I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I've come here twice, and both times I was met with kindness, courtesy, respect, and knowledge. Cody, the service tech who helped me both times, was extremely helpful and got what I needed fixed in a timely manner. I was updated when things were finished, and was even given some advice about the future possibilities of upgrading parts. Seeing how I purchased a PC through Cyber power (which I do not recommend), I had some iffy parts, that could be replaced. Guess what, TheWrightPc has all those parts available in store, and if not in store, can easily help figure out solutions. My motherboard died so I went to them to confirm and replace it. I was told they found a replacement and would install it. When I arrived the clerk said its the same motherboard however, the keyboard backlight does not line up with the new motherboard and does not work. I said that's ok, and would just replace the keyboard to match as my current keyboard has aged. However, while gaming I noticed a roughly 20% drop in FPS on all games. I troubleshooted the issue and found that THEY GAVE ME A DOWNGRADED GRAPHICS CARD. I am supposed to have a RTX 2070 NVidia. However, they gave me a mother board with a GTX 1660Ti. I was not made aware of the downgraded GPU at the time of purchase and am now being told I am out of luck. I was told by the clerk when I called about the issue that HE did not check to see if it was the same graphics card. Only that it would work. I understand if it is an accident. However, I am still left waiting to speak to the owner to see if they can work with me to fix this mix up. I am awaiting a call from the owner. If he can make this right I will update accordingly. My boyfriend came to this store just wanting to ask and see if they would buy his old ASUS computer, the sign printed on the door of the business literally states "sell your old computer here", as soon as we walked in the worker states "why would I buy a broken computer" before giving us attitude and telling us we would have to wait a 48 hour period and fill out a binder of paper work to see if he would even consider buying it, don't waste your time here. read more

I went to buy a mounting bracket and was told by a employee that it was $5 on the phone, but the manager of the store tried to sell it to me for $20. I explained it was a different price on the phone and he honored it but was a complete jerk to me while ringing me out. After paying for the item he said that "I should have gone to Fry's Electronics instead." When arriving back home I noticed that my product was incomplete and didn't include the back plate. So what I purchase was useless an not was described while on the phone. Would not recommend shopping here at all. read more

Such poor customer service and completely unprofessional behavior. The man boys in charge of this store are allowed to provide false timelines, are incapable of professional communication, and completely endorse each other's rude and unprofessional behavior. I tend to think 99% of the problem, besides the fact they seemed to be generally unempathetic humans, is that I'm a woman so they felt entitled to speak to me like a child. It's absurd they think they can speak to customers that way while letting their misogyny shine through. If I had been a male client with a complaint, I'm sure I would have been treated with respect instead of having the manager Gary make a veiled insult about my intelligence and act like I was unreasonable to expect him to not support his subordinate Cody speaking rudely to me, multiple times. I was also told the owner, Kurt, declined to speak to me, so he must not be concerned about how his business is represented. It's truly sad to be asking people to support small business on the side of your building and then to treat them like trash. When you treat your customers this badly, I can see why you're struggling for business. There wasn't a single part of this experience that was worth $300 to be treated like my time or money didn't hold value -- I lost an account because they couldn't be organized enough to provide a proper timeline of completed repair and then I was insulted when I complained. Truly disgraceful behavior by "professionals." If you live in 2020 and don't support boys parading as men who respond to a woman being right with the emotions of 12 year olds, then take your business elsewhere. I brought my laptop in to get the hinge repaired and explained to them I don't close the lid because it could further damage the screen. They ordered the part, but when I came back they had closed the lid and further damaged the hinge. Then after they fixed it they explained I was "lucky" I brought it in when I did because the other hinge was close to the wiring and if they hadn't saved it in time it would have cause real damage to my computer... The owner then went on to tell me that I shouldn't have bought a cheap computer. My computer wasn't cheap and I really didn't appreciate his comments. When they were fixing the hinge they cracked my touchscreen and put in another one that didn't fit. Then the owner tried telling me the screen that had been on it hadn't been a touchscreen. It was and it had worked. I had turned it off. Then the screen they replaced it with got a large black section in it a few days in and I brought it back to have the screen replaced with one that would fit and that wasn't malfunctioning. They said it would be ready Tuesday, but then for three days after they wouldn't answer their phone and never called me to say it was done. My husband was able to go to their shop and pick up my laptop finally on Friday. I found they had replaced the screen with one that fit, but isn't a touchscreen!!! These have to be the most incompetent bunch of morons I've ever met. read more

since the early '90 I have bought in the neighborhood of 10 laptops between 4 kids going thru high school and college. I have never bought a refurbished PC. My wife and me stopped into TheWrightPC to see if it was worth upgrading an old kids hand me down Laptop which still had windows 7 installed. Greg was very helpful and explained that we could trade up to a 3 year old Dell Latitude which was refurbished to windows 10. I have used these guys since 2009 BUT was REALLY disappointed this year. I brought my desktop,and laptop in for cleaning. First I asked for a new battery for the laptop (along with the cleaning). 2 1/2 weeks later I FINALLY was able to come to pick up the laptop and lo and behold they had NOT cleaned it. Just installed the new battery. So I took it back and a week later I was able to pick it up again. I get home and no Google browser and when I tried to download Google Chrome ..... I ended up with a bunch of adware etc. I took it back and they offered to 'fix' it for another $ 75.00. I took the laptop to another PC repair business and was told that Wright PC had really screwed me. Not only did they not clean it completely but they had left me NO anti-virus (which they usually do). I paid this other repair place $30.00 and everything is working fine. In the past 2 months I spent over $300.00 with them but NO MORE. read more

