    Chicken Fried Noodle

Service was great - quick and attentive. Ambiance was nice, bathrooms clean. Food was decent - a good break after a long day but nothing that would make me say I have to come back. I got the chicken noodles which were okay, chicken was a bit chewy.

Loved this spot for a casual dinner. The service was great and quick, the portions are big, and everything came out hot and fresh. We shared the pork dumplings and got ramen as our mains. I was a big fan of the grilled chicken ramen. They also have lots of teas to choose from. Good for groups and solo diners alike. I will definitely be back!

We visited Peng's Noodle Folk after the Frick Collection because it was nearby and reasonably priced, and we were so glad we did. Everything we ordered was excellent and the portions were generous, plenty for sharing. The chicken dumplings with bok choy were juicy and flavorful. The poached shrimp were simple but plump and fresh, served with a delicious dipping sauce. The chicken katsu ramen was great. They serve the katsu on the side so it stays crispy, and the broth was really tasty, mild and delicate without being overly salty, which I often find with ramen. It was well balanced. We also ordered two wok-fried noodle dishes (homemade noodles- yum!), one chicken and one vegetarian. Both were very good. We asked for the chicken dish to be mild, but it was mouth-on-fire spicy, even for us, and we're used to spicy food. Still, they were really good but if you have a low spice tolerance this will be inedible. My stepdad had the vegetarian noodles extra spicy and really enjoyed them. The only issue was when we asked for the ramen to be split into two bowls for our kids. They wouldn't do it in the kitchen and just brought us extra bowls to split it ourselves. It was messy and a bit frustrating, definitely not ideal when dealing with long noodles and young kids. It would have been a small but appreciated gesture for them to take care of that for us. Service was friendly and efficient. The iced teas were also very tasty. Even with the bowl-division inconvenience, I'm giving them five stars because the food was that good. Would definitely go back.

Wow. We stumbled upon this small place after seeing a show nearby and so glad we did! Fast service and friendly staff. I loved that they served the chicken on the side of the soup so we could take our time eating it and it didn't get soggy. The purple dumplings were so pretty (& good). The wasabi cucumber salad was amazing! Big portion and perfect on my diet. I liked the seaweed salad but the portion was way too small and very expensive! My husband loved to Ramen noodle soup. He loved it and the portion was big! The shrimp was ok. The sauce was good. I do recommend this place!

Cute, classy ambience, great service, and delicious food! What more can you ask for? I got the Shao Bing sandwich with chicken katsu and it was absolutely delicious. I have a weird gut issue and can't do a lot of veggies, so I got mine with just the sauce and chicken, no lettuce, and it was still fantastic! Also super affordable - the sandwich was only about $10. Next time I'm going to try the mochi, it looked amazing.

Great noodle spot with a nice interior. I highly recommend their pork rib and Beijing noodles. Food: 4/5 Price: 3.5/5 Experience: 4/5

I've been on a ramen kick. This was really, really good. Amazing flavors, and their chili sauce is sooo yummy. Love how huge the portion is - I was able to have more of it twice at home. My server was friendly too. She was surprised and giggled at the fact that I wanted ramen in a 97 degree heatwave lol

Terrific food. Polite service. The ability to add extra items to any ramen dish is a great plus and always makes for a special touch, even if you've had the dish before. The dumplings, boiled or fried, are exceptional. All in all, I'd say the dining experience is simple, tasty, and-- unusual among so many restaurants these days -- QUIET! I'm coming back!

Absolutely delicious! This was a great find for us while on vacation for Christmas in the city. We were walking around Upper East Side taking photos of decorated homes & hotels in the frigid temps, when we had the urge for hot soup. I checked Yelp and came across Peng's. It was by far our fav meal of the entire trip. Leaving Midtown to try food in other neighborhoods really makes a difference. The service was perfect. The food was flavorful and abundant. The hot lemon honey tea was exceptional. My only wish is that I could eat here often, but I sadly live in another state far away.

I was craving ramen in New York and this was the closest place to me. The reviews were great so I figured it check it out. Very yummy, the chicken katsu was crispy and the broth flavorful. I like spicy so I added chili oil at the table and it was great

Decent noodles decent price. Ambiance is perfect, and the service is good. I couldn't find any other ramen spot close enough to the Met to walk to on the UES.

They're a small restaurant with about five places to sit, so I doubt it. Maybe a group of 5-6 at the biggest

The whole experience is a journey lol. You customize your ramen exactly how you want it and then sit in these little individual booths that are meant to let you actually focus on the food. I got the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with the spicy red sauce and the soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and creamy, the noodles were so good, and mixing the spicy sauce into everything was probably my favorite part. AND GET THE EGG. It comes in the shell and you crack it yourself, which somehow makes the whole thing even more fun, and it was cooked perfectly. My friend couldn't finish her ramen, so naturally I finished hers too That should tell you everything you need to know. Service was super quick and easy. You barely interact with anyone because of how the booths work, but that's part of what makes it so cool. The ramen is $21, which honestly isn't bad for Times Square. Good food, such a cool experience, and definitely somewhere I'd go back to.

The noodles have a medium chewy texture (good), but they were very hot every time I bit into it, which is unexpected and I did not like that. I've had much better ramen in Dallas and Louisiana.

Some of the staff has been here for a while, which tells me it is a well managed operation. Quality is still the focus at TONCHIN. Table comfort is still not. I love to bring my children when not crazy crowded so they can also enjoy one of the best ramen restaurants in the world. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I haven't found better yet. Summer soupless ramen with perfectly chewy noodles and slightly spicy sauce is a great addition. The vegan ban ban kinoko as well as its chicken version are great also during summer. The maguro is delicious but I don't find it as satisfying as the noodles. Mind spiciness level for the younglings. In the winter, the spicy tantan or Tokyo ramen always hit the spot. Fish bun has been improved slightly over the years but thank ramen-sama, it is always as messy to eat as the first time I tried it 7 years ago. Desserts are surprisingly delicious. Typically Japanese ramen restaurants lack in that domain but not here. The Tokyo banana is perfectly crafted: creamy crunchy tasty. The shaved ice are great and super fun to eat. To many more years of happy reviews, and good fortune.

We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.

This spot delivers the kind of authentic paitan that reminds you why people used to line up on cold sidewalks just for a bowl. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision. Toribro isn't trying to reinvent ramen which they're just doing it right. And in NYC, that alone makes it worth a visit.
