As I'm writing this the Thompson is the newest hotel in Palm Springs. Beautiful property located in the mix of Palm Canyon Dr. The decor was bright, airy, modern with a lot of indigenous touches that I loved. Guest rooms were quite spacious with large bathrooms/showers and a private patio. The grounds were very clean and I enjoyed walked around the property to take in the architecture. All staff members were friendly, professional and helpful. The onsite restaurant has amazing Mediterranean food for breakfast lunch and dinner. Live Jazz music in the evenings on the 2nd floor in the restaurant area. Check with the hotel for the live music schedule. Hotel is very close to lots of shops and eateries so consider walking to explore the neighborhood.

Our January stay was perfect, not overcrowded and we were in a more secluded adult only part of the hotel with its own private pool area. This is a beautiful hotel. The grounds are wonderfully maintained and landscaped and the rooms (we were in the upper stories) have really nice extra tall ceilings and the finishes in the room are very nice. The bed and bed linens are super comfortable and made for a lovely deep sleep. Chromecast to the tv worked too, in some hotels we have issues with it. A few cons to keep it real; other commenters are correct, I heard someone sneeze in another room near us and the people above us seemed like they were stomping around up there all morning..So noise carries but not enough to bother us. Another con for me is the scent in the bedroom; it's a beautiful indulgent spa/ expensive smell.. I know the hotel experience they are going for, it's not offensive but I'm allergic to chemicals and scents so that was a major letdown for me.. however we had a balcony with a huge door that we left open to air the room all night so that helped. It did take me 3 days to recover though (again, that's medical for me, most people will find it luxurious). If I were to return to the hotel I would need a personal guarantee my room could be scent free. I liked the hotel and our stay so much, I do hope in the future I can come back! When we stayed most couples (diverse crowd; elderly, young, gay and straight: typical Palm Springs) were enjoying a relaxing weekend and seemed to be quiet and respectful. The hotel offered yoga class (assume complimentary) outside facing the mountain that looked exquisite but I wasn't aware and when I noticed, I had coffee in hand and a pastry from the courtesy help yourself station next to the private adult pool in the upper stories and so heading back to my room to leisure a little longer. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious and if alcohol is your thing, they had complimentary canned mixed drinks and beer available to guests in this section of the hotel as well as chilled bottled water and canned prebiotic sodas . I will review their restaurants separately but it was an exquisite stay. So happy to have experienced my first Thompson hotel as a Hyatt globalist. Parking; they offer valet and self parking. You will need to use the other parking structure behind the hotel if you have a tall vehicle ( which on this visit we did) $35 nightly.

The Thompson Palm Springs is officially my favorite desert escape! From the stunning pool and delicious cocktails to the impeccable service, they've thought of everything. Plus, being steps away from all the best shops and eats makes the location unbeatable. It's pricey, but worth it.

This is our second time here and will not come back. There was a cockroach in the room that crawled behind the mirror and it's disgusting. I called and they seem to be nonchalant about the issue and response was should we send security to kill it?! I said no, as it is late and my partner is asleep. how about not have roaches in your rooms??!!! so just dealing with it hoping it doesn't go on our things. I had to move everything out of the bathroom. First thing in the morning I addressed the cockroach and was told it is a desert cricket and was told that it's not a reflection of cleanliness of hotel.. Bullshit this a cockroach! The excuse of being in the desert outdoor hotel it's normal is bs. I have stayed at multiple properties in PS and have never had an issue with this. ...We were at the pool earlier and ordered food and literally took an hour to receive it and it was not busy whatsoever. Once the food arrived the poke had no sauce whatsoever and the salad did not have crab as it was said on the menu....this hotel is beautiful and for our second time here definitely will be our last. Service is horrible and cockroach in the room?!! Wtf ! our experience here last time was not good as well waiting over an hour for breakfast and the staff was sooo rude..I'm a very kind reasonable person and by far the worst service in a hotel ever and the worst service at a restaurant ever. The only save and grace is Bar Issi which not even a part of the property, but conveniently located next to the hotel. Save your money and your globalist elite status because this place's and service is a joke.

    Inside so nice.

