To start I'd like to mention that I've been coming to 3 star bagels since I was 10. So I've been a loyal customer for over 14 years!! The reason I rarely go anywhere else is because they really do have the best bagels in the area. And not just the bagels -- The spreads; egg salad, tuna salad, whitefish, bruschetta and just about everything else they make is delicious! I would give the food five stars -- however the prices are dismal. 3 star is more expensive than ny for the same product. I would give the price 1 star. The service... Also absolutely awful. Not that it isn't fast, but when I order a bacon egg and cheese and all the bacon is in one small section of the bagel or the same deal with the cream cheese on a cream cheese bagel it's disappointing to say the least especially since you're paying a premium for their bagels. They are rude and don't care about how your food comes out. But that doesn't stop it from being very very tasty. Which is why they get 3 stars (they said it themselves!) read more

I'm very picky about my bagels and I really enjoy the bagels here. However, they are very overpriced.

THE local bagel place!! It's always packed and the food is always great, however there is about enough room for 5 people to comfortably stand. It's worth the nudging and attempting to both scream at the great people preparing your wonderful food and hand them the cash; however I'm sure if they opened it up a bit, the experience would be much more pleasant. Watch the parking meters, evidently meters are up and running Saturday morning. read more

I thought the bagels were good until I found another place where they are much better and where they take credit cards. Never understood why Three Star only accepts cash. Also, I question whether or not they are taking the proper precautions during this pandemic. I have noticed that, while the server may be wearing gloves while preparing an order, he then handles the money with the same gloves. Wonder if he changes them for the next order. Also wonder if he wears gloves with each order since it is hard to see what's going on behind the counter. read more

Our favorite local bagel place--- everything and cinnamon raisin in particular and the tuna salad. Get there early on the weekends and before Jewish holidays or you'll be left sad and bagelless. Great bagels and coffee. I live nearby, so I walk here on weekends for bagel and cream cheese and coffee. I am no bagel expert, but you can tell it's the good stuff. No wonder they've here forever. This place is usually packed in the morning when I go. It being so small inside doesn't help the matter either. But the line moves pretty fast and employees know what they are doing. You can see bagels come out of the oven lot of times. Fresh bagel out of the oven is really great. My kids like their breakfast sandwich, simple bacon and egg on bagel or rolls. Simple food, well executed. Municipal parking is half a block away and they even have a small lot in the back. Parking shouldn't be an issue here most of the time. This is the place to go in Fort Lee if you want a good bagel. read more

My favorite bagel place in Fort Lee. I just get the same type of bagel though each time as it is an everything bagel with either veggie or olive cream cheese. Their olive cream cheese is the best and it is not overpowering like some other places. They also make Greek cheese puffs and they are amazing. I also purchased a chicken Panini with roasted red peppers and some other stuff on it for lunch one day. I loved that as well. The service is fast and pleasant as well. read more

This was my favorite bagel place but I'm moving on. My last three visits they had no capers. Really?? It's a staple for lox. Their whole wheat everything bagel is fantastic as are all their bagels. I will give them that their bagels are wonderful. But lacking key items and also high prices, it's not worth my time. The line will get long on a weekend and cash only. There are outdoor tables outside, very nice! Also, the iced coffee is not. It's a cup of ice that you're expected to pour hot coffee over. If anyone thinks this is what iced coffee is, you shouldn't be in the food industry. read more

Breakfast sandwiches are great, but I'd just get a bagel with cream cheese (and sometimes a baked good as a treat). Only reason this place isn't 5 stars is the price. The bagels are nothing to go crazy over but because it's so close to my house I've frequently ordered from them. I've always been able to order by phone and come pick up until recently where I was in a time crunch and I needed to order in advance and when I called the response was "we don't do phone orders." When I explained that I've done it multiple times he responded with "Nah" and hung up the phone on me. Beyond rude! read more

