None have come close to the accommodations at the Sherlock Home. And the adventure of solving the Sherlock Home is the icing on the cake! Super welcoming. Not robotic. Not reading from a script. They explained everything clearly, made sure we felt confident going in, and kept the energy up without overdoing it. What I appreciated most was how thoughtful they were outside the game itself. They gave us real recommendations for places to check out around San Antonio after. Not generic tourist stuff. Actual spots that made our night better. You can tell when people care about the experience versus just running a shift. Lauren and Hawthorn genuinely cared. Came in for a family fun night and tried 2 rooms…read more The first room was Master of Illusion and it was fun. We were a little disappointed that it was only 1 room so it was relatively small but it flowed well and he had fun. The 2nd room was Horror on Hallows Eve and it was terrible. This was room 59 and 60 for us as we've done a ton of rooms in Los Angeles and this room made absolutely no sense. On top of that, we had to do the knives puzzle literally 10 times because one of them was messed up and kept doing the noise when you pull the knife out of the pumpkin when it was not taken out so it took a TON of time away from our game. We finally got it to work by holding the knife super tightly into the pumpkin until we completed the rest of the knives. We ended up not escaping the room like 5 seconds too late which was frustrating when this took up such a large amount of time for a defective puzzle. On top of that, the hint system showed up on a screen and largely didn't pertain to what we needed help with. We much preferred when game masters give you a walkie talkie so you can explain the section you need help with. Finally they charged us for a photo which is crazy. In over 60 escape rooms that we've done, not once have we been charged for a photo.

We did Kids Mode, which offered more hints. If you've never done an escape room before, they put you in a room with puzzles to solve. As you solve the puzzles, you unlock more clues and additional puzzles. You have one hour to solve the final puzzle. When you get stuck, you can ask for a hint. Someone is watching you from hidden cameras, so they know what you need next. We made it out with five minutes to spare. It was fun! The place was clean, the challenge was creative, and the staff members were very friendly. One tip: it costs less on weeknights.

Austin to this location and when you pull in it is a little sketchy from the outside. You will not be disappointed once you go in. She reserved the smash room and prior to the room you are fitted for the outfits to smash in. You wear them over your clothes so we were looking like construction workers. When we got in the room they asked if we had any music request and were able to Bluetooth it. They go over the rules and you will get I believe 3 warnings and I will say my daughter got a warning for dropping the mallet. They have everything you need to smash and you are able to bring in items also. The people who reserved it after us brought in a bunch due to bulk pick up just happening. Something to think about if you choose to go. I intended to go back with just my daughter and do the paint room and other things they had but we haven't made it back since. Hopefully we will go again in the future.

There was dust covering almost everything, piles of clutter throughout the space, and very little lighting, which made the entire environment feel uncomfortable rather than exciting. We had made a reservation online, but when we arrived, nothing was set up or ready for us. The masks and gloves we were given were visibly dirty, and the protective suits hanging on the wall looked just as unclean. While we should have worn them, I'm honestly relieved we weren't asked to because they didn't appear sanitary. The entire time we were there, we both felt on edge. The atmosphere was so unsettling that we kept saying it felt like we had walked into the movie House of Wax. We seriously considered leaving, but because of the strict no-refund policy, we decided to stay and make the best of it. The rage room itself was underwhelming. Most of the breakable items were beer bottles, which isn't necessarily a problem, except that several of them still had beer left inside. As we smashed them, the leftover beer sprayed onto us. The room was also much smaller than we expected and was already covered in broken glass and debris before we even started, making it feel crowded and less enjoyable. In total, we spent over $170 after adding an extra crate and purchasing the video footage. For that price, we expected a much cleaner, more organized, and more professional experience. Overall, I can't recommend this place. If you're looking for a fun rage room experience, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. This one felt neglected, unsanitary, and simply wasn't worth the money.
