This place is a literal joke -preciously I have given them good reviews but my negative experience had been building over the last year and I have waited to post a review in hopes that they would make things right but never did -when I first used this company they were responsive, fast, affordable, and nice. Cut to a little over a year ago when we had them replace our entire HVAC system -as soon as that job was done we were having issues with the air and Donald told us he was moving to North Carolina and closing his business so there wasn't much they could do -they did seem to fix whatever was going on but we've heard a "buzzing" sound in the walls every time the air kicks on since and Donald shrugged his shoulders and said "it's probably something electrical" then about a month ago our heat stopped working -we called Thin Air since they were still listed as a business and we should have a warranty with them -Donald (who moved to North Carolina) answered the phone and sent Dominic out about 7 hours later -Dominic said he "did some things to make it turn back on" but suggested we add more vents to the house. I asked Dominic about Donald and he said that he (Dominic) actually own the business now and Donald was here visiting and "helping" him then Dominic asked for payment even though we had a warranty-two days ago our heat went out again -we called and guess who answered-Donald-and he was nice until we gave him the address-Donald said he'd send someone out by the end of the day and no one ever came and they didn't answer any of our calls after that. Bottom line -these dudes are SHADY AF -BEWARE! read more

Be extra cautious! I used Thin Air 2 years ago, no issues. I hired them again for two other projects.  One of them was done quickly.  The second project has been outstanding with work half done for 5 months.  Each time I call, Donald has a different excuse.-my work vehicle broke down-my wife left me-my dad is really sick, I am sick and I just got out of the hospital.-my wife took my kids, I am going through a hard time.-its on my schedule, we will be out there to finish it up Sunday (this occurred twice).-in a text, his daughter said Donald was in the hospital but will surely get the crew to finish up....... At this point, I do not believe anything they have to say.  The court will have to resolve this. read more

Thin Air likely saved my house! My furnace stopped working late on a Sunday night when the temperature was hovering around 0 degrees Fahrenheit. I started calling 24-hour HVAC companies, and Don actually answered the phone at 11pm! He tried to walk me through a fix and stayed on the phone with me for almost a half an hour. When it didn't work, he scheduled a tech to come to our house the next morning. Ryan, the technician, arrived before 10am, and within about 20 minutes, he had found the source of the problem and made the repair. Our furnace was working again, and it was just in time for a night where it went down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit! If we hadn't had a working furnace that evening, I can't imagine our pipes would have survived. I had an amazing experience with these guys. Thank you, Thin Air! read more

I called Thin Air, because my 4 year old Samsung refrigerator wasn't cooling. I spoke to Donald, who was super nice. He sent out his employee, also nice, they diagnosed that I needed a new fan. They had to order the part. I paid them via check for $218. The next day, my fridge was working fine, again without any repairs. I call to get a refund on the part. Donald, the Owner, said it would break again, that he would hold on to the part. wasn't thrilled, but it sounded reasonable. 30 days after the initial call, my fridge stopped again. I called to schedule the install. Thin Air's main focus is HVAC, they were slammed taking care of people with no working AC in 98-100°F Denver heat in June 2021. At this point, they were too busy to install my part. Luckily my fridge started working again. Donald referred me to 5280 Appliance, said he would give them the part and that they could install it. Again, sounded reasonable. When 5280 came out to install, they said the fan part cost was $95, a lot less than $218, but that our fan was fine and that the issue was actilially that the door wasn't sealing properly causing the fan with a sensor attached to malfunction. He recomended getting washers to raise one of the doors which would fix the seal on the left door. Long story short, we paid $100 to 5280 Appliance only to tell me that I didn't need the $218 fan/sensor. I called Thin Air asking for a refund of my part. Crickets! I will amend this review if I can get this issue resolved. read more

Thin Air did not know how to repair our refrigerator. They replaced a component, but the refrigerator still did not work. They made appointments that they did not keep. When we asked them to come back because our refrigerator was still not working, they claimed they had come out 8-9 times, but they only came 3 times. After spending $500.00 with them, we have to call another service, because the problem is not fixed. read more

Our furnace was left dirty from a duct cleaning service that I won't use again. Donald responded immediately on a Saturday and fixed it at a reasonable price. He was supposed to come back on several occasions that we set up to fix our humidifier and install a valve but was a no show. I wish he had just told me he was too busy and I would have scheduled with someone else. read more

