Let me start off by saying that Yellow Deli has some of the best sandwiches ever. The Deli Rose sandwich is easily one of the top 3 sandwiches I've had my entire life. I loved it. The staff was SO friendly and it literally feels like you've walked into "The Hobbit." It is BEAUTIFUL inside!! And the Egg and Cheese on the pretzel roll-- an AMAZING combo with a little ketchup. An they are open 24 hours 5 days a week! I got a coffee and the spinwich to go. The place is cute and the people nice, but the coffee was only okay, and the sandwich disappointing. I really like eggs and spinach, so I do not know why the heart of the sandwich did not come together. I am generally a fan of baked goods, but I didn't find the bun very tasty. I have visited here several times in the last couple of months. I got the "spring chicken" sandwich (I ordered mine hot because it was cold outside). Seriously, one of the best sandwiches I have had in a very long time. Fresh baked bread, quality ingredients, & speedy service. They will not let you change up the breads, sauces on the sandwiches because they are their "signature sandwiches" and that is how they are supposed to be eaten. I respect that & think it's pretty cool. Another reviewer mentioned the workers looking for "converts" for their religious practices. I have never once encountered this, and like I mentioned at the beginning of my review, I have been here several times. One of my favorite places in Boulder simply because its the only place of its kind open almost 24/7. The food is good, the smoothies and juices are great. Although the service isn't as prompt as I would like it to be, everyone there is very friendly and the place has a very relaxed vibe. I have been here several times. Food is fresh and always good. The service is never fast and the environment has a strange , hippy vibe. Supposedly , they are all in cult, which would explain the way the act and dress. If you can get pass the weird vibe and enjoy the food I would try it out. First of all the place was super cute, really adorable furnishings. The menu was extremely limited and the internet was very slow. The food took forever to arrive. The sandwich I ordered the "Deli Rose" was very small. 2 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches for $8. It also had a weird taste to it. It was sour in a really unappetizing way. It was on a homemade onion role that was good but the bread was soaked through and soggy when it arrived at the table. The homemade chips were very good and the pickle was kind of amazing. If I was to return it would be for coffee and pastry only because it is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. read more

Yellow Deli kicks ass. Recently I moved from LA to Boulder due to a job transition. I'm a coffee shop person, and I could never seem to find a coffee shop with everything I needed: - Free Wifi - Friendly Staff - Good, cheap food - 24 hours - Chill atmosphere - Not jam packed with tourists, college kids, homeless people, etc. Ladies and Gentlemen, I have found my haven. The Yellow Deli is my favorite place in Boulder and I would give a resounding recommendation for anyone in the area to come by for a Mate and hot Spring Chicken sandwich as soon as possible. As an entrepreneur, I give these guys serious credit. They are always happy, friendly, warm, and welcoming, regardless of whether it's 4:00AM or 4:00PM. I have set up shop for as many as 12 hours at a time with no hint of annoyance. It reminds me of a few places back in Vermont that I used to study at during college. That led to sub par service as they didn't check in to see how the food was and we sat a long time before we just asked someone else for our check. Let me get this out of the way first......yes this place is run by a religious organization called The Twelve Tribes that some people may consider a cult. However, if you're not searching the internet for that information, you wouldn't really have any clue apart from how the managers/employees dress. So don't have some preconceived notion that you are going to be bombarded with attempts to be converted. Instead, I found everyone working there to be extraordinarily pleasant, much like the inviting woodsy decor. Very peaceful, with relaxing music and intoxicating scents of tea and fresh food. I'm originally from the East Coast, and my all time favorite sandwich is a good ol' reuben(Katz Deli in NYC is still the one to beat), but the Yellow Deli has a delicious reuben of their own. Also got a bowl of chili which was delicious as well. I rarely get to Boulder nowadays but if ever I'm around Pearl Street, Yellow Deli will definitely be on my list of stops. read more

This was an interesting experience! The decor is so unique to any other restaurant in Boulder. They repurpose the materials they use to make the tables and chairs from old barns which I thought was so cool. I tried my very first Yerba mate tea, mango flavored, and it was delicious! One of the employees found out this was my first visit and brought me three samples of their tea. I ordered my sandwich to go and it took longer than most other places but I didn't mind. Interesting place. I'm glad Yelpers recommended it, and I will definitely go back. Service was extremely friendly, and the food (cheese sandwich) was above average for the price. Good combination. The waitress knew it was my first time there, and she brought me a mango matte no charge. Very good. The only negative reviews I see on Yelp are from people who disagree with the politics / religion of the place. I didn't notice this. The only thing "in your face" is the very hippie writing on the wall, no literally, they have hippie stories painted on the wall to read. I found it entertaining more than anything. One of my favorite restaurants! Everything is freshly made! I almost always order a cranberry cashew salad with their house balsamic. It comes with amazing homemade bread that is always warm! It's a cozy spot for a date, to go with a couple good friends, or to hang out and study (they've got plenty of outlets, and they're open 24hours/5days a week!).
