Went with the Big Aussie and had no regrets, the bacon slabs were monumental and you can't go wrong with sides of sautéed spinach and baked beans. Orange/tangerine juice was fresh and sweet, but I'd expect no less in FL. Maybe the only criticism was that the service was a little overbearing/pushy, but that could have been because they were training someone or because I'm a typical antisocial New Yorker that wants to be left alone once my food arrives. read more

I wanted to like this place, but as other reviewers stated, the food was bland and blatantly over priced. I wanted to order the Eggs Benedict, which allows you to substitute for pork or salmon. As it allowed for substitutions to begin with, I asked if I can substitute for bacon instead - of course, all substitutions are $3-4 more than the already $15 plate. The waitress said absolutely not. So instead I ordered a poached egg on toast - $10 - plus hash browns on the side - $3 extra - and received the most bland egg on a cold piece of bread with a small scoop of hash browns (the hash browns were pretty good). No refills on coffee; though it would have been nice to even been asked by the waitress if we would like more. Water was room temperature (I like ice cold water). Waitress only ever came by to drop off check. I don't mind pricey food in exchange for good quality and taste, e.g., The Eating House, but this was definitely not worth it. My boyfriend and I left $55 bucks poorer and still hungry. Unfortunately, won't be returning. read more

Best brunch in the Coral Gables area. Been here several times with my girlfriend and we adore it. The coffee is slow drip so you know it's served fresh. Everything is very quaint, from the wooden tables to the mason jar cups. The servers are very friendly and attentive. As with most brunch places, go there early on a Sunday, it does get packed. Usual favorites are the Smashed Avo - avocado with mushrooms and a poached egg on top of crusty bread. I was slightly nervous because there was quite a crowd when we arrived. Regardless a pleasant gentleman took our name and assured us it wouldn't be a long wait. It wasn't! As packed as it was we only waited 10-15 minutes. The space is bright, light and full of life! A little noisy, but not distractingly so. We were able to have conversation without any trouble hearing one another. Our order for drinks was a cappuccino and also pomegranate lemonade. Love the mason jars the drinks are served in. The cappuccino hit the spot and the pomegranate lemonade was refreshing. For my meal I ordered the Avo-Toast with a poached egg. It was fresh and definitely enjoyable! Amazing service! I love threefold cafe! I have been here several times and it's always a five star experience. This is a quaint little cafe in the gables with an extensive menu that touches all sorts of foodie obsessions. Their avocado toast is definitely their speciality but the waffles, Benedicts, cold brew and juices are also fantastic. I didn't love the quinoa salad so I don't recommend that. The owner is friendly and receptive and came by to ask us about our experience at the cafe and ask for recommendations which made us feel special. This is definitely on its way to becoming a regular spot for me. Another add on! I ordered the avocado smash on toast with the option poached egg on top ($2 extra) and was not impressed. The poached egg was lukewarm and the avocado was not anywhere near ripe. The toast tasted like cardboard even tried cutting it with a knife presented difficulty. The service was very good as was the coffee but this place has terrible acoustics and a tiled floor which you can hear unbearable screeching from the metal chairs scraping against it. I have been to Threefold multiple times now, and every time I leave, I always feel the same. The food is good and fresh, but it never feels worth the bill I get at the end. I definitely think it's a bit overpriced for what you get. This time around, I had the chai tea latte which was great and the phenomenal fungi. Now, I am a mushroom lover and I've had this dish before, but this time it felt like there were way too many mushrooms, not enough goat cheese, and for the price and amount of mushrooms, I really wish they'd give two pieces of bread instead of just one. ZTB bread is the best! My sister got the same but without the goat cheese as she tries to eat mainly vegan..vegans beware, there aren't a ton of options and many of the dishes specifically say they cannot be modified. My mom had the waffles, which she enjoyed, but nothing I couldn't make at home myself. Again, the food is good... just missing that extra something that makes you leave saying Wow! That was amazing! First of all, it is so hard to find a family friendly brunch place that has great food & great coffee. Oftentimes, we sacrifice quality for the sake of comfort. Today we went to Threefold & the kids portion were huge, the service was stellar, the ambience was hip & cool (something we rarely get to experience as parents of toddlers), the food is local (they serve Panther Coffee & zak's bread), and they were FAST. My husband got the eggs Benedict on a hashbrown & i think he probably "won" with his order. I dislike eggs Benedict but this was no ordinary eggs Benedict. It was like the eggs Benedict took one oath of sacred order & transcended into a higher being. The bacon is amazing & different from normal packaged bacon you could ruin on your own time. Overall, we say this place was a win & we will definitely be back. The kids had the waffle which we light & fluffy & I could have eaten all of it, but they wouldn't let me touch their plate. The manager who I also think might be the owner based on his Aussie accent was friendly & kind to our son who was acting like an animal having thrown a fork at me for trying to eat his waffle (see? He loved the food). I tried the Vegemite on zak's bread, which be warned: unless you are ok with salty, extremely savory, umami-type flavors, may not be something you're into. I, for one, loved it. It's salty, smoky, and perfect with butter on toast. There is a kids area that distracts kids while parents eat; my family has a "we eat together" rule so my kids did not utilize it until the end of the meal, but it was quite popular & had some cool gender-neutral toys as opposed to the popular Fisher Price junk. Now that we have discovered this place, we will definitely be frequenting more often. read more
