Stopped by for a beer waiting for a friend, so sat at the bar . Get me a beer and looked at the menu while I was waiting for a friend who I was hoping was going to show up since I'm new to the area. After a little while, I got some fried mushrooms after Carla recommended them and they were fantastic and continued to deal with a lady sitting near me at the bar, but all was good. Ended up buying a drink for the girl next to me , had a fun chat and she seemed like a regular . she was quite a character and kept engaging with Carla until she finally left and I needed to go. Continue to have a good conversation with Carla and left, but will be back as the mushrooms are good but my previous visit was not so great only due to a new waitress who was very unfamiliar with waiting on tables, but that trip I had a Cuban sandwich and my friend had a shrimp Poboy, which are both really tasty.. great atmosphere, good location I'll be back. *sigh* I just wanted good wings and a decent margarita. Boy was I at the wrong place. I ordered boneless wings & fries. The wings were VERY over cooked. Hard as a rock and dry inside. As ever, this Three Dollar Cafe serves up good food! I love the Mediterranean nachos, but only in-store. Tonight, I did a little taste-testing adventure! I got wings from Wings R Us (do NOT recommend), Mr. Cue's II (definitely recommend), and here. The results? You'll be delighted to find that the Three Dollar Cafe wins the ranch and lemon pepper wings contest. Mr. Cue's II wins the spicy wings contest. I called in my order and it was done within 12 minutes (within the window they told me it would take). The wings were great and they were fried up just right! The medium wings weren't drenched, so they were easy to eat without getting covered in sauce. Their sauce has a slightly sweet tang to it, and the spiciness is just enough to sit in your mouth without making your mouth really burn. Very good. They could've been a touch spicer, but I did like the sweet mess too! The wet lemon pepper wings are made with real butter - it just adds a wonderfully mild sweetness and richness to the sauce. However, all the lemon flavor comes from the dry seasoning. It works though. They COULD add a touch of real lemon juice, but it would probably mess up the richness of the butter. I dunno. The dry lemon pepper wings are just as good, but since they don't have the butter sauce, they are straight-up salty, lemony, and peppery. I'm honestly so glad that I got both at the same time. I usually don't. I always wonder what the difference is. Now I know. I NEED both in order to switch it back and forth between the richness and the sourness. The restaurant is always darkly lit, but that's a standard bar atmosphere and I do love that they have all different kinds of seating arrangements as well as a private party room or balcony area. (Don't wanna be out there in the cold though.) Obviously, I'll be back. The only problem I had was with the phone. When I tried to call in my order the first two times, I got put on hold and hung up on. I called a 3rd time (befitting, after all...), and got my order in. Definitely a great place to meet friends, chill, grab a drink, have dinner with the family, watch the game, or even bring a cheap date. Although, NOT A FIRST or even second DATE....a THIRD date? This was my first time eating at 3 Dollar Cafe and it was your average bar/grill situation. This location specifically location specifically had a large Hispanic crew so the vibe was very Latin - pop/ rnb but I loved it. The prices are reasonable. My reason for taking off 1 star was because their hot honey garlic wings that I initially got were superrrrr greasy with no flavor or heat. Placed an order for delivery...cost $42 for (2) items-fried mushrooms and TDC burger with fries. Menu selection asked me to select (1) side. I chose Fries and it asked if I wanted them Crispy or Seasoned. I selected Crispy. So why did I NOT receive any fries with the order?! I called the restaurant and was told the driver did not pickup my fries which was to be on the side. Ok, so are you telling me the driver is responsible for putting all food in the bag-since when? And if that was the case TDC you didn't say the fries were left behind-meaning you did not include fries at all with the order to begin with. Just very poor customer service-never apologized and only told me I could bring the burger back-What? that goes against all food safe compliances! The managers were just sitting there drinking and supposedly they were evaluating and taking notes on what to improve but they were spending more time drinking their beer than working to improve the restaurant. I come here every once in a while because it's closer to my home. I have seen many owners come and go as well, so you never know what type of vibe or menu that you are going to get. I was craving a burger, so I decided to stop at the Three Dollar Cafe because the food is pretty good. The setup is pretty cool, and they also provide very nice upstairs patio seating. This is a great place to watch sports because they have tvs everywhere! The beer tap has an extensive selection. I do not recommend the mixed drinks. They are severely watered down, and you can't taste a drop of alcohol. I opted for a glass of wine but had to ask for a new glass because the one that I had was dirty on the inside. On a brighter note, my burger and sweet potato fries were delish! This place is, of course, known for its wings, so give those a try as well. They have a variety of drinks and food options.Three Dollar Cafe has a lot of potential and could even brew up a lot more traffic if they offered events throughout the week and weekend. I do believe that they have trivia on one day during the week, though. I do recommend The Dollar Cafe for good bar food and beer, but don't worry about the mixed drinks. THIS RESTAURANT STEALS FROM CUSTOMERS!!!!!!! I recently visited a restaurant with my friend, and we had quite an unexpected experience. We ordered a hangover burger, a six-piece wing, and a Jimador double shot. When we received the bill, we noticed we were charged for a 10-piece wing even though we only ate seven. We