We stayed one night on a Thursday, and there was only one other couple staying that night. I booked the "Peggy Room" which was very bright and cute, and had great views of Mt. Hood. My BF said the sheets on the bed were the softest he had ever slept on. Breakfast was very yummy, we had an egg scramble with rosemary, lemon and orange french toast made from a croissant, chicken apple sausage, fresh squeezed OJ and local coffee. Overall we had a great experience, the owners Carol and Jerry are very accommodating and we had a very comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend if staying in the Mt. Hood area.

We visited the Saturday market and ate at and toured Full Sail Brewing Co. Try to ask for Randy for the tour! Here are a few things to keep in mind: -This is a very small town and the surrounding restaurants close at 8 so try to eat early or set-up dinner with Carol and Jerry! -Be prepared to drive on curvy, gravel, or uphill roads -If you're coming from Oregon, make sure you have a few dollars in change because you will cross a toll bridge that costs 75 cents each way Overall, if you're looking to get out of the city and into the country side, visiting Husum Highlands is encouraged!

This campground (specifically site #13) was very nice. Ok, first off, it is a campground. It is not a hike in and pitch your tent kind of deal. It is a drive up and pitch your tent not too far from you car kind of deal. We stayed at site #13 and our friends stayed at #14. #14 was big which was good as they had 5 people in their party. #13 is pretty small, but there is a secret to that site. When we first drove up to it and saw the picnic table and fire pit and the small space for the tent we thought meh. Been here done this, but here is the secret. The secret is that there is a path just beyond the fire pit that will take you about 15 seconds to wind down. That will take you to a very quiet and secluded open area just above Still Creek where you can pitch your tent. Still Creek will be flowing through your sleep all night long. It did for us for 2 glorious nights. If you can get site #13 go for it. You will not be disappointed.

It was Labor Day weekend, and the nights had already been paid for. Let me start in order of events. Let me say this first, if it hadn't been a holiday weekend and we were in the area for a wedding we would have moved on to another hotel, probably without a refund. When we checked in was the first we knew about the $100. There wasn't much we could do but let them put a 'hold' which actually charged and processed it from the bank account. When we went to our room the floor was uneven, I set my rolling suitcase down, it rolled to the other side of the room. They advertised the following: Free Wireless Internet Available - We were not able to get on the internet the entire time we were there. This was very inconvenient. We tried on three different devices. Laundry Facilities - Luckily this was true, though I only saw it as we drove by, so I do not know the condition. Memory Foam Bedding in ALL Rooms - Notice they have capitalized ALL, well if we had memory foam in our room it had forgotten! They were terrible. Jet Tubs in many rooms - We didn't even have a tub let alone a Jet one. A VERY small bathroom with small shower. The bathroom was scary dirty. There was no place to set our toothbrushes and toiletries on. We opened the medicine cabinet, and it was filthy. The toilet was a round one and the seat oblong, so it hung over a few inches. The space between the seat and the tank was all filled with dirt and hair. It makes me sick to think we had to use it. It said they had a hair blower, they did not. The outlet in the bathroom did not even work. I had to plug my curling iron in, in the kitchen. The health department really does need to have a surprise inspection on this property The small kitchen was okay, we didn't really use it. They only had a small garbage can in there and one in the bathroom. We ended up leaving a sack full by the can in the kitchen so as not to leave our wrappers or anything around. The place was left as we found it. When we got home, I called to talk to them about the $100 it took me and my daughter two days to actually get someone to answer the phone. No answering machine, it just rang. When I finally got through the lady was polite but argued with me about the hold. She finally looked somewhere else and found they had charged us. She verified the last 4 digits of the credit card and promised to refund it, and that I would see it yesterday. It has not been refunded. In my opinion this is fraud and/or out and out steeling. I'm contacted the area Chamber of Commerce about what I could do to get the $100 refunded.

They communicated really well from the start, when I booked the rental months in advance. And it's only a few minutes drive to town for groceries or other necessities. This specific dwelling is extremely private, simply surrounded by trees and nature. The parking space allowed for easy access to the treehouse entrance, and it was absolutely stunning inside. Plenty of seating options for lounging in the living area, as well as outdoors on the balcony. A kitchen with dishes and paper towels, we were able to put together a nice dinner on Saturday evening. There was also a firepit outside, but no cooking inside the treehouse, just a microwave. There were plenty of plush towels in the bathroom, and the bed in the loft was soft and comfy (a ladder leading to the upper level). They had an in-wall AC unit, central heating, as well as portable heaters and fans throughout, making it convenient to reach a comfortable temperature in any room. And they also offered board games such as scrabble, wine-opoly, and conversation starter card decks, which seem ideal for couples. We enjoyed TwoSome, a game where we win together or lose together. Seriously, this was a good one (though it was missing one card). Even though they don't offer wifi service here, we had no problems accessing the internet on our phones during our stay (T mobile). And it's only a 2-3 minute walk to the river, just over the train tracks, the area peaceful and gorgeous, with magnificent views, and the water a lovely temperature for swimming. I was enamored with the whole experience, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway.

Enjoyed our time in the cabin and loved the soaking tub on the back patio, with the view of the river. We did hear quite a few trains go by throughout the night and morning. Was not a fan of the cabin above us (cabin 7 I think?). They had tons of kids running around and up and down the stairs making it hard for us to enjoy and relax. Lots of thuds and thumping and super inconsiderate to us below them. The neighbor right next to us had a dog with them that kept barking when we were using the soaking tub, so we didn't get to use it very long the evening we got there, but we were able to enjoy it early in the morning because the dog was quiet and did not continue to bark. Loved that there was a small record player in the cabin, but wish there was a bigger selection of records in the room and the lounge area. We did really like how close it was to all the breweries and restaurants. Would love to come back with friends next time!
