This restaurant is new and absolutely does not need a learning curve, the food and service are outstanding right away. They make Tandoori Chicken anything but boring. We had the Tandoori Murgh, Chandi Kaliyan, Hot and Sour Soup and Garlic Naan. They did all extremely well but the Chandi Kaliyan wins hands down in this group. If you're sensitive to spicy foods tell them or be prepared to be tested even at medium spice level. The restaurant is bright with modest decor and staffed to handle both takeout and seated quests. They're located in the corner of a shopping plaza with adequate parking. Given enough time I'll get through the entire menu.

Great flavors! We tried the fried chicken tandoori momos and it was tasty. It is much like dumplings but dough thicker and fillings are by itself. The lollipop biryani was awesome. Very flavorful. The chicken vindaloo was spicy but it was not my favorite. Also had the samosas which was spicy and ok. Got the garlic and bullet nan which were thin but good tasting. Lots of choices, will go back! We had everything spicy, and it was definitely spicy! It was overall a smaller restaurant than I thought it would be but I didnt have to wait when I went on the weekend.

Thank you to my friend Ali we came here the very 1st time. Overall we ordered lot of dishes but I have to say everything was super delicious the quality was good & taste was excellent & Harish customer service was excellent !

Stopped in for lunch at Monk's. This was my second visit here, my husband's third. To start, I love the light and positive vibe of the decor. We like Indian food, but we don't eat it regularly, so we needed some advice about what to order. Javid explained everything to us and made wonderful suggestions. We ate a spicy dish, goat vindaloo, and a sweet dish, chicken tiki masala, plus butter-garlic naan. The food was delicious! The vindaloo was a little spicy for me, but Javid had warned me it might be, so I was ready. Most of the people dining in were Indian families, and honestly I think that is a good sign that the food is both authentic and delicious because people don't generally go out and pay for restaurant food if it's not at least as good or better than what they make at home. Am I right? I recommend you give this place a try. It's in the Kroger plaza at South Mason.

This is a quaint little restaurant in a nearby shopping center. We have seen many restaurants come and go at this location. It is very nice and clean with good service. Our problem is we ordered a Chinese dish from an Indian type restaurant. It was alright, but did not hit the spot for us. We will probably return to get one of the recommended dishes already reviewed.

Our first time visiting and we were delighted. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The portions are generous and spices were tasty. We will definitely return. Thanks for a great lunch!

    Veggies samosa.

The setup is partly self-serve: you place your order at the register, take your number plate, and choose any table you want. You grab your cutlery from the station near the counter corner, and the server will bring your food to your table. You also handle your own cleanup afterward. We love their tea, which is strong and comes with sugar on the side. Their samosa, dal vada, and dosa are also favorites of ours. However, we tried their chaats, and they were a complete no-go for us. They have a very extensive menu, and we're eager to explore more of it. I prefer eating here over the Triveni location in Katy, as the Katy spot is often plagued by bugs flying around due to the attached grocery store and open-ended area. This restaurant maintains a nice and clean ambiance, and I hope they keep up the quality of their food and service.

They have meat options but we decided that today's veggie night. :) Service was steady. We had a large order so there were some delays. When you come, go to the front and order like you would in any fast food place. Pay and bring the number to your table and they'll bring the food asap. There is self service for water, napkin, and utensils. After you're done, you need to out your trash away in a nearby trash can. Parking out front is big and free. One last thing, I'm really surprise this place doesn't have a lot of Yelp reviews. It def deserves so much more awareness. Really vegetarian friendly. And if you love spicy food, this is the place!

Kurry Walah -- Mother's Day Uber Eats Review…read more For Mother's Day, I decided to try the Uber Eats route and create an Indian buffet at home so we could relax by the pool. I'll say that was what my wife wanted, but truthfully, I wanted to hit the buffet myself. That said, the food was flavorful overall, and the cuts of meat were better than I expected for delivery. We definitely over-ordered and tried a little bit of everything, so there will be a ton of leftovers. The butter chicken was my biggest disappointment. I ordered it extra hot, but it came out about as spicy as the medium items we ordered. The chicken biryani was a little salty, but not inedible. Honestly, I would rather it be slightly over-seasoned than under-seasoned. My wife loved her food. My daughter was not as impressed and felt her meal was average. I was somewhere in the middle. The one pricing miss for me was the side of white rice. At over $4, that feels like highway robbery for a basic side of rice. To be fair, I only ordered it because I wasn't sure what came with rice and wanted to have extra in case someone needed some. Everything else felt pretty much in line with market pricing, especially given the portion sizes and the quality of the meat. My score: 3.5/5 My wife's score: 4/5 My daughter's score: 2.9/5 Overall, call it a solid 3.5 to 4, depending on what you order. Good flavor, generous portions, and plenty of leftovers.

Their Indian lunch special was a good deal and offer different varieties. I told the staff to recommend me their popular chicken. The food came out hot and it was a good size portion! The butter chicken was so flavorful with a good chunk of chicken/curry ratio. The saag paneer has the right consistency and not watery. The naan is huge AND comes with a side of rice. Don't forget the mango lassi. It was so delicious I really enjoyed the food and flavor and I had enough left over for snack later! The restaurant is more of a to-go type of style but they do have tables and chairs if you want to dine in.
