    Banh Mi Xiu Mai Bi

Thiem Hung entering the Banh Mi Race as well! Doing well- reflection of contemporary style in the mother country. Xíu Mại Bì Hành Mỡ with refined thinly sliced curly green onions. Plenty of tender pork meat balls and Bì. The only chunky condiment is the pickled carrot and daikon. Cukes, jalapeño, curly green onion all thinly sliced.

The best bo ne/Vietnamese steak and egg. The beef is so tender and it just melts in your mouth. Their pate and butter also goes great with the bread. Portions are really good. You definitely will be filled up. Bo ne is one of those cuisines that you have to take your time to eat in order to savor every taste. This place is a hidden gem. Located in a small plaza. The inside isn't too big so there can be a wait when it's crowded. Always be careful when you're eating bo ne because it comes out on a sizzling hot plate. You can practically see the steam coming out of it. It's always exciting because it smells so good and it's best to eat while it's sizzling. This place has become my favorite place to get bo ne in town.

    Regular Bo Ne

Easy to find, plenty of parking and spacious inside with lots of seating. I got the regular Bo Ne (5/5) - the meat is flavorful, but the bread could use some more toasting. Rau ma (5/5) Over all, bomb azz Bo Be place. I will definitely be coming back here often.

I came here for the bo ne and it was just okay. The service was mediocre. I waited about 20 minutes to get water. The place wasn't packed or busy, it just seemed that they forgot. I ordered the Bo Ne Dac Biet, which is the special bo ne option, it has slightly more meat than the regular for $2 extra. The bread that came out with it was perfect, crispy and fresh out the oven. The bo ne however was just okay. I think it's a little on the sweet side, sweeter than most bo ne places. However it wasn't bad. 3/5 I give places 3 tries before I absolutely don't return so maybe it can just be a bad day. I'll update whenever I come back one day. I heard so much rave from family about this place and when I went with them, they said today wasn't good. So that can honestly be the verdict for itself.

Bad service. Be aware! Always check what they charge you! Roach in my drink. Overcharge with special bun when I got regular one.

Side salad and BANH BAO ($3 each)

Translation of the Menu: - Steak and egg with extra meat - Steak with two eggs - Standard steak and egg - Steamed dumpling pastry with pork and salted egg/ or with chicken - Fried dumpling pastry with pork and salted egg/ or with chicken - The rest are drinks - I got the BO NE, the standard steak and egg. It also comes with a small pork meatball. They ask you beforehand how well you want your steak to be done. The entree does come out on a sizzling plate so it does cook a little more. The sauce is on the sweet side. The bread was perfectly crunchy and paired nicely with the butter and pate. There was also a side salad that comes out first. It was lettuce, jalapeno, and white onions. They're most known for their BANH BAO. People came in and bought it by the boxes. 4 in a box for $12. I had it for breakfast the next morning and it was pretty good. The soft white bread was slightly sweet and there were pieces of radish in the pork filling that gave it a crunch.

    Salted Egg Bao

I always come here for the salted egg banh bao and it never disappoints. I also ordered the banh mi and it wasn't my favorite. $6 and not as much meat.

A very solid 4.5 stars!! My lash lady recommended this place to me as one that she ventures to frequently just for their bo ne aka Vietnamese steak and eggs. The bf wanted BBQ and I didn't want something that heavy - so this was the compromise! Cubed steak seasoned perfectly with onions caramelized onto a sizzling platter with a sunny side up egg! It's served with fresh warm baguettes - also perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and tender on the inside. It comes with lettuce and mayo/pate and it is delicious! This place is known for their bo ne aka steak and eggs and I think they only (literally) have less than 10 items on the menu. They have this and a beef special - whatever that is! They also serve banh baos aka Vietnamese hum baos or white buns filled with seasoned ground pork, Chinese sausage and a hard boil egg! My grandma use to make this and it was a day's work to make the dough, make the filling, stuff the buns and then steam them! Oh how I miss them and this place makes them exactly like she did. Even the bf enjoyed them and he's a bit picky. The pork was just seasoned well and so juicy with its wood ear mushrooms, jicama, green onions, etc. I ordered coconut juice but they do not speak English at all and gave us some other drink with coconut milk, beans and jello. Pretty delicious nonetheless but I couldn't tell you what it was or how to order it again. We even ordered the banh baos to-go! They mistakenly thought I ordered them fried - my Vietnamese and pointing skills must be horrible :) So I ended up getting the fried ones and the normal ones to-go. They freeze up well and you can steam them when you want to eat them, if you plan on keeping them long term. Or else they stay in the fridge for a little while and you can reheat them in the microwave. Watch out for the egg though, it might explode in the microwave! Overall, minus the language barrier and miscommunication - the food was fantastic. Don't expect much in terms of decor - it is a hole in the all with delicious food. People kept walking in ordering boxes of their banh baos to-go and he knew we wanted the steak and eggs. That's how you know they're good! They specialize in two things and they do it well!

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Regardless, definitely give this place a go to come for a pastry and coffee.

I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