The power cord for my fridge was chewed through which created a short in the middle of the night, nearly causing a fire. This caused me a lot of anxiety, because I didn't want all the food to go to waste. Thankfully, Don was able to come out on EXTREMELY short notice (only three hours after I called) with the right replacement. Not only that, but he also was able to fix a leak in the fridge's fill line, which I hadn't noticed until after I called for service. Donald, the owner of Thin Air Appliance responded immediately to my request for quote using the Yelp thingy. (This ain't a review for Yelp). He was able to come out on a weekend to replace the fried drain pump on my dishwasher with parts on hand. Even with the VERY REASONABLE weekend markup, his service was more than a bargain. This is my Appliance guy. Full stop. When he arrived with his helper, they were able to fix everything in minutes. Even though the job was small, I felt like I was treated as a valued customer. Got the job done but at twice the price Our furnace went out a few months back and I've waited to post this in good faith hoping these guys would get their act together. Unfortunately, after nearly 3 months of waiting it's time. The first guy who came over didn't seem to know what he was doing, complained about "the Chinese" and smelled of weed...very professional...so another guy came by. Throughout the 2 days it took them to diagnose and fix the issue I was in regular contact with the boss. I was never given a specific price but 1000 dollars maximum was mentioned several times. At the end of the day they charged us 1800 bucks including 700 dollars for parts. Of course these parts are insured and I spent several "enjoyable" moments with Carrier confirming that fact. Unfortunately the folks at Thin Air didn't seem to know how to get the refund and offered us nothing in compensation. Net net is...not bad guys but not very knowledgeable and I recommend getting a firm price locked in before you let them do any work. read more

Ryan has just fixed the fridge for me. Called late last Friday afternoon and got scheduled for Saturday morning for a check up. He needed to pick up parts which was unavailable during the weekend. Then Ryan came back on Monday morning, replaced the part but realized something else was broken, too. He picked another part the same day and came back 7ish in the evening and fixed the fridge. It was such a long day for him yet he did it as promised. Reasonably priced. Since the fridge has just been fixed so I am not sure if anything else would happen to it later. It looks fine for now. If I could give this person zero Stars I would. Do not use thin air appliance and repair. They are extremely dishonest. He never comes when he says he's going to. He tried to double charge me on parts. He did nothing to fix my washing machine. he told me it needed a new electric board when all that was wrong is it just needed for me to use a different laundry detergent because it's an HE machine. He is an extremely inappropriate business person.in the beginning he told me it would be $50 for a visit but then he decided not to charge me because he didn't show up and had to come at another time that was more inconvenient to me. then he's telling me now and I have this in print that he charges $179 for a visit. he first told me he was going to charge me $300 for a part that only cost him less than 200. All to find out that we never really needed the part to begin with. and all he ever did was unscrew the back of my washing machine he didn't even put it back together he was in my house a total of 20 minutes. I have used these folks before, always been pleased but this time after several attempts to repair my Sub-Zero, they are leaving me hanging. Dominic is a good kid, but in the end, no communication or follow-through on what he said he was going to do. My Ice maker was working when they started, but after several attempts to get the dispenser to work, and after he received a shock inside the unit, my ice maker does not work. He ordered a part, says it was the wrong one, and that the appliance parts vendor won't exchange it. After finally getting to talk to the owner, he tells me they are swamped with A/C calls, and people are dying in their homes. so...no more service for months...In addition, he wanted ME to get the replacement part. I understand priority of assignments, what I don't understand is not responding to my calls or text messages and basically blowing off the service in my case. Sometimes people show their true colors in the most difficult situations. Our fridge was defective and had a hole burned through the back. His technician came out on short notice and initially diagnosed the fan the day before. We replaced the fan paying for the part, expedited shipping, and labor. Don, the owner, came over and quickly diagnosed the defect. He refunded all of the costs and spent a lot of time with us to talk through processing the defect with the manufacturer even though they were very busy. Thanks Don. read more

My dryer stopped working completely as if it had no power. Initially I was going to buy a new dryer. However, Ryan was able to come over on short notice and was able to diagnose the problem. Reviews are tough - how can you get clients with such hot and cold opinions!? Our fridge fritzed on Sunday evening. I couldn't find any friends/neighbors who had service repair referral so I searched blind and found Thin Air with good Yelp reviews. I called Monday @ 8 and Donald answered almost immediately and said he could have someone out that morning. Dominik and Shane arrived and diagnosed the problem. Checked for available part - it was available - said they'd be back later that evening to install ...I said return whenever. Dominik called ~ 2:00 and said he had a shift in schedule and was available to come over. Arrived within 10 mins as he had promised, replaced the part, voila! fridge is fixed. When your fridge is out, you don't have time to price shop so I don't know if I got a good price or not ...nor did I search after the fact to find out ...don't ask questions to which you don't want to know the answer! My fridge is fixed - all three gentlemen were kind, courteous and professional. Oftentimes, price is not as important as relationship. I will use these guys again and refer to my friends. Hi all! Just want to recommend Thin Air Appliance & HVAC Repair, whom I found with great reviews on Thumbtack. Our dryer completely stopped working and we needed a quick repair. Although I contacted them last night, Donald, the owner, fit us into the schedule and sent Ryan, the repairman, over this afternoon. I had tried everything to check the dryer - reset the circuit breaker, unplugged and re-plugged the dryer, tested it many times - nothing. As soon as Ryan arrived (on time, by the way - with a call beforehand to let us know he'd be here in 20 minutes), he turned on the dryer and it worked! Now that's what I call service!! Ryan said this has happened to him several times this week, so I have dubbed him "The Appliance Whisperer"! So worth the trip charge, which, if the dryer stops again soon, will be waived next time it needs repair. In addition, Ryan wore a mask and I provided booties and gloves, which is graciously wore as well. Highly recommend! read more
