Located in the low mountain area of Colfax and a bit off HWY 80 so there are more locals then travelers and I think that's the way they like it. They keep the food simple burgers and pizza - that's it. For drinks full bar and they pour a good strong drink. For those who like that sort of drink will find this the kind of drink they like. Main drink I saw being poured was Peach schnapps, Crown and Redbull. Now for the food, we ordered the large combination pizza. It was better than expected and we only got through half of it and took the other half home for lunch the next day. By the way the the bathrooms are sparkling clean and very unique. They have three bars. Two inside (very dark) and one outside on deck overlooking Cape Horn and Americcan River. We were the onlookers peopele ordering food. We both order cheeseburger and a fry to share. The fries were crispy and hot. Burger was undercooked and bun was soggy by the time i was able to eat 1/3 of it. I can tell this is a place everyone comes for the drinks only. I wish i could give it better a better review but just such a dissapointment. I love the facelift they gave their exterior a few years back but would reallly love to see the inside scrubed clean and updated. outside seating as well. well we've been but their will be no need for a return visit.....

Came in today we were in the area looking to move here , at first site it seemed nice then seeing the flys everywhere was unsettling . Placed a couple orders my daughter got the pancakes they were delicious as was the sasage and syrup thay came with it . My girlfriend got some veggie tacos that were not the greatest and the salsa had chunks of tortilla in it, so do they reuse salsa ?? Not sure, she is currently purging that meal . I ordered the Santanas mess sounded good , pretty sure it was pulled from Santanas garbage ... the potatoes were maybe a day old baked or fried then chilled and then nuked. .. I asked the waitress if I could ordered something else . She was very nice and got me a chicken with sauteed veggies and a salad .... took a long time so we asked to get it boxed up , they didnt box it up so we made it clear we are leaving so they did box it up now . The sauteed veggies were 2 broccolini and half a small onion that was not seperated well so it was not cooked well . They sis not give me a fork so I asked and the waitress gave me a metal fork because they were out of plastic , I then had to return inside because they forgot the dressing for my salad . The salad was old and not crispy or fresh so it went in the trash . My chicken was bland with a hard exterior and chewy inside ....trashed , it was a wasted stop and will not happen again I dont understand the great reviews this place failed on so many levels so I can only guess friends are leaving the reviews . read more

This is the most amazing stop you can make in COLFAX on your way up to slopes in the winter and after a great hike in the sierras during the summer, the outdoor eating area is awesome!! Stacy (owner) has staffed the cafe and now the PUB with great people!! Eric (Chef) makes the most amazing appetizers and entrees!!!! We are from Santa Rosa on our way to Reno this morning. Decided to stop in for breakfast and a Bloody Mary. Friendly service, cute country style ambiance, and good county hardy county style breakfast! We ordered two bloody Mary's and a Irish coffee. The bloodys were a little too spicy for my boyfriend so I drank them both but I though they were great and he really liked his Irish coffee as well! We came in on Sunday! 20 Minute wait. It was so worth the wait! Prime Rib Hash off the hook! My kids had a waffle with fresh strawberries and bananas. To top off with homemade whip cream. What an wonderful little diner! Perfect for Sunday brunchin or a quick weekday lunch. They don't usually do that, but made an exception in his case. I also went for the starters menu and chose the shrimp brochettes (wrapped in bacon) and a side of potato salad. To drink, he got a nitro Scottish ale, and I got a glass of the house chardonnay. Everything was very tasty. Our waitress was very kind, attentive, and helpful. I chose onion rings in the side and they were crispy, fresh and very tasty. The beer menu was diverse and cheap for what they were offering. I will be returning and look forward to exploring more of the BBQ menu.

There was plenty of parking when we pulled in. As you walk in, you seat yourself. I hadn't been here before, but my daughter has. When we sat down (table and chairs kinda place), one server got us a couple of waters while we were looking over the menu.. perfect, because that's what we love to drink. After we decided on what we wanted I got a chance to look around at the decor on the walls. It felt very family friendly with baby pictures on the walls, signs, coffee mugs along the restaurants name spelled out on the wall. It was very cute and cozy. My daughter ordered the Carnitas Omelet (Carnitas omelet with jack cheese, black beans, red onions, avocado, and black olives, topped with sour cream. Served with sourdough toast and fresh fruit) with strawberries. I ordered the Huevos Ranchero's with eggs over medium (Corn tortillas, refried beans, 2 eggs, sour cream, avocado, homemade salsa, and cheese cheese. Also served with a side of salsa.) We didn't wait long, it arrived within 10 minutes. Also, after smelling their delicious coffee, I had to have a cup! A+!!!! My daughter let me try her Carnitas Omelet. Their Carnitas is on point! I love the topping of avocado. The only thing I would change is to get all the salsa on the side. There was quite a bit on the Huevos Ranchero's themselves and it was a little overwhelming. Next time, I'll order it completely on the side. The menu has it listed as homemade... it tasted a little bit like it was Pace chunky salsa. I didn't even touch the side of salsa that also comes in the side and I wasn't sure what the extra side of tortillas was for, but I took those home. My daughter took home about half of her 3 egg omelet and some toast. Maddy was a great server. Everyone helped each other out by doing coffee refills for all tables (not just their own), running out hot food, and helping clean up tables as people finished their plates. Great team work!
