So disappointed in an Atlanta tradition. We have been going to Three Dollar Cafe since the 80's. And they have always been great. But tonight we arrived at the Kennesaw location. After waiting we were seated and ordered. Food took about 35 minutes to arrive. We had over cooked hamburgers, fries tasted like they had been under the heat lamps too long. But the WORST PROBLEM was the order of Fettuccine Alfredo. After 1 bite I came up with a VERY LONG DARK HAIR on my fork!!!! Called waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. Soon another brand new bowl of fettuccine was again brought to the table. As I inspected the second bowl, what did I see? MULTIPLE black hairs in the bowl . Really seems very purposeful. We ask the waitress if they were wearing hair nets and her reply is "no" But later the mgr told us they do. So patrons beware!! read more

I understand that prices are going up, but I was disappointed in my order today. I wanted wings and thought of both Anchor Bar and Three Dollar Cafe. I remembered Three Dollar Cafe's squash casserole and decided to do take out from there. 6 bone-in wings cost $11.69 and they had to have been taken from baby chicks. They were so small! The casserole was okay...not great...just okay. And it cost $4.75 for an average-sized portion. Needless to say, next time Anchor Bar will get my business read more

I'm only giving one star because the food was "acceptable." We waited 50 minutes from sitting to receive lukewarm food, was completely ignored by the staff, drinks were never refilled, etc. The worst part was watching a man I assume is the manager sit his family 15 minutes after we sat, and then they proceeded to receive the only service in the restaurant. The manager was in and out of the kitchen no less than 15 times with open toed shoes, bringing his own family food while the rest of the restaurant suffered. I say it was his family because he was sitting with them eating. He also had more than one family member in and out of the kitchen, also with open toed sandals, violating multiple health code violations. This was an absolutely miserable visit and we will not be returning. Note: I write this as a veteran of the service industry, so when I say we were totally ignored, don't take it lightly. read more

This place is Great! My daughter &I went Saturday while moving here from school. I order the salad with the pecan & blue cheese with grilled chicken. It was so good. My daughter order lemon pepper/parmesan wing & shrimps with fries. That was good also the wings was fried so hard & good. So I order another piece of chicken & 6 more lemon pepper wings. My daughter said no but I order anyway. I should've listen. It was not the same as the 1 time. This is a nice place right across from the mall which was close because of what we are going though. read more

We are regular customers. My husband's favorite place for wings. We called a million times from 8pm-8:45 for a Togo order. No one answered. Tried to walk into the restaurant at 8:45. (I know that's 15 mins before they close but they weren't answering the phone so that's their problem.) Doors locked. Why would you close your restaurant early? Let the public know so we can think of something else for dinner other than your overrated bar. read more

I have always been a fan of the three dollar cafe on windy hill rd. We tried this location for lunch and was disappointed. The fish tacos at windy hill location were well worth the money but this location fish was almost non existent? Not sure if I will order again or just go to windy hill for my next order. A lot of fine tuning needed here. Orders come out incorrect regularly - amount of wings, missing sides, sauce, etc. Quality of food is okay. Service is so-so. I'm sure (and I hope) they get it together..it's great having a Three Dollar in our area. Nothing compares to the original location in Sandy Springs. This place needs some help. We received multiple completely wrong orders that spread out over three different receipts. We waited thirty minutes for orders simply because their internet signal was no good and they could not take our cards. When we got home we called back to request a refund and even the phone connection is so poor we could not discuss issues with management. When we finally got in touch with someone, we were told they would call us back. After waiting two hours I had to call them back myself and immediately asked for a manager; to which they hung up on me. My girlfriend then called as I was frustrated and was sent straight to a voicemail. Finally we got in contact with a manager who seemed too distracted to understand what was happening and not entirely attentive to the issues. It's just sad to watch mistakes on a $15 order avalanche. read more

Ate here for lunch today. We had Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, Fish & Chips, Wings, and a Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich. The Chicken sandwich was probably the best of the bunch. Classic club with crispy chicken. The fish & chips were generous portions but the fish and it's batter basically fell apart - not sure what type of fish they used but it wasn't firm enough. The fried pickle appetizer was good - maybe a little less breading would be better and some salt. We had two types of wings - bone in wings with a combo of teriyaki and lemon pepper seasoning and the roasted jerk wings. The person didn't really like the seasoning she chose on the wings but it was a weird combo. The roasted wings were well cooked but needed more jerk seasoning. Finally, the side of onion rings. Four thick rings - way too much breading and the onions were hard to bite through. Even if you did bite thru the onions, 85% of the bite was breading - not good for rings that cost a buck apiece. We'd eat there again but they need to fine-tune some things coming out of the kitchen. read more

I missed this place in the years that it has been gone from Kennesaw. Menu Is great with lots of options. Wings were spot on. My daughter and I shared the Blue Cheese chips. The dressing was great and I love home made chips. Unfortunately, on this visit the oil used to fry the chips tasted old that is why I am giving this 3 stars I stead of 4. This is nostalgic for me. Ate at the original for years. Wings were perfect as well as the clean fresh celery and ranch. Old restaurant resurrected..not the same feel. Wings seemed smaller and ambiance was dark especially in the back end of restaurant. If you seat by wall near bathrooms you hear and feel every bump and slam. Only plus was they had every sport playing on a crap load of flatscreen TVs. Waitresses were nice and friendly. I have been a fan of $3 Cafe since I moved to Atlanta in 1986. In my opinion they have the best wings. I was excited when this location opened because it's close to my house. The service has always been good at this and every other location. But.... The last 2 times I have been to this location I'm convinced they are not using authentic $3 Cafe wing sauce. It's lighter in color and not as good. Plus I usually get a couple of the bottles to take home with me but the last time I asked for it they said they were out but offered to sell me some in a to go container. No thanks. Haven't been since the early nineties due to them closing most nearby locations and honestly just haven't seen them in forever. My wife and I went for lunch today, and we were very happy with not only the service, but the food as well. Nothing against Taco Mac, but the food here is far superior. We had the fried pickles to start, then we both had wings (bone in), both hot and lemon pepper, as well as buffalo shrimp. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and tasted great. i came here with my family and this is the worst place i have ever been. we got our salads and they had 3 ingredients and the toppings were not cut up all chunky tomato. my house margerita tasted like nothing but daquila. i got the shrimp alfredo and they got my shrimp wrong i asked for fried shrimp because it was an option. came out baked. at this point i felt like with my adult beverage they were trying to get me drunk so i would think the food was good. my daughters burger came out and it had zero condiments on it. like come on what 4 year old wants a burger with no ketchup. if i could give this place negative stars i would. read more

Most of the food is absolutely horrible. My table order Alfredo, nachos and wings. The wings were the best. Nachos were ridiculously salted and the Alfredo was hands down the worst I've ever tried. I've been going to Three Dollar Cafe on Windy Hill Road (starting with original location) and Dunwoody for around 40 years and have never been disappointed. We just found that there is now a location in Kennesaw and since we had to do takeout, it was more convenient. What a disappointment! I ordered squash casserole as a side and got three additional orders for later. It was terrible. The texture was like whipped pudding, the cheese (what little there was was sitting on top) was slightly melted (not baked as usual), the flavor was totally different, being very sour and tangy with no sweetness, as usually there is, and the serving was equivalent to about 1/2 serving. The cheese steak meat was overcooked and dry, way too salty and had about 1/2 tsp of cheese. Basically no onions. I will drive the extra distance to a different location in the future. Such a disappointment during this shelter in place time when takeout is a rare treat. read more
