you came to my property because the sink was clogged two hours after you left. The bathtub was not draining and it's only 2 feet from the sink. I believe that you didn't clear the line is all the way . It was working properly before you showed up and when I called you back for the service you claimed is not related. Lowell came to rooter our toilet. charged 400 for camera, 450 for auger. All fake. He said first he has to do the camera first, that might open the toilet. all lies. He showed me his camera, you could see nothing in all the poop there. UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, DISHONEST & DISAPPOINTING! Shawn quoted us for $1600 for our plumbing. We asked if he could help us a bit more and he said he can give us discount if we pay cash. We agreed to pay cash but out of nowhere he asked for $500 deposit which he will get to us a day in advance before he does his job. When we asked him if we can just pay him in cash after the completion, he got offended. He said the he gets customers that puts larger amount in his hand than us. We don't care about other customers, what might be small amount for them , is large amount for us. His response is just so unprofessional. If this guy is your plumber, does he always asked for 30% down payment? I'm so curious. I know the legal down payment is 10% of the total cost, which I'm willing to do. I've posted our conversation, you guys be the judge. Thank you for posting that as well. It clearly shows a lack of compassion or understanding. You already know where we're coming from--we asked for a better quote, which should've indicated that we're not large-scale clients with unlimited budgets. I had hired Shawn for a job before and was very happy with his service in the past. I can not say the same for my most recent experience with his company. I contacted The Works plumbing because I needed some parts replaced on ,my water heater. The water heater was still under the manufacturer's warranty and the manufacturer had overnighted me the replacement parts. I called The Works first thing in the morning explaining the situation and asked if he could come the same day. Shawn said he could come by and install the replacement parts but would provide no warranty of his work since the manufacturer is the one who had diagnosed our problem and sent the appropriate parts. That didn't seem right to me but I accepted his terms anyway. Shawn said to contact him once I had the parts in my hand and he would make time to come same day. Based on this assurance I canceled another plumber I had contacted because I trusted Shawn and had worked with him before. When I contacted him 3 hours later to say I now had the parts, he informed me that he had taken another job and now couldn't come same day, putting me in a terrible last minute situation. By a lot of luck I was able to find another, highly rated plumber to come same day to help us and who would also warranty their work. I guessed I dodged a bullet hiring this company. read more

Needed a GREAT plummer once again and I knew WHOM to call - SHAWN! He got me scheduled in a few days for a double toilet seat UPGRADE to save toilet paper - that is... LOL. Woke up to two toilets that did not flush and a shower that did not drain. I quickly determined that I had a plumbing problem well beyond my powers! I started calling Yelp listed plumbers. The Works had Shawn available in just a few hours. He came earlier than expected. I knew things would be OK when I answered the door. He just had that air about him He quickly figured out what had to be done and went right to it. He quickly had our drain unplugged, but spent almost the same amount of time checking out the drain and making sure it really was clear. The price was very reasonable and the work was outstanding. Had a Kitchen drain backed up past the trap and clean out. Sean cleaned the line. We experienced a slow drain some time following the initial visit. A had scheduled a pressure wash/hydro blast which included scoping the pipes. It turned out that the initial cleaning took care of the initial blockage but he discovered an improperly sloped pipe under the sink to the clean out. He gave me a very competitive quote for the job that was less than the big name companies that tried to overcharge me and suggest I update other plumbing that was unnecessary. To Future Customers: Read the Owner's response and decide for yourself. Does his response show any compassion? I think not. He clearly either did not read the situation or more likely, doesn't care. Up to you if you want to deal with an owner like that. Again, he expected me to drop my baby and leave my neighbors in a horrible emergency. I called back within 5 minutes. Give me a break. Edit 2: Given my above comment, the owner removed their response. I think that verifies the kind of people you're going to deal with at this company. Was so surprised to have a very bad experience with this company based on the reviews. We unfortunately had our kitchen sink backing up and therefore left us with an inability to use it. This is definitely problematic when you have a 21 month old toddler and can't easily clean