thought they might have given us extra wings since the restaurant was nearly empty, with only about 8 to 15 customers. Additionally, we were charged $1.50 each for a large ranch and a large barbecue sauce, which we didn't ask for. When we got the bill, we asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over and said he couldn't do anything about it and refused to take anything off the bill, even though the server made a mistake. He got very mad at us and told us to leave the restaurant. He was the rudest manager I've ever encountered. Overall, the food was decent, but the service and management were extremely disappointing. This review is for the location in Stockbridge. The WORST meal ever for something as simple as a burger. I ordered the TDC burger. The meat was bland, overcooked and sloppily put together. My choice of side was MIXED FRUIT (which was an option on the menu). I received a bowl of grapes! When I mentioned it to the manager ( I assume) he apologized and brought me another bowl of grapes with 4 little bits of pineapple which I believe was garnish from the drink bar. I ordered an ultra premium margarita. 30 minutes later the server came back to tell me they didn't have the tequila that comes with that particular margarita (there were only 5 other patrons in the building so I am not sure why it took so long). I then asked to substitute it for Patron which I assumed was on the same level, or any other tequila of that same caliber. The server came back to say the manager told her no substitutions and for me to order something else. It's not my problem that I ordered directly from your menu and was told 30 minutes later that you don't have all the ingredients and you are not willing to accommodate. Three Dollar Cafe is still around?!?! This used to be the wing joint back in the 90s! I was shocked to see one close to where I live and had been meaning to check them out. I took my son here today to scope them out. This location sits off Chamblee Tucker Rd, right near 285. It's sandwiched between a Planet Fitness & Pool Hall, in the adjacent Kroger Shopping Center. Parking is a plenty, although it can get packed over. Unique about this location is they do have rooftop seating/patio upstairs that's covered. It's a true bar feel inside with tvs everywhere, a ton of beers on tap and nicely lit up bar (glowing in rainbow spectrum colors). They have majority high tops, but I noticed they have a long railing for people to stand and put drinks on. They even a cigarette machine, which I thought was classic for a bar. It is non-smoking. Thankfully, they had a kids menu (chicken fingers, burgers, Mac n cheese) so that was a good start. I was the only one in there with a child, so it's probably not the ideal place for kids (especially with mostly high tops). It's almost not a very large place, more hole in the wall feeling. However, ideal for grabbing some drinking buddies! FYI - there a ton of cops that sit in this parking lot (prob bc of the pool hall). Our waitress was great, and took really good care of us. Checked in on us and did the refills, and got the food out fast. They had a 16oz Hoegarden special for $3, which was PERFECT! I ordered the 9 pack of Mango Habanero wings, and my son got the chicken fingers. His meal came with fries and honey mustard. He said he really likes the chicken, and the fries weren't bad. My wings were sooooooo delicious! The mango habanero was sweet and just the right spicy, probably one of my favorite wing sauces I've had. If you order it, make sure to get extra sauce! First chance to hit the Three Dollar Cafe which recently opened at the Embry Hills Shopping Center on Chamblee-Tucker Road. Originally slated for a spot across from Kroger, instead the restaurant has opened in the prior Loop Pizza spot next to Mr Que's Billiards and Burgers (to the right). Tonight, a Friday evening, we walked up to a relatively busy restaurant at 8:30 PM where we were greeted at the door and told to sit anywhere we would like. The server was very attentive and placed both our drink and food order promptly. We went for the wings (hot) - I've had same at other locations and thought they were the highlight of the meal - much better than those at Cafe Hot Wing to the left of Mr Que's (better, because for the same price you get much bigger wings). The wings were definitely 4 stars, possibly 4.5. "Hot" wasn't so hot that it took your breath away but still spicy, hot and delicious. This will become my favorite local place for wings. We also ordered the Reuben sandwich, which I thought average (we asked for both mustard and thousand island on the side and got neither) - the Reuben was served on marbled bread instead of rye. It was also cold in the center so it should have been heated for another minute before being sent out. It came with steak fries (loved those!) and a squash casserole (which was good but a bit on the sweet side). I'd rate the sandwich 3 stars. The main dining room is very noisy - sit in the enclosed space in the front which is less so (you do have huge flat panels to distract you though). A manager came by more than once to ask how we liked the food, as did our server (she was really sweet). We really liked the Loop that was here before - not so much for the food but for the convenience as both an eatery and a meeting place. I think Three Dollar Cafe will do quite well here. read more

Great spot to watch the game. Lots of bar area seating and plenty of televisions. They have a really cool rooftop which I would have sat at if it wasn't so cold outside during my visit. The staff is very friendly nothing but smiles. Our waiter was very personable and he gave awesome service. The food came fast. We ordered the Nachos topped with chicken as a appetizer. I enjoyed the Nachos and cheese but the chicken was not so tasty I would have been ok without it. I had the hot wings and I loved them, they were cooked just right and wasn't too big. Listen this is my go to spot. I'm here almost every friday for fish tacos which are the ish. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection light and flaky on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