Such a wonderful Thompson. It's trying to be the top one but still has some kinks to work out. Verne was wonderful w reservations and good check in because of overflow. Nice upgrade. But short on second room ! Overall Josh is amazing bartender /server for breakfast and the afternoon drink. One of the rooms was super clean. The second one was the lowest price point but also next to the Svc elevators. Etc. had some smell issue. overall front desk helped clean up some of the miscommunication during this first day. So for this reason any negative stuff during our stay went up in the ballon as hot air. If you're staying @ this Thompson it's paradise!! that is big and can be confusing w how you exit or walk around . Signage needs to be tweaked.

My girlfriends and I came to the lobby area at Thompson for some dancing with Tina Turntables and wow we had a blast! It happened to be the Marilyn Monroe 100th bday celebration too so we saw some great Marilyns roaming through in their white dresses and wigs. I dont think Ive danced that hard in a hotel lobby before but wow Tina was awesome! Great vibes, dont think I sat down for more than 2 minutes! We will definitely be back!!

Welcome to downtown Palm Springs Thompson Hotel! This hotel just opened in October 2024 and is pretty dreamy! Valet is $30 per night and check in was very smooth. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2pm on 4th of July so we checked out the lobby bar/ restaurant called Hall Napa Valley and it was a great time with great service. Once our room was ready our bellman Tom took our bags and was very friendly. We stayed on the second floor in room 268. It was nice as we were right by the adult pool. We booked this resort in particular as they have two pools but one is 21 and over which was the vibe we were going for. The pool service was excellent and shout out to Andro who made excellent spicy margaritas and was incredibly friendly. The room itself was spacious and the AC was top notch which is appreciated in July. Otherwise I was pretty impressed with the mini bar they had great offerings along with eye masks and palm spring makeup bags/ luggage tags which was very cute! Our bed was a king and incredibly plush with divine pillows. We had a cute little patio which was great to sit and catch the sunset. The bathroom was also large and had an amazing shower with great shower pressure. They provided loofahs and shower caps which was appreciated. The Thompson also provided complimentary breakfast by the pool during the weekend. They had cinnamon rolls, mimosas and coffee which was a really nice touch. Overall, this hotel exceeded expectations as we tend to be a more boutique hotel couple but this place was everything and more. We will definitely be back!

What a fantastic escape--perfect for a holiday weekend! We stayed over the Fourth of July weekend to get away from the bustle of LA, and this hotel exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything--from the atmosphere to the amenities--was top-notch. There was also a street fair Thursday night that was so good . The on-site restaurants truly deserve their own spotlight (separate reviews coming for Lola Rose and Bar Issi because they were that impressive). Incredible food, vibrant ambiance, and standout service across the board. Our room was stylish, comfortable, and featured a breathtaking view from the patio--sunrises and sunsets were a treat. The pool area was a highlight as well, offering a relaxing vibe that made it easy to unwind. Service throughout the property, including room service, was consistently warm and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined yet fun getaway. We'll definitely be back!

Love that kids are allowed. Bring floaties to relax in the pool. I noticed the pool staff puts "reserved" signs on many of the pool chairs, but I think you have to ask if you can use them because i don't think they are actually reserved. The white daybeds cost money, so don't get all settled down on it unless you want to pay for it. Rooms are nice and spacious, we had the 2 queen room facing downtown (room 228), didn't hear any noise from hotel or outside. Food is good at Lola Rose, just ask for your meat to not be overly burnt. Everything is cooked over fire so I suppose some parts must get a little burnt. Manager is very good about helping you out if something is amiss. Food comes out slowly so be prepared to wait, don't come starving! Relaxing experience overall, I will return!

We booked the Thompson Palm Springs last minute for a birthday and promotion celebration with friends, and it ended up being one of the best trips ever. From the moment we arrived, the staff was absolutely amazing--so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Lola Rose is a must-go while you're there, and Bar Issi was such a vibe with great drinks and an awesome atmosphere. We even got to experience a wedding while we were there, which made the whole stay feel even more fun and lively. A huge plus is that they also offer a complimentary ride service within about a 3-mile radius, which made getting around Palm Springs so easy and stress-free. The Thompson Palm Springs is such a fun place to stay--beautiful, energetic, and perfect for celebrating special moments. You won't regret it!

