Nepalis are famous for their momos, which have been one of my favorite dishes to eat. Ths sauce that comes with it is delicious and they know how I like my tea. Amrit, Rupa, Shanta, and Ashish are a great team of siblings that run and own Three Leaf after they took over and rebranded. Bashanta is the general manager and lead cook, who is an expert at taking on challenges and finds magic to make the meal extremely delicious. We had a craving for something different, yet familiar, and my brother found this place through Yelp. We had originally planned on trying out their buffet, but we showed up a bit too late where there were only bits of food left, and they weren't planning on refilling the buffet, so, we decided to stay anyway and to order off the menu..... and we're all glad we did! The interior is very spacious, casual, and clean.... and having shown up so late, there was no crowd, the place was peaceful and calm, and a great time for us to enjoy our meal.. with very good service focused only on us. I'm typically not familiar with Nepalese food, but perusing the menu, the dishes offered looked almost exactly like a typical Indian restaurant's menu, except there were some additional hybrid Indian/Chinese dishes, like the Momo dumplings that are typical and popular dish familiar to this Nepali region. Fortunately, there were four of us dining in and we were able to order a variety of dishes that sounded really yummy..... like the Steamed Chicken Momos (dumplings), Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower coated in a spicy sweet sauce), Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Lamb Curry, Saag Paneer, Lachna Paratha, and Garlic Naan. How was the food? I don't eat lamb or goat so I can't comment, but the others in the group mentioned the meat was a bit tough, but the curries tasted excellent. As for everything else, I did get to try it all, and everything was so hot, fresh, and prepared just perfectly.... so yummy delicious! Not too sweet, not to salty, and just a great balance of flavors and textures. My all time favorite Indian dish being the saag paneer....pureed spinach with cubes of goat cheese....yummeee! And went great with the breads fresh out of the oven..... very happy and satisfied! This place was a great find as we all enjoyed the food here very much. Service was very good, and with a very nice, casual, and pleasant ambiance. Very good food. We ordered through grub hub. It took over 1.5 hours to arrive. But it was hot. The Kadai chicken curry was on point. The chicken byriam was a massive portion. Yes this restaurant has outstanding dishes and this review comes after my second visit. I had the Lamb Bhuna which was very tender and full of wonderful spices. The garlic naan is buttery, full of garlicky flavor and the rice dishes are just damn good. Both of my visits have been in the late evening, so I can't say how they handle crowds. However, we've enjoyed the attention of being one of three tables being served. Perfect! The restaurant was quiet except for background music playing. I'm back again to talk about this place! It never disappoints! By far the best Indian cuisine you can get. They are top tier and no one does it like them. I always order the veggie samosas with all my orders just because they are the best. No one can compete with them. The service is always so friendly and their ambience is beautiful! They never compromise the quality of their food. Their butter chicken is usually my go to but I've tried so many things on their menu and each dish is absolutely perfect. Also had a chicken biryani , extra spicy. It was indeed spicy but had no flavor. Some will argue the lack of flavor comes from the food being spicy but trust me i have had spicy foods with flavors. Authentic quality Nepalese Indian food. I just wonder why their chicken was so big chunk and not tender? Can they used different kind of cut? We had butter chicken. We wished they offered eggplant dishes in their menus. We ordered two different kind of vegetables dishes and it wasn't that impressive. Me and my boyfriend ordered the vegetable samosa as a starter and OMG it was AMAZINGGG! Our waiter recommended it and at first I wasn't aiming towards it because I am just not a fan of peas and that is what it is stuffed with, but we ended up ordering it anyways because it was our first time here and we thought we would just give it a go. I'm SO glad we did. It's flavorful and crunchy and just an amazing flavor and texture in one and I tasted not a HINT of peas so that was just the cherry on top. For our entrees we ordered the butter chicken and the lamb biryani and both were EXCELLENT. The butter chicken