What a sweet diner - food was excellent & cooked perfectly ... even down to requested extra crispy bacon. Waitress was super and on top of all our needs. This place is a Warrenton gem.

Visiting Virginia for a few days and this place popped up in my search for breakfast food. VERY glad we stopped in. Clean, good ventilation and fast friendly service. Coffee was fresh and PERFECT. Food was delicious, huge portions, and reasonably priced. Very authentic diner experience. Open 24/7. Cash only. ATM on site.

Cute, little classic diner. The menu was what you'd expect from a diner, extensive, but this wasn't overwhelming. Prices seemed very reasonable. I was going to try the hot, open-face roast beef, but they were out so I went with the chicken fried steak with home fries and onion rings. Home fries and onion rings were perfect! The chicken fried steak was fine, probably a quick deep fry and like a chopped steak. My wife had the blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs. What's funny is I like a thin pancake, so these looked right up my alley, but she tends to prefer the fluffier version.

The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, however; there was a table available so we seated ourselves. Our server came right over with menus and took our drink order. BEWARE: do not order drinks before looking at the menu because breakfast meals come with coffee or hot tea. They give a very meager discount if you do not order coffee or hot tea. Rather than just charge the 50 cent difference they charge for the iced tea. The server was a bit rude but did an ok job. I ordered the "Abigail Special." The food came quickly. The omelet was hot, but the "home fries" were luke warm. The potatoes were not fried, but tasted as if they were baked then cut up into chunks. A bit of catsup helped with the dryness of the potatoes. The omelet tasted great. The sweet tea was good. The table was cluttered with all kinds of items. (see photo) Not sure if we will return.

After many years of living in the area, I finally tried this place out. It's a classic old school diner. They were busy but the service was quick. The portions, prices and quality of food were all really good. I will definitely make it a point to stop back in. As some of the other reviews state, it is cash only but they do have an ATM just before you go in.

I was intrigued by the pastrami sandwich options on the menu and really appreciated that gluten free bread was an option, so I had to try it! I was not disappointed at all. The sandwich was hefty - packed with meat, and flavorful. I'm not sure I liked the pile of salad that comes on the side - it's a lot to finish for one person and seems a bit wasteful. The service was good, but the sandwiches did take a bit longer than expected to come out. That might not be the case for other dishes though. I would certainly visit again!

But driving by on weekends, and seeing the crowds bursting out the door, we deferred visiting the Vienna Carnegie Diner. Instead, on our first time, we came midday on a weekday and there weren't that many people and we were seated immediately. Overall, service was fine, though a bit in disarray because we had two different servers ask if we were ready to order. We both ordered the very good Chicken Salad sandwich. It's huge and really makes for two meals. It comes with very decent fries and an excellent side salad that has been drizzled with two different tasty dressings. We saw lentil soup on the menu, and if it's like the lentil soup at the Carnegie Diners in NYC, I highly recommend it. We absolutely will be back.

I started with the Chunky Monkey Banana milkshake which was.. well, disappointing. Almost entirely liquidity. Not enough solids. Way too much milk. Disappointed I also had a blood orange sunset, which was good, refreshing, sort of like a reverse Tequila Sunset. The meatloaf itself was good but the pate was hit or miss. There wasn't much meat loaf, mostly mashed potatoes, string onions, and corn. I felt for the price the meatloaf serving size was just not quite enough. It seemed like it was deliberately hidden in there. I was expecting something more. The Kickin Crab and Corn Chowder, sans description, was also..unexpected. It was an option with the meatloaf and contained a lot of pepper. Black pepper. Not the ... Chesapeake Favorite "Kickin" expectation.. We had a mimosa, good, a little weak. Overall, it's an ok place to grab a meal, the menu has many options, they have milkshakes and martinis of sorts, not a full bar, unfortunately, you can't get milkshakes with alcohol, which I think is a tremendous hole in their menu, but I found everything to just be a little rough around the edges. Leaving.. What sealed the deal was that after all that, instead of staying to have drinks, etc. we.. decided to go to a different restaurant for something more.
