Very cute bakery! They have some nice patio seating as well as indoor tables, but wow was it busy - you know it's good if it's that popular. The one thing I didn't really like was the set-up - having never been there before, I was asked to order before I could see even half of the display case options because of the line. They seemed to be out of a lot of baked goods since it was afternoon, so get there early if you have your heart set on something! I ended up going with a chai latte, which was very good, and tried a few of their cookies. The pistachio rugelach and apricot bar were particularly delicious. Unfortunately I was waiting around for the latte and it turns out they forgot the order but couldn't have been nicer about it. Overall, worth a stop if you're in the area!

Three Tarts Bakery makes every occasion sweeter with their speciality cakes! Their cakes are always beautifully decorated, moist, and delectable. I also love that they partner with local businesses for their produce! I have yet to try their cafe foods but looking forward to it on my next trip to Northfield. Thank you Three Tarts Bakery for your exceptional service and cakes!

Breakfast sandwich, but where is the cheese?

I went here on a whim after a dentist appointment because it was close by. It was a cute bakery in the middle of a small shopping mall. The people at the counter were super friendly. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, a cappuccino, and a piece of cake, which totaled $25. The breakfast sandwich was not overall good; however, the bread was. I can't say that the chocolate cake was impressive either. It was fine, as was the cappuccino. For the price point, I'd want to be impressed, but I was not. I would give the place another chance if I were in the area in the future.

I hadn't heard of this place but was nearby and stopped in to get a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was ok. But luckily I didn't realize that you pick up online orders on the shelf in the hallway because I wouldn't have stopped inside the shop. Their gingerbread cookies are sooooo good! That was a nice little treat. Their ginger chocolate chip muffin was something I haven't really seen before and that was pretty good too. I would happily stop in again if I was nearby.

A lemon raspberry muffin and a blueberry muffin.

Small little cafe, delicious but a bit expensive. It was frustrating that prices were not marked clearly for new customers. I ended up going to the register blind. The lemon raspberry muffin was ok, mostly raspberry flavor, very little lemon. But the blueberry muffin was fantastic. I'd be curious to try more of their items (especially the cookies!) but it's definitely going to be a rare treat at over $5 per muffin.

Even cuter a shop in person than online! Initially, I found this delightful bakery online when seeking special desserts for my cousins 98th birthday. Today is her 101st birthday, so I worked with three tarts bakery to coordinate a couple trays of delicious pastries. The staff was very friendly! They organized and coordinated, beautiful platters, even tying them with a beautiful red ribbon. The shop is adorable! It is small and located within the shops at Northfield Village Square with plenty of parking. The café has indoor seating aside from pastries and coffee, this café has a nice menu. Highly recommend.

Came in early right when it opened and grabbed a Buttermilk shortcake, like a muffin to go. It was flavorful and dense and moist. At $3.25 not overly priced too compared to some other places. The staff was friendly and very willing to help. Will have to try some other bakery items here someday. The shortbread cookies are quite good here too.

I have been excited about the addition of Bean Bar to our neighborhood in downtown Northbrook for a…read morewhile.  We finally had a chance to visit together before we went to the Art in the Park the Saturday of the Mother's Day weekend!  It totally justified all the hype! Given it was a Saturday, there was an annual art fair in the Village Green close by, and the Mother's Day weekend, we expected it to be very busy, and it was justifiable so.  There was a rather long line placing orders at the cashier, but it moved quickly.  There were many laminated menus for us to read while waiting in line.  The cashier was friendly, patient, and helpful in answering questions.  Our daughter ordered an Avocado Toast and a Berry Zen Refresher.  My husband and I found that a good idea, and each of us also ordered an Avocado Toast, although I had hoped that I got different types of dishes to photograph, lol.  Husband had a Cappuccino, and I had a large Iced Pistachio Latte (oat milk).  This simple brunch came up to $77.34 with tip, and it's worth it. All 3 Avocado Toasts were perfectly made.  All the ingredients were very fresh, although there wasn't a lot of seasoning, the taste of each ingredient worked well together to achieve a delicious dish.  I especially liked the over easy egg and the crispy edges of the warm toast.  My Iced Pistachio Latte was very good without being too sweet. Although the food and drinks were the star, the ambiance was so pleasing and relaxed that totally elevated the entire experience.  The dining room with high ceiling and chandeliers was spacious and beautiful.  There were many different types of seating for patrons -- big comfy couches, regular tables, high-tops, small booths, conference rooms with long table and chairs, small private rooms... not to mention about the large sheltered patio with many tables and seats!  As I have mentioned, we went at a busy time, there were not a lot of tables left for dining purposes, we opted for a high-top.  Even though the venue was almost filled to capacity, it still felt very airy and comfortable.  I could just chill there happily for half a day with my latte! However, there were small hiccups that fortunately did not ruin our first experience there.  My husband's and daughter's drink came out almost instantly after we sat down, but I had to chase down a staff (there's no servers except for the staff who delivered the dishes or cleaned tables) to tell him that my drink was missing.  I told him that it's supposed to be cold but with no ice.  He immediately got me a Pistachio Latte but with ice.  The cashier lady had specified no ice on when she placed the order for me, I talked to her about this and she offered to make me a new one, but I had already had a sip and didn't want to put the drink to waste, so I just kept it.  I later scooped out all the ice so that it did not dilute my drink, and it was good.  I must mention that the food came out in just 5 minutes even though the place was busy. Our high-top table wobbled when we used our knives and forks to cut the toasts, not a very big deal, but the restaurant could easily have that fixed as I am pointing it out now, It's one of the high-tops under the BB sign. This brunch kicked off a very happy Mother's Day weekend.  I was in a very good mood going to the art fair from Bean Bar.  We will definitely return to try the many other items on their menu.