I had a crypt locker virus attack my files on my desktop and external hard drive. Kirk and team checked that the virus was removed but unfortunately couldn't retrieve my files. They worked diligently for days researching programs to find a way to get them back. A minimal charge of $25 was all I had to pay. I appreciate the effort! Best Buy's Geek Squad didn't even plug anything into my drives to attempt to retrieve my data. Any other issues I have with my software, I'm taking my business to TheWright PC! read more

I had a laptop problem and stopped at this place about 15 minutes before they were opening. Some long haired nerd came up and started interrogating me and why I was there. I told him I had a laptop problem, did not know the place wasn't open yet, and was waiting to get my laptop looked at. Apparently this guy worked there, so he told me they are not open yet. I really only had a general question about my laptop, and so I asked him and he told me he wasn't sure if he had the time to help me because he needed to open the store first. I asked him the question anyway, and he gave me some half-assed answer, then told me he really doesn't have time to talk to me about my laptop because he needed to go open the store for the day, which was The Wright PC, where he worked, where his job is to help people fix their computers among other things. I have to say this hippie looking nerd was probably the most anti-social, rude, dismissive asshole I have ever met who works at a business that is supposed to serve the needs of customers. That was my very first experience with this shitty place. I took my laptop to Bits & Bytes at Elliot & Alma, they were the complete opposite. I wrote a long review on how they have helped me, my sister, and my friend, and how great they've always been. They are everything that The Wright PC is not. My second experience with The Wright PC was when my laptop power cord went out and would not charge the battery. I knew the battery was good because it was a stronger new one, but the cable had started giving me problems after I yanked it out of a plug. Anyway, I simply just needed another power cord. Of course there is no way in hell I would have even considered going back to The Wright PC after that first experience, but I had a lab meeting that afternoon and needed to recover some data from my laptop for a presentation, so I needed a power cord ASAP. Unfortunately, my favorite place Bits & Bytes had sold the last power cord they had that would have worked for my laptop, which is kind of an obscure Acer Model, so it is not an easy power cord to find, and so Bits & Bytes didn't have an extra one in stock. That's not a bad thing, because they were nice about it. But, I ended up being in a position where I needed a power cord asap, so since I knew The Wright PC had parts, I stopped by there that morning before heading to Fry's Electronics, where I knew they had them for like $40. I hate going to Fry's because they and Best Buy tend to rip people off on cheaper parts that always need to be replaced. It is like when an auto mechanic charges you $80 to fix a fuse. Anyway, knowing that you can find a power cord on eBay or other online sites for about $15, but knowing I did not have that kind of time, I reluctantly tried The Wright PC. The guy working there ignored me for over 20 minutes while he stood there ripping off some poor guy. The employee there was charging some poor guy over $300 to add memory and reload a new version of Windows. They charged him like over $100 just in service charges, and kept trying to induce him to trade in his laptop for one of the models they had for sale in their shop, which were not actually as good as the computer he had. He had a pretty good Toshiba with a newer processor, which had Windows standard on it, so they were essentially trying to convince him to downgrade and pay for it. After finally acknowledging me 20 minutes after I walked in the door, I had my laptop and explained my situation, showing them the old power cord that needed to be replaced. The guy grabbed a bucket full of used power cords and started trying random ones to see if they would give my computer a charge. After like 4 tries, he found one that fit, had the right voltage, and then proceeded to try to sell it to me for like $45. I told him to go to hell. This is exactly what auto mechanics do. They know you're in a shitty situation, need your car or laptop back asap, so they take advantage of the situation and try to rip you off and make the most money out of you that they can. This guy even had the nerve to try to suggest I should trade in my laptop and buy one of theirs, which were overpriced and used. I can't believe that guy also had the nerve to try to sell me a used power cord for $45, when I can get a new one on eBay for $15. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These guys will rip you off, overcharge you on every little thing, try to sell you crap you don't need, and if you are in a dire situation they will try to take advantage of you and overcharge you. These guys are quite literally the sketchiest computer business I've ever come across. These are the kinds of people you do not want having access to private data on your hard drive. Do not take your business to these guys. I have always had a great experience with Bits & Bytes at Elliot & Alma. Their reviews show how reliable and honest they are. **Why These Guys Really Have 5 Pages Of BAD REVIEWS** - Heres my situation. Bought a laptop here in February 2015 for 500+ a trade in. I also bought the 1 year accidental coverage warranty that they recommended for an additional 69.99 plus tax. I registered my warranty that day and 9 months later I have an accident, a spill on my keyboard and I file a claim. The claim is DENIED within minutes because they sold me a warranty that covered a product under $200, my product was 519 and I was referred back to Wright PC. Now Greg wont give me any information and all of a sudden Kirk is on vacation for 3 weeks!! HMMM, Wonder who he was talking to when he put me on hold 20 times? Small claims court here we come! Nobody has yet to even look at my computer. GREAT WARRANTY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE GUYS!! **NOT!!** I work online as well as go to school online full time. This has been a HUGE inconvenience that the company swears is not their fault! THANKS for NOTHING but a false sense of security with a warranty that was actually VOID BEFORE I ACTIVATED IT!! WOW. I had a horrible experience with them. Do yourself a favor and read all of the filtered reviews. I won an Ebay auction from them for a Macbook logic board. The board they delivered me was not the same as pictured, didn't work, and looked like a 5 year old went to town on it with a soldering iron and hot glue gun in an attempt to "repair" it. I returned it and never received a refund. When all was said and done, by the time I was fed up with them and tried to file an Ebay complaint it was too late and I missed the deadline for Ebay's buyer protection, which would have been incredibly helpful seeing as they refused to refund my money. So what does any normal person do when they're out $150 bucks with nothing to show for it besides a bad taste in their mouth? I filed a complaint with the BBB. And when I tell you they saved my life (figuratively speaking).. They did me a solid! I told them what I needed and they did exactly that and I got my phone back the same day! I used to be a customer at their Warner/Alma School store for years. The people that worked there were consumer friending and fast. I took my desktop to their new location on Baseline and it looks like a whole new crew. All young kids. Not once did I get an update call. I had to call everyday for updates. Their people have no communication skills. It took five days for a small fix. Once I got it back, it started back up again but now my email will not work and the computer will not recognize my cell phone when plugged in.. They lost me..... read more