and wash stuff. Sadly, Joe with The Works couldn't have been more rude and lacked any sense of empathy. I was assigned The Works through my home warranty company on Wednesday, February 17th. Since I did not hear from them, I called on Thursday, February 18th at 1:30 PM and got their voicemail. I called again on Friday, February 19th at 8:07 AM and got their voicemail. They did call back just after that at 8:28 AM and told me their earliest available was the following Tuesday, 4 days later. That would make getting service nearly a whole week after the problem. I get another call on Tuesday, February 22nd to confirm my availability and was told about their strict mask guidelines (which I said I was appreciative of). I made it very clear I would be around by telling them "I will be home the whole day and will be available whenever you are ready." He said they would give us a call about 15 minutes before arriving. The service window was from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. I woke up at 6:00 AM making sure I was ready to go. I ended up getting a call at 8:44 AM this morning but sadly, I had my son with me and was simultaneously helping my neighbor who actually had a much worse plumbing issue (a major pipe burst break in their house). They needed water and I was bringing it over to them as they had to shut off their water to the house. That means I couldn't answer immediately because I was trying to simply be a good neighbor. I called back minutes later as soon as I could and again, no one answered the phone. I called yet again at 9:11 AM and no one answered the phone. Joe finally called back at 10:15 AM telling me they would have to call and reschedule. I asked why would they need to reschedule given we're still within the window they told me they would complete the work? He said, if you don't answer the phone, they don't show. I told him of the circumstances I had at home and asked why he didn't answer when I nearly immediately called him back. He got rude with me and stated strongly that their policy is they don't show up no matter what if you don't answer the phone. I asked again why they didn't answer when I called several times to follow-up and again he said strongly he wasn't going to argue with me. The tone of his voice was very rude as well. I asked him what is the need to call the day before then to confirm if they completely disregard my statement about being home all day? Again, he just firmly stated he wasn't going to argue with me. He in fact stated that I call my home warranty to get someone else. I did do that taking the chance with another company because this one caused my family and I so much stress. If I didn't confirm the day before and didn't immediately call back, ok I get it. However, that wasn't the case and Joe showed no compassion at all. Sure, let me just throw my baby down and ignore my neighbors experiencing an emergency so I don't lose my one and only chance to have a plumber show up within the 6 hour time window they provided. Aren't we all in the middle of a pandemic with enough stress already? Clearly The Works doesn't really care about that. What were they going to do today with their extra time after deciding not to come to my house? Why don't they have someone consistently available to answer their phones? Why do they have to be so rude on the phone? These are all reasons why I would not deal with this company. I was willing and ready to recommend this company to my neighbors who really need a good plumber but there is no way I would do that to anyone with Joe working for them. The owner seems very responsive on here which is great but I can't see any reasoning behind why a company would conduct business this way. I had what I believed to be a simple repair, a small leak on an outside spigot. It is copper piping that is why I could not fix it. I called The Works. They contacted me immediately, set up an appointment for the next morning. As promised they called 30 minutes before arriving. The showed up. Explained that it could be an easy fix or more complicated if they encountered problems. Gave me a best case scenario for the bid. They proceeded to start the repair. They were able to fix it using tools I did not have nor did I have knowledge of using. When they left I had a working spigot with no mess. Had a home warranty request that was sent to them. They called me 1x and left a message that said please call here to make an apt before 9 am because we are in the field after that. I then called every single day for a week and begged on the message system to please schedule the apt any time any day home every single day!!! No call, no apt, no show!! Then I go the Warrenty site Friday and they have marked it service completed!! WHAT ??? I filed a complaint with the warranty company clearly. You did... and I didn't delete the voice message. And the part -- it is your voice. The work order was in your office for 4 days, you marked it complete on your end Thursday. I did call there and leave a message every single day and my call log proves it. BUT ok your lie is funny to me. The warranty company is refuting the completed service. read more
