First time trying Thrasher's fries and they were great! It's a nice little store window on the boardwalk and they were busy. We got the large bucket and they came out super quickly. They come bare, so you can add as much salt as you want. The only downside is they make it known they don't offer ketchup! As a ketchup lover, this was definitely disappointing so we just grabbed some packets from a nearby restaurant. Thrasher fries are just the ticket on the Rehoboth boardwalk, just across from the Pavillion. A large order of fries with a large soda cost $19. They have vinegar, salt, and napkins, but not ketchup. A fun thing for me is to enjoy the fries under the cover of the aforementioned pavilion ( to avoid my skin getting fried) and toss bits out to the seagulls and other small birds who are both hungry and eager, often amazingly catching the fries in mid-air. This is probably not the best for them, but everyone deserves a fatty treat now and then! The workers are hustling preparing more fries, and service is pretty fast. What a boardwalk treat! This is such a classic that you must enjoy at least once on your trip. I got the medium fries to share with a friend and they were the perfect amount for a mid day treat! We topped them with as much salt and vinegar as our heart desired! But if you're looking for other condiments, sorry to break it to you, but you're out of luck. Service was fast. Grabbed my $7.50 small fries on the way out of town (to eat in the car) on a weekday afternoon in November. They were stale and/or way past their prime. I've been eating Thrasher's fries for over 40 years. My first exposure was on the boardwalk in Ocean City. I couldn't understand why everyone stood in line for French fries. Then I made it to the front, ordered a small, sprinkled on the vinegar (which was already my favorite way to eat fries), and instantly wished I had ordered a medium. A visit to OC wasn't a visit without at least one trip to Thrasher's. Fast forward 40+ years and I now frequent Lewes and Rehoboth, DE. While I don't always get to Thrashers every time I'm in town, I'm there many times every year. Very very very rarely are the fries less than perfect. 97% of the time they're crispy on the outside, hot and fluffy in the inside, and overflowing the cup. They are the ultimate boardwalk fries. The flavor of the potatoes, the taste of the oil, the acid kick from the vinegar, the perfect sprinkle of salt . . . . The 3% of the time they're not perfectly crispy, they're still really tasty. Don't even let ketchup come into your mind. They don't have it and you don't want to ruin this awesome beach tradition with any condiments other than the vinegar and salt. There's often a line but it moves relatively quickly. There's no need to panic when you get to the front of the line, there are only a few options. Pick the size of your fries and decide if you want soda or water (you don't need any to be honest - unless you're thirsty). If you want, there are combo options. This not just a cup of fries. They aren't all open in the offseason, but in-season, there is plenty of business to go around. This one on the south side of the street is likely to be the least crowded in my experience.
