They took such good care of my gown and after the two fittings my gown fit PERFECTLY :) At my last fitting I also brought my after party dress which I needed altered due to some weight loss, and they were able to do so and it also fit perfectly afterward. The bustle worked perfectly, and they took videos for my MOH and made sure the process would be easy for her by placing safety pins on the underside as it was a fairly complicated bustle. I got my dress altered here super last minute and they were incredibly easy to communicate with. I do think the waist ended up a bit smaller than I needed it, but they offered to fix it the same day, I just didn't want to drive back to winter park. The work was beautifully done and the service was incredible. Communication was fantastic and the shop is really cute. I'm totally obsessed with my dress and I have zero regrets, my waist looks snatched. The cost for taking in the waist and getting the skirt hemmed was $300. I was quoted $100 for just the hem initially, but they suggested I take it in as well to make sure it stayed up throughout the day. I'd 1000% recommend them for your alterations. read more

I called to make an appointment as I had an urgent issue with my wedding dress. The soonest they could get me in was in 5 days and they charged me a deposit of $50.00. Which turned into $53.50. I was not made aware of the extra $3.50 they added on to the deposit until I checked my bank account. In just under 3 hours, I found another place that could get me in right away that same day, so I called back to cancel my appt and request to hopefully get my deposit back since I called back in just under 3 hours and was told by the receptionist that she would check with the owner and call me back. I received no call back. If I tried to get my deposit back the next day or end of day, I could understand not getting it back, but it's ridiculous that I called back so quick and they can't honor that and charged me an additional $3.50. Bad business in my opinion. read more

Poorly skilled and worst experience of my life! I found a new seamstress with 25+ years experience. They said the dress was a disgrace and atrocious and I agree. They botched my dress. If you question your dress they come at you with an attitude. Some of the people at the new place insisted I write a review saying they should not get away with this and I agree. In my whole life this is the only negative review I have ever written. This was the worst experience of my life. These people are very unprofessional. These people have no pride or perhaps lack the skill. They called me overweight several times and told my fiancé several times he should not marry me. Horrendous. They are not good. They will tell you they cannot do things but it's true however other seamstresses can. They just can't. They lack skill and use cheap material. My fiancé did not like the work and they did NOT take the criticism well. They were rude to me and my fiancé and called her fat basically several times and that I should not marry her(unbelievable) when the only kind of woman I would not marry is their type. Unprofessional, rude, and not talented with no pride in their work and lack of accountability not to mention bad attitudes. I would say more but at this point not worth my time. We left them in the rear view and went somewhere else that was incredibly professional and caring and pretty much the opposite of what we had just dealt with. The new seamstresses were appalled by Thread and Needles work calling them a disgrace and insisted I write a review of how horrible Thread and Needle was and I could not agree more! read more

I had lace on my train and instead of removing the lace and moving it up when hemming they cut around the lace so the hemline was slightly uneven. They also told me they were unable to move up the neckline because it would mess up the structure of the dress. It was also very pricey. $700. read more

This place is fantastic! I came here upon recommendation from Calvet Couture where I purchased my wedding gown. The mother daughter duo who do the alterations are not only warm and hospitable they are seriously talented seamstresses. My wedding dress is a Hayley Paige gown that has very delicate fabric and beading on the upper half. Due to the delicate nature of the dress, I was anxious about handing it over to be altered, unsure of how the beading would be affected. Although I ordered my correct size, I didn't realize how much could be done to make my dress fit like a second skin. They added structure and cups to the bodice, shortened and tightened sleeves, lowered the neckline, and raised the waistline to fall at my natural waist. A lot of designer gowns come ridiculously long on the arms, torso and length to fit these 6ft tall models so I was grateful they showed me how some adjustments could make the dress look like it was literally made for my body. I have one more fitting before I pick up my dress but the hard part of the alterations are over, now I'm just waiting on my hem. I was a little shocked at the cost of the alteration at first (I've honestly never really needed anything hemmed before) but when you spend a lot of money on a wedding dress the last thing you want is to go somewhere that may butcher it. For everything they're doing it cost $650. So in reality that's a great price for all the work they're doing to the gown. I also did my bridesmaids dress for my best friends wedding here and it was perfect. They added cups to the dress and took length off the bottom which cost me $80. I'm happy to say, I've found my go-to seamstress! read more

This mother and daughter run business is nothing short of magical. From the amazing customer service, to the shop decor, and obviously the craftsmanship of the ladies. I was disillusioned with my wedding dress after having it in a closet for a couple of years due to covid. First of all, they are organized, professional and overall kind people. I left my first fitting feeling so confident that they would take great care of my dress (and they did). I thought my dress was beautiful before I had it altered and once she fit it properly to my body, it was even more incredible. I had a panic moment when my zipper broke at my 2nd fitting (the zipper's fault NOT the alterations fault) and they were so calm and reassured me that they would take care of it it right away.
