I happened to walk by around the time the restaurant first opened. I decided to try it out and am so happy I did! I ordered the vegetarian Thali, which I get at every restaurant that offers the dish and was not disappointed. Every portion on the plate was flavorful and paired well together. The mixed veggies were my favorite, but honestly it was all really good. Their mango lassi was the best I've ever had. It wasn't too sweet, and had more of a yogurt flavor, which is my favorite kind. OMG i love that they have a TRULY mild option. some places even though it's mild it's still a little too spicy for me but the butter chicken was SOOO GOOD! Felt a little small portion wise but very tasty. Garlic naan bread was SOO good, lightly toasted and crispy and flavorful. The rice was also good but didn't feel anything special. Service - got seated fairly quickly. They have a QR code you can scan to order. My friend and I were able to order separately and we also paid in the same browser were ordered from so it made checkout easy. Ambiance - nice mom and pop shop. The food here is delicious! We ordered the garlic naan, butter chicken, and saag paneer. The portions were more than enough and perfect for 2 people. You can also choose your spice to be mild medium or hot which is nice. I definitely want to come back and try some of their tandoori and biryani dishes. We were wandering down Polk, planning on stopping at one of our regular restaurants for dinner, when we noticed the new sign up on the building. Since we were already thinking of Indian food, we figured we'd give this new place a try. The menu is quite expansive with a wide range of Indian, Nepalese, and Indo-Chinese dishes. The vegetarian options are also very generous with vegetables or paneer for fillings. My partner chose the chicken momos, while I went with the butter paneer. Our food came out in a timely fashion and were all very generous portions. The spicing was absolutely perfect, the right level of heat and savory taste. A delicious and cool mango lassi helped contrast the heat (and is one of the better ones I've had in a long time!) The staff was super kind and attentive and made sure we were taken care of. He also told us a bit about starting the restaurant. With the qualify of food and service, we will definitely be back to try a few other dishes that look interesting! read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant after a visit at the SF Moma. The restaurants close to the financial district were closed as it was Sunday. It was almost 3 PM, and the closest Indian restaurant as per Google was Thegoldenyak. After crossing a few not so appealing ethnic restaurants like The Casa, Curry, Vietnamese, etc, we walked into a white washed bright diner with pictures of scenic Nepal mountains on the walls. Few tables were occupied and we settled for a small table. The party next to us told us to move to a larger table because we would not be able to fit the entrees in the tiny table as per them. The other guests vouched for the delicious food especially the "butter chicken". We thanked them but ordered vegetarian options, palak paneer without cream, and alloo gobi dry, well toasted. Taken the owner told us that the Naan was better than roti. Do we got a plain naan without butter. The food was fresh, not too spicy and satisfying. Shanti brought us a nice chai latte and we enjoyed hearing the story about how she learned to cook from an octogenarian Indian Punjabi chef that helped her open her own restaurant. We thanked the owners and drove back, thankful that we had found them because we had a 65 minutes drive home! read more

First of all, AVOID THE MANGO LASSI AT ALL COSTS. This was the first item we received and the awful taste of the lassi soured the rest of our dining experience. I preferred drinking water over this particular lassi. The goat biyrani had a tasty flavor profile, and the butter chicken was nice and buttery. It seems this restaurant's entrees are definitely worth trying. But for the love of all lassi's, please avoid ordering the mango lassi here. Everything we ordered was amazing! The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful--the best I've had. The Butter Lamb Curry was thick, buttery, creamy, and equally delicious. We also loved the momo dumplings that the server recommended, I couldn't remember the name of the dish. Maybe something like chili chicken (without being spicy). It has sweet and sour sauce with some lemony taste. My daughter wanted it, and I didn't expect to enjoy the sweet sauce so much, but it paired perfectly with the dumplings and was absolutely delicious. The server was very nice and he's awesome!!
