Great clothes, great selection, fun fun store. I love the style of this store. I always find a cool top for both my husband and I - how many stores can you say that about? I wish the prices were a tad less, but I'm willing to pay a little more for the cool styles. They also have a good (but small) selection of shoes and purses. For clothes they have women's, men's and a Paul Frank selection of children's clothes. They also have a wide assortment of gifts and home decor items. Therapy is a pretty interesting store, nice set up. They have tons of cool knick knacks and cool art books. Not a lot of men's selection in clothing, but they have cool hats and other guy accessories I suppose. They also sell some vinyl blind boxes and other vinyl toys. The manager is soopa fly, I saw her putting signs in the window one day and she was stunning. I got to talk to her and she's super nice too. It'll be a sad day in Burlingame if the store leaves. It'll reduce the the hipness factor of the city ten fold. read more

Therapy has slowly become my favorite go to store for just about any reason. I love going into it and just walking around. They have such fun things that are pretty and quirky....from clothes to cups to jewelry to cards to bags....I could leave that store spending a lot of money. To this day there was a blue purse I saw about 4 years ago...and have regretted not buying it ever since. I go into the store every time knowing it won't be there but still looking anyways.....how sad. Oh Therapy.... Went to their location in North Beach off of Grant and loved that locale just as much. This is my favorite store on Burlingame Ave. it reminds me of a small Urban Outfitters. I really love to browse. Some of the things are pricey, but sometimes you can get a good deal. For the holidays, I bought a bunch of cashmere scarves for cheap. They were all so soft and had amazing patterns. I particularly love their accessories. they are all so cute and quiant! I recommend you stop by when your around. They have moved though. they used to be on a street off of Burlingame Ave. now they are next to the Verizon Wireless store where A Pea in a Pod used to be. Therapy is probably one of the cheaper clothing stores in the Burlingame Avenue area, yet still overpriced. I found a dress that I had bought for $30 on Fillmore St. selling for double the price. Ridiculous. I still love the ambience, friendly workers, and dress/purse selection. We live in Burlingame and often frequent this store for gifts and interior pieces. We recently bought a gorgeous couch from their San Francisco Valencia street store and got to pick the fabric, trim,style and buttons exactly as we wished. After we ordered the couch, the store called to say the fabric we ordered was on back order, so would take 3 months to come in. We were understandably upset, but Wayne ( the owner and super cool dude) offered to lend us a 'replacement' couch for our house for the full 3 months! Joel the shop manager was fabulous in helping us with all our needs, from picking the fabric to walking us through the ordering and payment processes they provide (bonus!) The best part was that once we got the replacement couch in our house, we realized we wanted to change the dimensions of the original we purchased, and voila! They accommodated immediately. Could not be happier with the service of this store and would highly recommend their hipster/retro furniture made to order to anyone. read more

Great, fun shop with many humorous, unique, and entertaining gifts. On a recent visit to the Bay Area, my teenaged daughter and I found much to make us laugh, and a handful of perfect gifts to take home with us. Two suggestions: One, the card racks seemed ill-tended, with a hodge-podge of different lines and odds and ends on 2 of them, while the third rack was virtually bare. Secondly, the clothing racks occupying the rear third of the shop were overstuffed and unappealing, with little visual appeal to tempt a person to investigate what were probably some very cute items of apparel. With the rest of the shop so carefully, and skillfully curated and merchandised, the disarray of the cards and clothing seemed out of place. Take it up a notch, if you're listening........ read more

