My sump pump died overnight this week. This is high-priority stuff, so I needed a plumber quickly. I called "Thomas the Plumber" because I used him to replace a grinder pump (another high priority issue) four years ago. Like last time, George came out to fix the sump pump a few hours later and all of the work was done properly. Also, with a fresh 5 inches of snow on the ground. He explained to me how the primary pump and battery backup pump interacted, which is helpful to understand. George is polite, timely, does good work, and his price seemed reasonable--that's all you can ask for in a contractor. I also like the fact that he responded to the very few negative reviews on Yelp (and his responses seemed reasonable). Bad business people generally ignore negative feedback, based on past experience with some horrible contractors. Anyway, I highly recommend "Thomas the Plumber" and will continue to use this company going forward. Once you find a good contractor, it's good to stick with them. read more

I explained the needed repairs to Thomas over the phone and he was able to provide me with quote right over the phone for the repairs. His prices beat all other quotes that I received. He also provided me with his next available day to complete the work. Thomas arrived promptly on the day the work was scheduled along with a courtesy call before he arrived. I found Thomas the Plumber on Yelp. I had a pretty bad water leak this morning when I woke up. The water ran from the kids bathroom upstairs to the living room and finally in the basement. I thought I had a busted pipe. I called George Thomas and he was at the home within an hour. He was very professional and found out what caused the leak. He caulked where the water was leaking from and even took the time to try to fix my garbage disposal and waterline for my refrigerator. To top it off he only charged me $100. Unfortunately I need a new garbage disposal. The good thing is I know who I will be using when I'm ready to get it fixed. So I read all the reviews on this guy and decided to give him a try. He came in and replaced a sink pipe, fixed to leaky faucets and a couple of other things. I waited 3 weeks to make sure there were no surprises. He was organized, polite and cleaned up after himself. He quoted a price at the beginning that i thought was very reasonable. When the job took less time than he expected, he gave a discounts. I have since referred him to my son and (gasp) sister-in-law - so you can see I think very highly of him. I can't say enough about how great George is. Like everyone else, we had flooding issues after last Tuesday's record breaking rain. We discovered that the rain leader running from the sump pump to the street was clogged with roots. George came out on Saturday to look at it and completed the job today - a day later! He wanted to get it done before the weather got worse later this week so he came out on a Sunday. He was thorough and professional. And very reasonably priced. I needed plumbing work in my basement, so I called a company from the internet. They came and gave a quote to replace a sink in the basement. The price was $600.00 dollars. I almost fainted. Then doing some more search, I found Thomas the plumber. Over the phone he gave me a price of $175.00. Well I thought he was a fake. But I contracted him. He came out did the work, and also added parts that I did not provide. And still said $175.00. Well ny wife and I were pleased that I gave him a $190.00. I just moved in my house less than a week ago and the downstairs bathroom was overflowing from the toilet and shower drain..Yuck!! Found Thomas the plumber on Yelp and saw they had high rate reviews. Thomas the Plumber replaced my hose spigot that froze over the winter. Thomas was punctual, polite and professional. He replaced the Spigot, repaired the conduit pipe and filled the cavity in the wall in under an hour allowing me to make it to work by 9am. Thomas installed an exterior hose bib for us so we could have water access outside. He was responsive, showed up when promised, was honest and his price was literally 1/3 of the other quote we had gotten.