We stayed at Thompson Palm Springs on Friday night because we were attending a concert in the area. I was amazed by how large and elegant the resort is! We were told it took 16 years to build--wow! It truly feels like an oasis in the desert, with very convenient access to the main street, Palm Canyon Drive, which is lined with restaurants, shops, galleries, and a museum. We booked the 1 King Bed Mountain View Room Walk-Up with Balcony (420 sq ft). The bed was very comfortable! I really liked the simple, modern interior, with earthy tones and natural finishes. The balcony was spacious, with a great view of the mountains and a partial view of the street. The bathroom was clean, and the shower was excellent--the water pressure was perfect! The complimentary slippers were high-quality. We also received two complimentary water bottles, which could be refilled at the ice machine room on the same floor. The resort has two swimming pools: one near the bar and breakfast area, offering a nice view of Palm Canyon Drive, and another near our room, which was quiet and tranquil. We had breakfast at Lola Rose on Saturday morning, which was good. The service was excellent, especially from Ivan, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. He recommended great shops and restaurants nearby and gave us all the important details about the hotel, including where to refill water and how to access our Globalist status lounge benefits. We felt truly relaxed and rejuvenated after staying at Thompson Palm Springs. We'll definitely return for our next trip to Palm Springs!

I had an incredible stay at The Thompson Hotel by Hyatt. This Palm Springs oasis was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Their amenities are top tier, and not to mention their customer service was even better. The rooms were very clean and spacious. All of the on-site restaurants/bars were also great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience a more elevated PS stay.

    More outdoor lounge.

The service here is so attentive without being intrusive. The decor is hip and swanky. The music is lively but not overwhelming. The cuisine is diverse and tasty. The Lola Rose restaurant/lounge isn't a great place to visit in Palm Springs!

It's located in Rancho Mirage pretty much right in between Palm Springs and Palm Desert. It's located on the top of a large hill so it has great views of the valley. They have a steakhouse on site called The Edge, which has it selling feature being these views and the great steak. The hotel is not extremely large. We again booked two connecting rooms. A double bedroom comes with a couch and is very spacious. The king bed also came with a little couch. The first floor had a very unique vibe that we all liked. The decoration of the Crystal lights was very cool. The bathrooms were all looking like they had a complete renovation. Big huge bathtubs for our little toddler to swim in his bubble bath in. Housekeeping staff I give them a 10! Phenomenal job all you amazing ladies and gents working in housekeeping. All of them were friendly, checked on us, offered more towels. Our room was serviced EVERY time we came back to the room, clean, spotless. Not like the disgusting Ritz Half Moon bay. The housekeeping crew here all were on top of their duties with great smiles and attitudes. We happily will be bringing more cash for them next time. Very hard workers. I appreciated all of you guys in housekeeping. The family pool was amazing! It was not overcrowded and it was clean, all the music playing was completely perfect for families. They keep the area very clean and the staff was always checking in on us to see like to order anything else or needed anything. The service at the Pool side is five star! The view from the property is spectacular! My family really was surprised at night that there was a star watch around the pool. We were able to see through the huge telescopes two distant stars. What a great treat. We all did enjoy the shops there at the resort. They had a great attire for the entire family. Dad found a wonderful shirt and our toddler found the cutest swim shorts. We don't like to do so far. This one is the best Ritz in terms of on site shopping. Overall, our family had a five star one experience at this property. So wonderful that I am very sure we will be booking more visits through the year.I cannot tell you enough how nice, accommodating and friendly staff is here at the property. If you have fur babies go ahead and bring them along ..this property is dog friendly! Our two Frenchies really enjoyed their time here.. being spoiled by the staff. They give water bowls and dog treats. There are many dogs in the property during our visit. Each of them were also happy to be able to socialize with their families as we could tell. If you can't tell...I Love the Ritz Rancho Mirage.