is PACKED with flavor and is so creamy and the chicken was nice and tender! The lamb biryani was also very good but didn't really have a lot of flavor like the butter chicken but was still a very nice dish and the lamb was tender and could tell it was prepped beautifully because it definitely lacked the "petting zoo" taste that some other lamb dishes at other restaurants have. Lastly we ordered the garlic naan and onion kulcha. The garlic naan was absolutely phenomenal. The garlic was definitely there but not too overpowering, it was JUST right. And the buttery, crunchy naan itself was top tier. My boyfriend got the onion kulcha and I wasn't a fan personally, but he was and for him was a 10/10! Overall I recommend the hell out of this place and will DEFINITELY bring my parents here and friends here! My wife and I had dinner here on Saturday, May 20th, around 7pm. It wasn't crowded and we were seated right away. You get a free order of chapati bread with dipping sauces. My wife had the Baingan Bhartha, an eggplant dish. I had the Chicken Tikka Muglai and an order of butter naan. Everything was excellent! I'm glad we got there when we did; thirty minutes later they were hit hard by a large number of takeout and delivery orders. They have a very large menu, including both Indian food and Nepalese and Indo-Chinese food. We'll definitely be back. PS, I ordered some Peshwari naan to take home. It's a Pakistani bread with dried fruit and nuts inside, and it's great. Sweet, but not tooth-achingly sweet. If you've never tried it, try some here. read more

My server was Abid, and he did a phenomenal job of walking me through the menu and recommending dishes of interest. Kept seeing people trying Indian food on social media so my daughter and I said why not. Parking lot was empty I wasn't sure was this experience would bring. Restaurant was absolutely beautiful but the food almost brought tears to my eyes. No joke. As a 1st timer we tried the vegetable samosa , butter chicken mild, chicken vindaloo (my favorite) all served with rice and a mango lassi. Oh and I forgot the garlic naan. Pure joy . I had been wanting to try this restaurant out for a while, and we finally had the opportunity to check it out for Mother's Day. We got there right when it opened at noon on Sunday. We were one of 2 other parties there during the early part of lunch. Right off the bat, it seemed like they were severely short-staffed. The lady who seated us seemed to not know English well, so it was difficult to communicate. For example, when we asked for menu recommendations, she seemed confused and didn't answer our question. To start, they brought out some papadum and chutney as we waited for our order. The papadum was so stale (clearly leftover from the day before) that we had to request a fresh batch. The second batch was fresh and crispy. We ordered 2 mango lassi and literally watched as she took yesterday's batch out of the fridge and poured what was left for us. To add insult to injury, we watched as the other party waited for her to make a fresh batch. The food we ordered was delicious. As far as butter chicken goes, theirs was one of the more flavorful ones I've had. However, their meat curries were more curry than actual meat. At the price point they charge, there should be more than 5 pieces of thinly sliced chicken in the curry. The chicken pieces that were there, however, were full of flavor. The lamb korma was another delicious dish that lacked enough pieces of meat. Adding more sauce than meat and charging more may work with the American crowd, but Indian people know better. We also ordered the dal makhni, which was good, but the meat dishes were just better overall as far as flavor went. Overall, the food was tasty but short on proteins and service could definitely be improved. If they can improve on those I think this could stand out as one of the top Indian restaurants in Houston. read more

For years, this was my absolute favorite Indian restaurant in Houston. After the change in ownership... well, it was still pretty good (although it certainly lost its creativity). After yesterday's lunch visit... I just can't imagine returning. Nothing was terrible... nor did I enjoy any of the dishes (the Butter Chicken was fine). The place was fairly empty. So, for a $17 lunch buffet (prices are rising and the pandemic has taken a toll on restaurants), I would at least expect to be given silverware and napkins. Instead, you retrieve your utensils and a stack of cocktail napkins from the buffet line. Nope. No way. It's a pity that such a beloved place has fallen so hard. I wish them well... but, again, I cannot imagine returning. read more
