perfect complements. The decor gives a masculine but modern vibe and is very cute!
