    Got my birthday oysters
    Jaida F.

Brought the n my birthday at PJ. Clarke's and some very delicious oysters! Since we were right by Lincoln Center, it was super busy so my friend and I sat at the bar. Everyone; patrons and servers alike were so kind once they realized it was my birthday and did all they could to make the experience a beautiful one for me

Great service, good food, fantastic location across from Lincoln Center. Our server, Milo, was personable, attentive to our table, and made great recommendations. Our glasses were never empty! I had the Maine style lobster roll which came with homemade waffle chips, and topped it off with a lovely drink called Queens Gambit (vodka, elderflower liquor...mmm). We ordered the Rum Raisin Bread Pudding for the table dessert. (Warm, rich...delicious)

Perfect location if you're at a show in the area. We had reservations for. We were seated quickly. Anna was our waitress. She provided friendly and professional service! She checked all my boxes. Made suggestions, explained food preparation, patient, perfectly timed check ins as meal progressed; we were all happy with our food. I enjoyed my wings and beer. Fish and chips eater was happy. And the burger and fries person was content. Bathrooms were clean. Zero complaints.

This is the second time I've been here. The first time I got macaroni despite everyone getting burgers. This time I got the burger, that is supposed to be one of the best in the city. The good:seated quickly on a Saturday morning; jukebox in the bottom floor, our waiter was at tentative. The burger itself is on the smaller side for $25, there was nothing overly special about it, it was cooked fine for medium rare, not overly juicy just average; it was barely hot. Our fries were soo cold that we asked for new ones with the waiter saying " we get that a lot, I believe you". Soo you pay for food that has been sitting around under maybe a heat lamp? Just no, in nyc the competition is fierce and this just does not cut it.

Great place for food and drink if you are seeing any performance at Lincoln Center. The jumbo Bloody Mary is probably more fun to order and see than actually fill up on, but still cool.

Dropped by to grab few drinks and catch up with my cousin. They were able to accommodate us without a reservation which was amazing. The staff was kind and friendly.

No wait without reservation and quick attentive service. Great burger and fries. We really enjoyed our meal. Old classic pub vibe. Very clean.

Conveniently located right next to Lincoln Center, PJ Clarke's is a gastropub serving comfort foods. Their menu offers seafood, steaks and their well-known burgers. The 1884 cheeseburger was delicious. It's a simple burger with the classic toppings but it was satisfying. Comes with a pickle and fries, and the fries were crispy.

I remember eating at the Upper East location, a few years ago, for lunch. So we decided to give this one a try for dinner. While the location is right in the heart of Lincoln Center, the food fell flat. Our waiter Chris, from the south, was the best thing about our meal. We started with the Korean Sticky Ribs, which fell right off the bone but needed more flavor in the Gochujang BBQ Sauce. The Gentleman's Chopped Steak tasted like spicy, lean sausage molded into a patty and then simmered in a burnt Worcester sauce. My wife's Newport Steak was cooked properly, but was tough. I honestly think the cook cut with the grain of the meat, instead of against it (the proper way). Maitre De Butter was mostly herbs, and some butter. I will say that the Frites were an almost exact clone of McDonalds; nice job. While on the other hand, the Rosti Potatoes were dense, odd flavored belly bombs. We looked at the dessert menu, but the four choices didn't entice us. Which was a good thing, since I really didn't want to spend any more money here. I have a friend, who is a fellow foodie, and he agreed that this location isn't good either.