I've bought several dresses, shirts and coats here and always get compliments. They have some cute wrap dresses, which I often can't refuse. I dug this store a lot. I stumbled in randomly looking for a gift for my wife. It is easy to find right on Burlingame Ave for us out-of-towners. I also appreciated how affordable many of the items were. Unfortunately, that can't be said for many of the store's neighbors. They had just painted the store the night before, so things were sort of a mess, but it wasn't a big deal. They had a wide variety of merchandise from lots of local artists, and my wife really liked the necklace that I got for here here. All in all, the biggest positive note was the employee who helped me pick out the gift. She was was extremely helpful without being pushy at all. Meh...this store is not all it's cracked up to be. I went in there with my sister and my cousin and the store was SO CLUTTERED!! I can't find anything in there!!! I went to the Burlingame location. I'm not so sure that the other locations are the same or not. The staff is either ignoring you or trying too hard to make a sale. Not the experience I'm looking for. Therapy is off Burlingame Ave. so make sure you don't miss it. It's the perfect store if you're shopping for fun, unique gifts for both guys and girls. They have really fun books (think Urban Outfitters' book section), bath products from Dirty Girl and Miso Pretty, trendy but cheap clothes and accessories, including shoes by Seychelles and handbags. You can also find some cool mens' wear here too. The really nice sales associate helping me was wearing a "Fresno... It really does suck here" t-shirt and she grew up in Fresno - awesome! I've come here numerous times wanting to love the store. I like the quirky gifts but the clothing is really overpriced for what it is. Sure, it's funky and different but I don't know: I'm not convinced. Plus, their sale rack is totally skimp. And 10% off for the last item? Come on. Ten percent hardly even qualifies as a discount. I had heard of this place through my friends and they all really liked it so when I was Burligame one day I decided to stop on in. When I walked in it looked like they weren't much of a clothing store but its all in the back. When I finally got around to looking at their clothes (because they have alot of other knick knacks available) I really liked alot of their stuff. They weren't all that expensive. I would easily pay the money they are asking for their clothes. So why only 3 stars? Because I have been to this store two times, TWICE!!, and neither of the times have I been greeted! They see me walk in because we had made eye contact and not a single word was spoken to me. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine especially since I have worked in retail over 2 years and have many friends who have worked in retail. I mean really, is it THAT hard to throw out a " hey, hows it going", even a half ass'ed one is better then nothing. I was finally acknowledged after making a good lasting eye contact with one of the employees like 15 minutes after I walked in. the first time i stepped into therapy was when i bought my dress for my 21st bday, and that was when they only had one on valencia. years later i have discovered about the one near my work in burlingame...this could be deadly. cute and quirky...everything from off the wall cards, fun knick-knacks, men/women apparel, accessories, shoes, and great purses and bags! i love the girls who work here... they love to shop, they know their clothes, and they are willing to help you find what you need. they also show you the cutest stuff, in result, you buy things that you don't need and didn't intend on buying. but who cares! anyone who enjoys watching you shop and is willing to help you shop is a gem in my eyes. my fave gal there is lei (hope i spelled your name right). she's so enthusiastic about what they sell and always steers me to fun stuff. no snooty girls here, the staff is warm and friendly. cheers to therapy! read more

i don't know how people leave this store without buying anything. i've done it a few times but only because i forgot my wallet. WHICH, by the way, i happened to buy at this exact therapy location. i took a walk during my lunch break one afternoon and wandered in - just to browse, i had no intentions of purchasing anything. naturally, that was not the case. i left with a fantastic orange hobo wallet which i love so much that i purposefully get myself into situations where i have to buy things simply so i can pull it out of my purse... which is now looking a little drab next to my new wallet. thank goodness there's a location closer to me in san francisco since i don't work in burlingame anymore. also... the employees here have been nothing but exceptionally sweet to me. they are conversational, engaging and helpful. read more

The first time I visited Therapy I about lost my mind. They were having a $9.95 clearance-type sale on their clothes and I felt like a squirrel who just stumbled upon a pile of nuts. Since then, I haven't seen another $9.95 sale, but love going back to get my mini-shopping fix. There's a lot of great purses and shoes, although it may be hard to get your size. A lot of great wallets and home accessories can be found here as well as some small art pieces. read more

Cool little eclectic shop we found while in Burlingame. It sells clothes, cards, games, books, knickknacks, costume jewelry, purses, wallets, shoes...... I bought a cute little skirt there that's so soft! I kind of laughed at some of the candy that they had on display. The cherry flavored tarts are for guys and the label on the box said "I'm not a bad lay" and the lime flavored ones said "I'm not an Asian tourist". Instructions on the box told you how to display them "discreetly". read more

I would say they would be given less than one star if possible. I stopped in this place to shop with my girlfriend and was disappointed. First they didn't acknowledge us and continued not to acknowledge us pretty much the whole time. Second they had one rack of clothing for men which sucked. Being that I live in the neighborhood I support stores who give back to the community. I have never seen them support other local businesses. I would definately endorse Dirty Laundry as I know that they throw parties and fashion shows including shows for the high schools and middle schools. They sit on Primrose rd. a couple blocks from Therapy. I know because my nephew was in the fashion show at the local middle school. I have even got a chance to meet the owners who are cool people as they are there several times a week. I also endorse Zenys boutique and Platform 626, both of which are in the same area. Zenys boutique was on MTVs Sweet Sixteen, cool spot. Mostly girl stuff but the owners are very nice. Anyway, TWO THUMBS DOWN with 0 stars...!!!!! This store reminds me of Spencer Gifts which I used to frequent say 20 years ago. What? You say Spencer still exist at your neighborhood mall? Well, I knew that, but I would never go in there now! I would, however, have no compunction about going in this craza-zy place. They have everything -- clothing, shoes, G-rated and maybe some R-rated toys, stationery, you name it, they got it.
