This is truly a hidden gem you can blink and pass it. I was hungry and pulled in on the journey from Long Island to my house in Honesdale. Where is fear is very charming and gives you the feeling of going back in time. I strolled in a little after 4 o'clock when they open and found out that they have an early bird for $15.99. I said at the bar and Ordered Cajun seafood. I cannot believe in this day and time how much food and of what grade quality I had for 1599. We were looking for a nice place for our vacation seafood dinner and called for reservations. We had trouble finding it and called since we were 15 min late, our waitress stayed on the phone and guided us in and waved us down as we pulled into the parking lot! Not only were the people extremely friendly and accommodating but the food was probably the best we have had in a long time. Highly recommended for a fun night out with exceptional food! My wife and I along with 4 friends ate last night at this restaurant. We were exceptionally pleased with the service we received and extraordinarily pleased with the food!! Since we eat out quite often in three different states, take it from me this place is really good. I had the seafood cakes which knocked my taste buds into submission. Best seafood I've ever had! My wife had the chicken Caesar salad and said it was especially good. The owner, Phil Cordero, knows his spices and is truly a top chef. Our friends had an assortment of menu selections from the Prime rib ( he finished every tender bite) to the chicken Marsala, to the ham special. Without exception, rave reviews were voiced by all. Make sure, when your visiting or living in the northern Poconos, to try this country restaurant out. It's a visit worth taking. read more

Three Wishes is a great restaurant serving hearty Italian dishes with personal touches. The food was delicious, our table had an eggplant ricotta roll up, a veal dish , and the warm spinach salad. We all enjoyed our meals so much we shared them with each other. The service is another high point of the restaurant. Our waitress, Patsy, was very attentive, kind and personable. At one point my grandmother was asking me to ask the waitress for ice next time she comes by, and next thing I know Patsy is walking to our table with a cup of ice and a spoon. The carrot cake dessert was also delicious and I love the "everything" bread and bagel chips on the table. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

If you're looking for a high quality meal from a trained chef... this is the place to go. Though a little bit out of the way, I think it's worth the drive. I switched it up this time but my favorite is the chicken Frandsche's their specials usually hit the spot too. My wife loves the stuffed shrimp (forgot to get a picture). We like this place. Finally made it here for Thursday night specials. $5 mussels were yummy. $5 peel and eat shrimp was plentiful. Also had $7 steamed clams, plus clams on the half shell and escargot. All wonderful. We normally come on the weekend and love the prime rib! read more

I've been here a few times and I love it every time! Favorites: The bread and butter are homemade (as far as it seems), the dill dressing (don't be skeptical of its color, it's delicious!), their Italian dishes are always good as well! This was a fabulous treat. Pleasant setting, friendly staff . Excellent menus . Very good food. We enjoyed a drink at the bar with a wide selection of beers and traditional cocktails. We were escorted to a quiet table where we enjoyed a wide selection of appetizers which were delicious. Two of the party hac cod each or which were prepared differently. Lovely local Italian restaurant. The house (dill) dressing was great with the salad and highly recommended. Sauce on the shrimp parmesan was fantastic. Unique spot for good food (really good) and friendly service. We walked in late on a Thursday and were greeted with smiles and seated in a perfect corner spot - loved the homemade bread and bagel chips / dipping oil too! Apps for $5! platters of peel n eat shrimp and clams/mussels in garlic butter YUM... Steak au poivre , veal Marsala and crab cake entrees did not disappoint - we decided to take home one of the homemade desserts to save for later / we will definitely go back next time we are in town. read more

This visit was about 2 months ago, was a little apprehensive about posting but decide to do it. Haven't been here in quite a few years and it has gotten worse instead of better. Last time we were here, we decided the place was getting a little run down and chose to eat elsewhere. The other night decided to give it another chance. Now for my 3 wishes: First wish was that we hadn't gone back. The inside still has not been throughly cleaned or updated. It is exactly as I remember it back in 2004. The ceiling is covered with water stains from leaks, the carpets are old, worn and stained and walls need to be scrubbed and painted. Second wish. Wish I paid more attention to what I was ordering. Should have gotten something very basic, like a hamburger. Ordered Chicken Marsala and it was bland and tasteless. Also, my friend and I ordered a "Stella Atois" beer. How could you go wrong you ask? Well, we were charged $6 a beer and when we left, on their outside sign it advertised $5 Stella Atois beers. My fault! And now for my third a final wish. I wish I'm never tempted to go back. This is a fabulous restaurant. The service was great. Quaint atmosphere. I went on Thursday evening and they have seafood appetizers for $5.00 shrimp, clams, or mussels. They must have friends who write the reviews. We went there because of the good reviews. Big mistake. The place was pretty empty with only 3 tables occupied @ 6 pm. We ordered the shrimp scampi with melted mozzarella, chicken parm, and chicken marsala. We ordered the green dill dressing for salad. Salad was basically nothing but ribs (the hard part of the lettuce), some onions, 3 carrot shavings, and super salty dressing. Terrible! No tomatoes or other toppings. The marsala dish was awful, had absolutely no flavor, tasted like hot water with a bit of color added, and the chicken was tough and also had no flavor. Did not get asked what type of pasta we would like with that. You get a tiny silver bowl with some sort of vegetables....maybe 1/4 C. worth. Couldn't figure out what it was. Looked like it had some small bits of cucumbers in it and some tiny chopped up pieces of other stuff. Was such a small amount it was laughable. Scampi was just ok but had about a Tbsp. or more of chopped garlic in it (way too much!). Chicken parm was ok but sauce had lots of celery pieces in it. Never saw that anywhere else. Waitress never once came over to check how everything was or if we needed anything. Coffee came with a small bottle of milk, not half & half. When we asked if it was milk, the waitress said it was half & half, which was a lie. I know what half & half tastes and looks like. It was definitely milk. We even tasted it separately on a spoon. When you poured it into the coffee, the coffee stayed dark and did not taste like coffee with half & half. Fine, if milk is all you have, say so and don't tell me it's half & half when asked. When we left, the bar was crowded but restaurant still was pretty empty. About an hr. after we go home, I ended up spending most of the evening in the bathroom with diarrhea! Never are we going back there again. No, we are not picky, we just like good food and this isn't the place to get it. My mom was a chef so I was raised on her fantastic cooking and she taught me. There are so many other good restaurants to go to. They named it "Three Wishes", seriously? Well, one wish was we wished we hadn't gone there at all! Maybe it was just an "off" night, or the cook was on vacation, etc. All I can tell you is we will NOT be a repeat customer. read more