Very unfavorable and unexpected experience at The Monkey Tree in Palm Soring…read more Parking location was uncomfortable. Everything was dimly lit. General hotel layout was nice, felt vintage and was a refreshing twist. Room layout was interesting, tv was placed in front of the couch so you can't watch tv in bed. When first entering our room: 1. The two ceilings lights either flickered or did not turn on at all. The room was pitch black until we PLUGGED IN the closet lamp. 2. The bathtub was not clean, there were hairs. Bathtub was paint was chipped and the faucet was leaking as well. 3. The kitchen utensils were not clean. Forks, glasses and even the roll of paper towels were found dirty or used. The extra rolls under the sink were unwrapped. When coming to our room a few hours after check in, calling customer service (calling three times) took more than an hour, just for us to be told that the lighting and cleanliness issues will be solved in the morning. Was really looking forward to the experience but upon our first few hours, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable and turned off of our whole stay. Especially when faced with the lack of cleanliness in the restroom, if our bathtub could be so apparently dirty, what else could they have missed? We were forced to spend the first few hours fixing up our room before starting to feel comfortable. This meant scrubbing the bathtub, washing every dish and checking every surface. With the lengthy and detailed check in process, we were really expecting a quality, travel worthy experience. Instead, it felt we were greeted with an unclean, uncomfortable welcome. As guests, it was made obvious to us that customer service was not at the forefront of our experience. Having decentralized customer service (through phone numbers and apps) made us feel so unattached from the actual experience.

It's a decent size hotel with views of the mountains or city. Starting from the nice valet welcome to the friendly check in experience. This hotel is cute and is part of the Kimpton chain. Very clean and modern vibe. The lobby offers that crisp detail modern architecture. There's a bar located along one side which the check in is on the opposite end. Elevator are to the other side. Two restaurants on the property. One on the main levels while the other one being more of the upscale dining experience on the top floor. Beside the rooftop pool with spectacular view of both mountains and city views. The poolside bar is great for happy hour and enjoying the outdoor. 4 Saints which is the upscale restaurants on the top floor also have a beautiful view of the mountains view. They too have a nice happy hour with bar bites that's worth checking out. Highly recommend the stuffed dates. I think it's only open for dinner. Beautiful decor and a nice outdoor balcony. Rooms are clean and modern. You can't beat their layout and of course there's the social hour that happens during the afternoon. Cocktails and mingle. If you feel like a nice day out, they have bicycles that can be used to enjoy the city. The location is great as it's in the middle of town. You have the museum right behind you as well as the Marilyn Statue. Shopping is literally out the front door of the hotel. Restaurant, bars, coffee shops, wine tasting and plenty of souvenirs shops are all out the front door. If you want a property that's easy to get around from place to place, this is your best bet. Service is great and the staff are all very friendly. If you're looking for a hotel that host pool parties, this may not be the place for you. Pool is small and caters to a more relaxed vibe.

Shops, restaurants, museums and other sights are all within easy walking distance. It's even directly across from the Forever Marilyn statue. We've stayed at several IHG properties before, and when we choose one, it's usually an InterCon rather than a Kimpton. So this was our first time staying at a Kimpton. I had wanted to try one as an Ambassador before Kimpton was removed from the eligible hotel list, but we finally got our chance. Perhaps because it's Palm Springs, the hotel feels small, or maybe it really is small. I'll admit I don't know much about art, but walking around almost felt like being inside a mini museum. I really liked the styling. It made the place feel warm, welcoming and full of character, rather than another bland corporate hotel to spend the night. Our room was upgraded to a mountain/valley view with a balcony. The beds and pillows may not be the best we've experienced, but they were comfortable enough that staying in bed all day sounded very tempting, especially with the hellish Palm Springs summer outside. Unfortunately, the heat defeated our plans to try the rooftop pool. We ended up retreating to the cool and comfortable room instead. Perhaps next time around, preferably when Palm Springs isn't trying to roast us alive. My wife and kids absolutely loved the robes. The texture gave them a nice touch of comfortable luxury. The bathroom design, though, still had me scratching my head. The shower and toilet were basically in clear view of each other. LOL. Not a deal breaker at all, just an interesting design choice. The front desk staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay. My apologies for not remembering any names since my brain was already cooked by the heat, but Kudos to everyone. They also gave us a 1:00pm late checkout on a Saturday, which we really appreciated. All in all, we really enjoyed our first stay at a/the Kimpton Rowan. We would definitely come back.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

There are 10 rooms available and each one is a different theme in the 1950s. I stayed for two nights in the Crooners room and I enjoyed my stay a lot. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
