Yummy food every time we go there. Breakfast or lunch, equally wonderful. Mamma Bear is just the best. I can hardly believe that she single handedly manages every table! Never flustered, just keeps on scurrying from kitchen to dining room and back and forth behind the counter. Such energy! Love the Strawberry lemonade, and that fresh squeezed orange juice is heaven with breakfast. Super delicious avocado toast is sublime! Caesar's salad is perfection! sandwiches are generous and very very good. Bacon is thick and flavorful... too many accolades to list here, but for a small town Café, it is certainly a gem! Our men's group have been going weekly to the Three Bears for most of the summer. Usually eight to ten meet at 7:30. Michelle is always there to greet and service us with a big smile and excellent service. The breakfast is great and reasonable price. You won't be disappointed, give them a try. read more

After reading the reviews, I had to try this place & I was not a disappointed. I ordered the Pancake Combo with Eggs and bacon. The bacon was so good I had to order a second order of bacon and it was just as good as the first batch, crispy & crunchy and an even cook. The two pancakes were plentiful and thick & fluffy! Wife ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs; I too sampled her food and it was also delicious and plentiful. The place was clean and had classic rock in the background. We used to visit this cafe frequently, but haven't been in the area for a year or so. We were able to visit this past weekend and it has changed! Not for the better. I ordered eggs over medium, but they came rock hard. The toast was wet and soggy and bacon was cold and rubbery. They could see my plate was not touched but never asked how the food was...we wont go back. June's down the road is delicious!! read more

This has only been open for about 5 weeks, great little place, family owned. The whole family works here, Papa bear cooks, Mama bear and Baby bear work in front. The food is great -big portions made to order, the pancakes are mixed when ordered, not pre-made mix. the staff was really friendly. Hopefully they will be around for a long time! read more

My wife & granddaughter & I went to the White Mountains this week and had a great time. On the way back to the valley my granddaughter needed to use the restroom so we stopped at The Bears Cafe to use their restroom. It was also time for us to eat something so we ate there. The food was delicious but more importantly we met the owners James & Michele. Very friendly & warm. They are also very civic minded by preparing food for the firefighters working at the Black Canyon Lake. They made over 450 meals breakfast, lunch, dinner. The cafe is a very nice small hometown cafe. The food and service were great. When visiting, there is a sign in sheet when needed. Very clean and friendly owners. Our third visit here and I wanted to make sure that I hopped on and posted a review because the food and service are excellent and the atmosphere is cozy. The chicken salad sandwich was absolutely delicious, simple but very flavorful. Had the homemade potato salad and was pleasantly surprised to find some unique but delicious herbs in the mix. I had noticed this place often as we drove by. We finally made a road trip just to go here. The reviews seemed so good. For us it was quite a bit overrated. It's a cute place and staff was pretty friendly, but quite frazzled. They said it was their 1st day back after the holidays and no one seemed to k ow what they were supposed to do. We had read reviews about the great chicken fried sandwich, but it wasn't on the menu--maybe it's a special. The menu selections are pretty limited. We started with tbe onion rings. They came out nice and hot, but at $5 a basket it came out to $.50 a ring. My husband had the French dip sandwich which he said was ok but nothing special. I had the special which was fish and chips. It was ok, the edges were cooked but the fish in the center was just barely cooked. It was a beautiful day and a nice drive, but I wouldn't make a point of stopping here again. read more

Wonderful place to stop for lunch. If you're up in the mountains and you're hungry, I recommend this place highly. My friend had a french dip and thought it was good, and my open faced turkey sandwich was delicious. The service was excellent, and eating outside was a pleasure with the cool air and pine trees. Brought my Ohio cousins up to my place in Overgaard for just one night. I actually planned to take them to June's Cafe for breakfast, not realizing June's takes a vacation after the summer season ends (evidently for the entire winter?). So, we kept driving west not knowing if we would find something open and thinking we may have to starve until we got to Payson. Was glad to find Three Bears' Cafe open (note I put the apostrophe in the right place!). It was my first time eating there. I am a healthy eater, and love avocados, so I was delighted to find avocado toast on the menu--the first time I've ever had it. It looked like an entire avocado, maybe fresh, but I'm not sure. I usually get a veggie omelet when I go out for breakfast, to satisfy my desire to eat something healthy--I'm sure it would've been equally as good. The less health conscious in my party ordered decadent looking French toast which they said was very good. My only complaint was the coffee, which was timid and bland, as another reviewer described it. I do like bold coffee, and this was far from bold. I'm thinking restaurants should offer coffee choices, i.e. Regular or Bold to possibly satisfy all. So, the coffee was my only complaint. I'm guessing there would be a wait in the summer, but we got right in. read more

Comfortable, CLEAN, homey. Good prices and good food. I had blueberry pancakes, my wife had the short stack. The pancakes were generous, fluffy, and the blueberries in mine were nice sized, had good flavor, and they were plentiful. The coffee is good. My bacon came crispy as requested. The owner and staff are super friendly. Next time we are here we will breakfast at Three Bears Cafe again, and we will come in to try their lunch menu as well.
