After a disappointing (terrible) experience at Three's many moons ago, I've been hesitant to return. Literally, for the last 10+ years I've thought that I should check it out again, considering it's weathered so much in the last few years and survived. I'm so glad I did. We made a reservation for 5:30 and were seated promptly. We were able to get an outside table under the monkey pod tree. Our server, Paul, was attentive and super helpful. A member of our party has severe food allergies and we felt confident when they handed us a specific gluten-free menu. The food was exceptional. Huge appreciation that they put the kids' orders in first so the kids weren't antsy. Everything we had was cooked exactly as requested (two members of the party had steaks), and everything was delicious. Definitely bummed I missed out on this gem for the last 10+ years but already planning my next visit. read more

Just alright. I had the surf and turf that included 2 pieces of fried shrimp that tasted average and a snack sized short rib. Shrimp was probably store bought frozen but at least the short rib was fork tender. Not much wow factor as the you'd expect from a surf and turf. My wife and I had dinner at Three's on one of their outdoor decks. The setting is nice. We both ordered the Caesar Salad with blackened fresh fish. I have eaten a lot of blackened fish various ways and almost without exception it comes under seasoned. Not at Three's! This was the best blackened fish we had ever had. Nice and spicy complementing the caesar very well. On prior visits we had excellent Ramen and Quesadillas. Our waiter Walter was terrific. Very friendly and just the right amount of attention. We weren't drinking and have gotten less attention from wait staff at other places because of it. Our bill was not huge but Walter treated us very well. Thanks! read more

We loved it. Very welcoming and service was excellent. Food was delicious. I had the Ginger fish with rice and amazing curry sauce and my family had the Teriyaki Chicken, also delicious and frankly the way Teriyaki sauce should be made, not too sweet but with a depth of flavor. The accompanying salad was nice sized and the dressing was slightly sweet and perfectly made (I'm picky with dressings). We started with the spicy tuna roll that was fresh and ample. Extremely nice staff and good selection of food and drinks. I definitely recommend making a reservation on the weekend because it's pretty popular. Their brussel sprouts were really good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the ramen broth but it was still pretty good. It was pretty slow on a Saturday night but the staff was extremely accommodating and gave us free fries since our food took a while to come out. Overall it was a fun experience and worth trying if you're not in a rush! read more

Our table of 4 ordered 4 entrees that were ok, however the Kalua pork nachos were a HUGE disappointment. We've ordered this before and they have since changed the cheese, which now tastes more like canned nacho cheese sauce. More importantly, every single chip was over fried/burnt. Also, could not taste the cilantro aïoli or truffle oil, only a few jalapeños and meat portion was minimal. Not sure if they got a new chef or not, this use to be our favorite entrée. read more

Ambiance: Very nice. I love the look when you walk up to the restaurant. Inside is very nice and setup like a grill would be. Service: Very good! The waitress brought our waters the moment we got settled in! The waiter came out promptly and was very nice. The food was quick to come out as well which was a definite plus for me. Food: Not that great.... So the drinks were very good let start there. We had different food items: ramen, fish tacos, hot wings and fries. You would hope that at least one dish was enjoyable and fortunately yes one item was decent. The French fries we very crispy, not greasy and taste very good. As for everything else? The wings very very dry, the taco was too tough and had no decent flavor to boast about. And the ramen, made my friend have to park across the street to throw it up. I'd say the saving grace for the restaurant was the fact the the manager came out to greet us and ask how things were, (I had only the taco my friend and daughter hadn't eaten much yet) and the waiter was very friendly and polite. I am now standing outside assisting my friend while she pukes all of her dinner and then some out and it hasn't even been 5 minutes since we left. The cook should get some retraining. Was in panic mode trying to find a place for Thanksgiving dinner. Stumbled on 3's, got immediately seated in a very busy restaurant but they had a sign "to allow everybody to eat tonight please keep your meal to 90 minutes" or something to that effect. I appreciated them saying it up front instead of feeling rushed. The Food was spectacular- shrimp tempura roll for the table which the kids devoured and then we ordered the boom burger, spicy chicken sandwich, coconut shrimp, and buttered noodles. All of the food was spectacular especially for being so busy. Service was amazing, and didn't rush ordering or eating. They did have a very nice thanksgiving meal on the menu but we avoid being home to avoid the thanksgiving food, so the whole family was thrilled they had their full menu. Great atmosphere, great location, don't have a single complaint. Walked away full, ready for bed after a long day of travel, and thankful for staff willing to work on a holiday to serve my family. read more