I've been here a couple of times in the morning because it's the only bagel shop on the way to work. I would rather skip breakfast then waste my money here. The customer service is lacking and my order is always wrong. If I get a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese they will forget to toast the bagel or put scallion cream cheese (happened twice) The bacon egg and cheese was also very greasy I couldn't finish it (also asked for no salt&pepper- you guessed it, they added salt&pepper). So one morning I decided I'm going to give this place one more chance and order something completely different. Bad move. I got one of their spinach turnovers and it was the worst spinach turnover I ever had. They even heated it up but there was no point because the inside was still cold. There are far better places then here! and for a bagel shop the prices are expensive. read more

The above rating is actually zero stars. This place was great years ago. Maybe it has changed hands. Whatever the reason, the place is terrible. I go to a place called Bagelmania in Lodi that has bagels TWICE THE SIZE, and there's always a ton of cream cheese, lox and sliced onion on my bagel. This place runs out of everything bagels CONSTANTLY, and the bagel that is half the size of bagelmania's is $2.14 more. Don't waste your money. There are plenty of bagel places in the area or take a ride out to Essex Street in Lodi bc the prices in this place are ridiculous. read more

Bagels are amazing, counter staff and management are a different story. Just the other day, after coming for all 23 years of my life, I was YELLED at by a counterperson who's worked there for some time, just because I asked about the price changes. Maria ignored me until she was done talking. My mom used to work for Maria (the owner) almost 20 years ago when she was a teenager. She told me she was always stingy. Maria will socialize with people she knows, while the entire store is run like chickens without heads. She currently charges $8.99/lb for most cream cheese...WHAT!!! It's $3 for a bagel with cream cheese. That's insane. If you like other bagels, find them elsewhere. Because the customer service is not up to what it should be. read more

I like their blueberry bagel but I don't like their employees at all. Not everyone but this was the second time they said wrong amount. I didn't buy that many. Good place for breakfast. Their bagels are decently sized and soft. Menu consists of things you would normally see in a deli. My only peeve about this place is that they charge for everything. A bagel with butter is under $2 but you want that toasted? That'll be .15 extra. They will charge you for almost any condiments, including lettuce and tomato on your sandwich. As good as the food is, their ridiculous extra "fees" prevent me from eating here daily. Oh and they only accept cash. read more

Mediocre experience here. I only ordered one thing: Taylor ham egg and cheese on a bagel, simple enough. I paid $6.50 for my sandwich even though it said $5.00 on the board. I looked past that but once I got to my sandwich I realized that they put bacon instead of Taylor ham. I specifically ordered and paid for a TAYLOR HAM egg and cheese, not bacon. I tasted my friends' (overpriced) paninis and they tasted like mushy garbage and had to be thrown out. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

My man is in there every single day at 4am shoveling out hot fresh pallets of bagels from the oven. The taste is undeniable. Lox and cream cheese bagel . Special lox sandwich, scallion, the paninis. I've been there twice now since they have the best bagels and breakfast sandwiches in the area. I have had no problem with service either or presentation for that matter. I have been buying bagels for our team members every Friday for years. Three star has delicious bagels. But the owner bites when let off his leash. Last Friday 5-26-2017 while I was making my routine bagel pick up at 620 am. I chose the few dozen mini bagels that we all love. As I began to pay, the owner asked my server "Did you tell him yet" The server replied "no" So the owner in a loud tone, so all could hear told me. " You need to call before you come and take all the mini bagels". Other customers want them too" " I will give you the phone number" I felt sudden shame then anger. I told him that he can take some bagels out of the bag or in fact he can have all the bagels back. He just walked away muttering under his breath. The really nice servers apologized for his behavior. But it was too much to be shamed by an business owner for buying too much product in cash to boot. I will never return to this store. Some advice for the owner, make some more mini bagels and leave the customers alone. read more

Parking is simple and the staff is very attentive and friendly while ordering your meal. The outdoor seating as previously mentioned will be a must for next year as it is really in a good location. I agree with all the other reviews about how good the food is. They really do have the freshest bagels around. I gave them two stars because every single time we order for delivery, the order is wrong. I work in an industry where I cannot leave my office before the next shift arrives, so our option is to get delvery. Again, the food is also very good (if you're willing to wait an hour + for the food) but it is always wrong in some way. I would go some other place but there really aren't any others around my area. read more