I love the brick walls, high ceilings, and the wide variety of seating areas - both indoor and out. Staff here is wonderful, very friendly with top-notch service. When you arrive there is parking available on the street. Walking into the restaurant you'll feel like your surrounded by plants, and you've walked into a elevated yet relaxed restaurant. For drinks I ordered the cool as a cucumber (el mayor anejo tequila, spicy agave, lime, cucumber coconut foam) and something with elderflower that changes colors (I can't remember the name of the drink). To start we order the Cauli-Wings (garlic parmesan; carrots, celery, poppy seed ranch) which were excellent and you couldn't tell it was cauliflower. Next we ordered the calamari fritti (king oyster mushrooms, pickled pepperoncini, carrots, marinara arrabbiata) which was also so good and a great way to start the meal. We also ordered a pizza which I believe isn't on the menu anymore. For dessert we ordered a chocolate cake dessert with vanilla ice cream served in the middle. Definitely recommend checking out spirit elephant if you are in the Winnetka area.

While they were open for dinner in the past, WB now only serves until 2:30pm, which is common for brunch places. Plan accordingly! My go to is the chipotle chicken crepes. I always opt for a savory brunch bite. The potato pancakes are thin and crisp and pair nicely with applesauce and smooth sour cream. A lovely addition is Dollop Coffee specialty drinks like tiramisu or chocolate orange cold brew and lavender vanilla lattes, all around $6.50. Kids' menu has plenty of breakfast and lunch options for young ones 10 and under. Hash browns or corned beef hash on the side are popular with my kids. Friendly waitstaff. Cozy, nostalgic, and super inviting. We were seated quickly, and our server took great care of us throughout the meal. We started with fresh orange juice and coffee, which was the perfect way to ease into brunch mode. I ordered a small stack of pancakes with spicy hash browns and bacon, while my husband kept it classic with scrambled eggs and toast. And wow...the food absolutely knocked it out of the park. The hash browns were insanely good. I never realized hash browns could pair so perfectly with pico de gallo, but now I'm convinced. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the bacon was thick-cut and cooked just right. This is definitely a spot we'd come back to. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food somehow manages to be even better.

As expected, the restaurant was packed, both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. Families filled the dining room, with children of all ages at about 90% of the tables. The team at Pomeroy has been so consistent and professional, that all of our dishes were delivered at a perfect and steady pace, and qualities remained high. Although we got a different server each time we went, they were all very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.  This time, Carlisle did such a wonderful job even though she was super busy, and she wished me a happy Mother's Day several times to make sure that my day was special.  I must mention that the friendly hostess greeted me with well wishes too, and said happy Mother's day again when we left. We had noticed that they had replaced the couch in front of the courtyard fireplace with more tables.  Who could blame them when they had so many patrons to seat.  However, the courtyard still looked gorgeous. Now on to the food and drinks.  I had a mocktail Bleu 75 ($13) that's my favorite, my husband had a glass of chardonnay ($17), our daughter had a Le Spritz Strawberry ($16).  We shared an order of Sea Scallops ($23) and a Warm Tomato Tarte ($19).  I had my go-to dish which was the Mediterranean Sea Bass ($38), I loved the seared skin that was crispy on the edges. Husband and Daughter each ordered a Spring Halibut ($92 for 2) from the Mother's Day menu.  We ordered 2 Strawberry Crème Brulee ($28 for 2), and I shared 1 with my husband.  I also had a cappuccino ($6). The check came up to $283.05 before tips (they add a 3% surcharge to each guest check, which may be removed upon request, we didn't).  As always, our dinner was very enjoyable and it's worth the money.  I had a very happy Mother's Day dinner, and it ended a wonderful weekend with high notes!  We will keep returning!
