    Honey barbecue wings!
    Tim S.

Awesome wings! The sweet potato fries with cinnamon and brown sugar are fantastic! We get them every time now. This trip I got a Philly cheese steak bomb. It was gigantic! Newmarket is a great old mill town with a-lot of personality. They have sidewalk seating too! The food is very consistent and good! The fries are still the best I've ever had!

We are long time fans of Wing Itz! Their wings are the best in the area and there are tons of different sauces to pick from. Not a fan of wings? Don't worry- there are other choices on the menu as well. This location had a full bar available and ample bar seating. It also had outdoor tables that we enjoyed sitting at! In terms of this location versus other wing-itz: we found the wings to be a little less crispy here than the other ones. We love how crispy they typically are so that was a slight disappointment. Still- best wings around- for sure! Parking on the street can be difficult l but the area is very cute and walkable so I'm sure you could find a lot further down and still enjoy the walk!

We looked at it today and I think the menu looks really touristy, sort of like Weathervane or Newick's. Lots of fried seafood platters, and not much that seems interesting or creative, but maybe there's a page of specials that isn't in the window. This could be a good move for the owners - summer's coming and in Portsmouth, that's tourist season. Tourists come to Portsmouth and say things like "I'm on the ocean, I want seafood." Portsmouth isn't on the ocean but that's okay, whatever makes the tourists happy. I look forward to trying Portside Seafoods and I hope it's surprisingly interesting and fun. Quick edit (7/10/10): Portside Seafoods was open for a month or two, was sold, and is now under renovation. Again.

"I do not want a pickle ... I just wanna ride my motorsickle."…read more Dropped in with my old man and my brother and sister-in-law for some brew and some hot food. Three inches of snow had fallen in the last four hours; cars' tires were spinning a bit, people were slippin and slidin on the slick of the downtrodden snow on the sidewalks, and a general white-ness filled the air and the sky. You could see the cold. Which is why, of course, that I was in desperate need for fried pickles. Mmm-mmm. Pickle chips doused in batter and fried to a deep delicious golden brown with Texas tartar sauce and buffalo wing dip. Tasty. There's a good selection of beers in this joint and, to my delight, the left coast was represented with Anchor Steam and Sierra Nevada. I opted for a Smutty Nose Pale Ale with my pickles. The pulled pork quesadillas were tender and tasty with a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce and pepper jack with a huge dollop of sour cream on the side. My only gripe was that they were served on a thin piece of butcher paper that, upon getting more and more damp in the process of eating the damn thing, would come off in pieces and inevitably get ingested with the rest of the forkful. %DV of Wood Pulp? 100! Apparently there's a FREAKIN' MASSIVE platter of orgiastic proportions called THE SQUEALER. I can't say that I'd ever try to partake in this, but essentially it's a veritable shitload of pork on a plate and you gotta eat it ALL in an hour. If you're able to complete this formidable task, you get it free. A line of photographs by the front door shows some people who had accomplished the feat and others who had not. What was amusing to me was how many big, fat guys wearing baseball hats failed, and how many cute young women emerged victorious. Yay, you go, girl! Enough. Good place, pleasant atmosphere, good food. Pass me those damn fried pickles, please.

Statey has just recently opened up, which replaced State Street & while I live in Vegas now this definitely was on my list of stops while home visiting. I finally got to go in last night to check it out. It is very big & kinda open but not too open around the dinning room area. They have plenty of seating on the floor & around the bar. It was great to see Mo a long time bartender still working for them. They were having karaoke night & they have a nice little stage out back for the "maybe soon to be famous singers to perform on". It started @ 7/8pm (can't remember) & went to midnight. No cover charge to get in. It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! I will be back before heading home & on my future trips back to NH!! So happy that they brought State Street back!!!! Thank You!!!

We opted for outside seating and were seated immediately. It was comfortable outside and much less noisy. Our waitress Sara S was amazing and attentive. Food: 2 Drinks: 5 Service: 1 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Food: I ordered the French dip sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich was awful. Bread seemed stale, the meat was chewy, and the dipping jus was tiny. The best part was the tater tots, that clearly came out of a frozen bag. Drinks: Outstanding beer selection. 119 different beers available! Service: Generally very slow. The place wasn't super full but I had to get the bartenders attention to get anything. I didn't get service a single time without having to flag someone down. Value: Beers were decent price, but $21 for that sandwich was egregious. Atmosphere: The bar area was huge with tons of TV options. There were also lots of tables and a really nice outdoor area.