(Dined 06/18/2024 TU @ 6:00pm): Oddly enough, this place seemed casual enough to wear your pjs, but it was best if you dressed it up a bit and wore your Clarks shoes! A pre-show meal at P.J. Clarke's was the most sensible thing to do as we considered other options in the area and checked the waiting lists. Unless we ate at a food cart, I knew we were going to drop some cash. However, that was an expected expense paired with my first time ever going to The Metropolitan Opera and the 2024 summer season opening night performance of American Ballet Theatre (ABT) doing "Onegin"; another travel bucket list accomplishment! Would P.J. set the tone for the rest of the evening!? PURCHASE Montauk Brewing Co. Easy Rider Witbier Wheat Beer 16floz Draft ($9.00): My starter drink, it had a hazy rich amber color, bready citrusy malty aroma, low body, bready citrusy malty flavor, smooth finish, and light bready citrusy malty aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=oPajsM8vDcUyWMUfupVuPg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw St. Germain Fizz Cocktail ($16.00): My friend's aperitivo, this "Italian sparkler" was made with Elderflower liqueur, fresh lime juice, fresh mint, and prosecco - cheery elixir! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=UpoBZKnshK5ptWKVl76LSQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Warm Baguette ($9.00): Freshly-baked bread was like a drug; I could never have enough! The garlic olive oil and honey butter were equally addicting, and I found myself eating these after the bead was gone! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Hxug2sMniXSMuWfh4BEzpg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Proper Fish & Chips ($27.00): Two large smoldering crispy golden pieces of fish atop a bed of thin crispy French fries, the fish was initially too hot to eat, but once it cooled down, it was so moist and broke apart easily. It was very good, but I actually preferred mine crunchy, almost like fish sticks. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=IodwEtjv9yFp6qScnjEcgw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Roast Chicken Caesar Salad ($26.00): A succulent fall-apart piece of chicken atop a crisp salad, this was another lovely dish but wished the chicken was already cut and rested on the salad. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9iqqbzjHXZel61PfHXIBRw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Perfect Manhattan Cocktail ($16.00): My digestif was made with Rittenhouse rye, sweet & dry vermouth, and garnished with an amarena cherry - simply classic and lovely. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-DP1jOiTqiKyfzESDhBxzw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 2023 Manon Rosé 4floz Glass ($14.00): My friend's digestif was pink with hints of honey and peach - refreshing! SERVICE We casually walked in, asked for a table, and let the young hostess know we had a 7:30pm show across the street at The Met. She sat us immediately, our male server was ready with menus and poured us glasses of water. We soon ordered our drinks, appetizer, and entrees. The drinks and appetizer arrived quickly while our entrees came about 15 minutes late. We were checked on often, empty plates cleared away, and when it was time to pay, that was a quick process. Everything was spectacular -thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) We took a Lyft into the city, so I was unaware of the parking situation. The main drags of Columbus Ave., Broadway, and 63d St., respectively, were packed with traffic. Take any public transportation if you can - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious place with a ton of tables and stools at the large bar, in addition to an outdoor area where pets were allowed. The decor had a very old period English pub feel adorned with numerous framed pictures. Plenty of natural lighting came through the many large windows that circled the restaurant while bright electric hung ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while I couldn't recall if any music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2eJFDbQJwYgVU_z19XweWQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Although I was in a suit and tie, this place was totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL P.J. Clarke's was exactly what we needed and would definitely return. Sure, I felt things were a bit pricey (this was the Upper West Side after all); however, everything we ate and drank was tasty, and the menus had many options. Plus, the service was awesome as they got us in and out in time for our show. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $127.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit cards of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

LINGUINE IN WHITE CLAM SAUCE, TRIO OF MINI BURGERS, SEARED FAROE ISLAND SALMON
    Jiayi L.

Came here on a Friday night, we made a reservation, but the place was not too crowded. Ambience reminds me of like the old school Italian places with the checkered, red and white picnic table tablecloths. We ordered our entrees and unfortunately they took a little while. One thing to know is that they do not give you bread when you're seated so we were pretty hungry once the food came out. We got the linguine with white clam sauce, trio of mini burgers and the Faroe Island salmon. Portions were on the smaller side of what I would expect and the linguine was a little spicy for my taste, but overall food was good and we finished it all since we were hungry. Not a bad place to eat but also not sure if I'd come back for the price.

The tuna was fresh and vibrant. And the Beef Wellington... honestly one of the best I've had in New York City. Perfectly cooked, rich, elegant, and absolutely worthy of a celebration dinner. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance: romantic, warm, refined but relaxed. It felt special without being stiff. If you're looking for a place to celebrate something meaningful, this is it.
