How does this place have a decent rating? Worst service I have EVER had. Waiter never checked on us, drinks never refilled, never got silverware, waited over an hour for food and then plates came out ONE BY ONE in the span of 45 mins. One person got their food after we were all finished and waiting for the bill. Maybe the food could save it? No. Mediocre at best, one plate was inedible (hangover plate) with undercooked eggs and sausage. My wife and I visited for brunch on September 20, 2020. We met General Manager Maria Horta when she noticed me taking a photo of a mural inside the restaurant (see attached photo). It was created by a local Las Vegas tattoo artist. This venue was a former Dollar Store about five years ago and you would never know it after walking inside. The décor is tasteful and a bit hipster. Maria was telling us what a struggle it has been to keep her bartenders and servers working. They do double duty and the restaurants has taken out several loans to stay afloat. She told us they are re-inventing their menu on a daily basis to attract customers. They have added an QR code to each table top to download there menu to your cellphone. This eliminates printed menus which could potentially spread the virus. I ordered the Chick Biscuit, which has fresh buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken, and bacon and sausage gravy. They bring two biscuits, which are so thick it's like two biscuits in one. Resting on top of the thick biscuits are two cutlets of fried chicken. There was a lot of food and it tasted wonderful covered in that gravy. Definitely check out the brunch here. If you are in Vegas stop by this local restaurant near Freemont Street. We came for restaurant week and tried their Mexican Style set menu. It consisted of the Mexican street corn fritters, Hawaiian pork belly tacos, birria tacos, and the churro sandwich with horchata ice cream. The corn fritters were good, I would probably order those again. They were topped with feta cheese and Mexican crema on the side. Very yummy with a nice bit of spice. The tacos were alright. They were both in hefty blue corn tortillas, which I liked, though the pork belly tacos toed the line of being too sweet. The churro sandwich was supremely disappointing for me. Despite the churro being fried perfectly and coated well in cinnamon sugar, it could not cover the fact that the batter was horrifically bland. No matter what part of the churro I tasted, it was a huge, bland disappointment. And the ice cream didn't taste like horchata. But the dulce de leche was delicious. I applaud Therapy participating in restaurant week and contributing to the food bank, and was happy it gave me a chance to discover them. My decision to visit this bar was influenced by its supposedly stellar Yelp reviews, but the reality fell short of expectations. While the drink was passable and the appetizer left much to be desired, it was the tipping policy that left me utterly disappointed. Upon receiving the bill, I was shocked to discover that the tip had already been added, purportedly based on the "market average," without my consent. As a customer, I believe tipping should be discretionary, reflective of the quality of service received. This pre-added tip felt deceitful and robbed me of the opportunity to gauge the service and tip accordingly. despite this mandatory tip, they still had the audacity to hand me a pen, as if inviting me to add even more to the bill. I'll give you the best advice I can after a long trip in Vegas: go to Therapy. We came in here for after-dinner drinks and a quick snack. I loved our server, he made great recommendations and was very attentive! I got two things: truffle fries and a Shock Therapy. I first have to tell you that the kitchen was out of fries and made the truffle fries on sweet potatoes, and I think I may have preferred them that way? It was incredible. The sweetness of the potato complemented the earthy truffle flavor, and it was topped with the perfect amount of garlic and parmesan. I had just come from dinner and couldn't order any more, but I wish I ate here instead. That grilled cheese looked incredible. The Shock Therapy was so much fun. The drink was so fruity and was rimmed with Pop Rocks, it was literally electric in your mouth. It was one of the most unique and delicious cocktails I've had, and I know that all the drinks here are delicious! I cannot recommend this place enough, whether for snacks and drinks like us, or if you're luckier and sit for a meal. read more