I popped a cap on my motherboard so dropped it off for repair. My eyes are bad and my hands shake to try and fix it myself. While I was there I decided to upgrade my DVD player to a Blu-Ray read write. Wow what a difference, even with my bad eyes I can tell the difference in picture quality even with standard DVD's. Customer since 1999 and I won't go anywhere else. These guys are good and always do fast quality work at very reasonable prices. read more

I went to the Wright PC to purchase a computer for basic college needs, word procesing, web browsing, the ability to burn CD's, DVDs etc. When I first went into the shop, the man behind the counter seemed very friendly. He said he had just the thing for me, and showed me a "New" Compaq laptop. He told me that if I traded in my old broken laptop, he would give me $150 off the "New" laptop. So i did just that, and purchased the "New" Compaq. When I get home, I find the that not only is the computer not new, it is glitchy. He sold me a refurbished computer, and told me it was new. My invoice even said it was new. After returning to complain about the poor performance computer and to find out why I was told I was buying a "New" computer I was told that "You bought a new re-furbished computer" WFT is that?? New re-furbished? Right... I said I would like for them to take the laptop back and give me full in store credit for an actual NEW COMPUTER. I come to find out that they only have 1, thats right, 1 new laptop in the whole store. Everything else in that store is used. AND, the new laptop was made by Msi, a little known about cheap manufacturer. Bottom line? Do not go to the Wright PC and hope to get a good deal on a new computer. You would be lucky to find an actual new computer there. In the end I am stuck with my glitchy, poor performing re-furbished Compaq. Thanks. read more

So my physical hard drive failed with 512Gb of stuff not backed up because I let it slip. I have many places I could go, some right across the street but I go to WrightPC because I've gone to them for about 8 years. I looked up online to see if they could do data recovery and read some of the other reviews. Some people didn't seem to like them so I thought, "get over yourselves, The WrightPC does the right thing and they get it done." They couldn't recover from the Hard Drive because it was a serious failure, but they put in a solid state drive and revved up my machine. Now my old hard-drive is mounted on a wooden base I made labeled: "Tomb of Dreams." Five-hundred and twelve gigabytes is a lot to lose. Maybe I'll try a GoFundMe someday. Afterward, the WrightPC sent me a card; I thought, "thank you" card? It was a card reminding me to write a review and it had a crisp $20 bill inside. I thought, "how thoughtful." I took my granddaughters to the candy store and when I went to use the $20 bill, the store manager looked at it kind of funny and said I had a counterfeit bill! The police came and my granddaughters cried and I thought I was a goner until one police officer noticed that the $20 bill had the words "copy money" on it. Whew, I was so glad to avoid the slammer but I used my debit card and the granddaughters were happy. A Treasury agent did visit me at home but on an unrelated manner. read more

In 2015 I brought a computer in for a HD replacement that had an authorized copy of Office 2007 on it. They replaced the HD and upgraded my copy of MS Office to 2010 but they did not give me an activation code. 2.5 years later I get a pop up that says my Office 2010 is not activated. The store says it's a virus and directs me to sites that try to hack the activation key. I called Microsoft, paid the fee, and they remote'd into my computer to verify that the ONLY issue with it was that it needed an activation key. I reported the store to Microsoft as possibly selling unlicensed versions of MS products. I don't know if it will do any good but I for one m never going back. On the plus side MS gave me an authorized version of office 2013 for $50 and now all is well. read more