Disclaimer/apology that this review comes a bit late... As I was going through photos from our Hawaii vacation, I stumbled across photos from Three's and relived the wonderful experience (and recalled the deliciousness). Though this review is a few weeks belated, I had to be sure to sing praise & leave a FIVE STAR rating! This wasn't a spot we had put on our dining itinerary in advance, nor had we done any research prior... But, we overheard the name mentioned in several conversations and made a mental note. Driving by the area one evening, we noticed how packed the parking lot was, so we pulled over and popped in. There was a bit of a wait, but we put our name on the list hoping to see what the fuss was about. WORTH IT! The ambiance is modern, clean & chic -- trendy meets romantic. And, every food & drink we tried was awesome! The lilikoi cocktails spoke to my island heart, and the kalua pork quesadillas seemed so simple, but WOWEE MAUI were they phenomenal! This spot was highly rated for their happy hour menu, so we made it here right before it ended at 6pm. Unfortunately, all the outdoor seating were occupied, so we had to sit inside. We weren't too hungry, so ordered a few items to try it out. For drinks, we had the Southside Mai Tai ($5.50), which was good for the price. It's a bit on the sweeter side though. For the appetizers, we ordered the Hurricane Fries ($7.50), Coconut Crusted Fish Tacos ($5.50 each), Panko Crusted Ahi Roll ($10.50), Salmon Avocado Roll ($8), and Unagi Avocado Roll ($8). Everything was pretty mediocre despite the happy hour pricing. The fries were simple and the mochi crunch are just crackers. All the rolls were pretty small and not really worth even with HH price. I will say the fish taco was the best item we tried, but still pricey at $5.50 each. It was a fairly big taco though. Our server also only checked in on us once and said he'd return before HH ended, but never did. Nothing really special not that great of a deal here unfortunately --maybe just for drinks and a good view if you can get an outdoor patio seating. read more

Me and my Fiance just ate at this place and we are appalled. The waitress helping us was extremely rude and disrespectful. She kept glaring at me, even before she introduced herself. I cannot really remember her name but I believe it was Maria? She sounded like she had a Hispanic accent. When our food was delivered, my Fiance got a burger and the sauce was only in the middle, like at McDonald's. When we asked for more sauce, the waitress said verbatim, "did you try it?" When it clearly was not spread. They even had the audacity to charge for the sauce, when they couldn't even spread it properly begin with. After that, I think she realized she was being rude and quickly started acting nicer. Food was okay, nothing special and I personally wouldn't waste my money again on it. After that experience with the waitress, I could not wait to get out. The hostess that sat us was so kind though. Didn't catch her name but she was the one with the fun glasses and was wearing a skirt. We had high hopes for the place after our introduction with her but it was quickly turned upside down. Was willing to overlook that and then they took over 30 minutes to bring a slice of key lime pie out. In short, I can see why they had reservations available on a Saturday night at 7pm. When we arrived, we were told they were out of silverware and we had to wait a bit for them to get that resolved. No problem. Seated 15 minutes later and it took about 10 minutes for a server to come over and take our order. I had the worst spicy margarita I have ever had in my life here. It tasted like drinking cayenne pepper mixed with tonic water- there was no flavor at all. All of our food was subpar, nothing was insanely great, but the group did enjoy the pulled pork quesadilla. The sushi was kind of bland. With our server taking forever, and the mediocre (at best) food, it was definitely not worth the Maui price tag. The service was extremely disappointing. Despite having a reservation, we were seated in the bar area and left waiting for 15-20 minutes without being greeted or offered drinks. We eventually had to get up and ask if someone could take our order. One dish arrived well before the second, and after 25 minutes, my wife's meal still hadn't been served--even though mine was already finished. We loved Three's! This is a favorite spot of our friends that live in Maui. It's also in a nice shopping area in Kihei. Our server was super nice and conversational. To our dismay, they ran out of their ramen broth the night before, so we stuck with the happy hour small plates and sampled a few of those. The garlic noodles were my favorite and so good, really amazing flavor and oil sauce. We also got the mango habanero wings and the Kahlua pork nachos, both good. I liked the cilantro sauce on the nachos. Fish tacos looked bomb as well, but we were maxed out. Several things on the full dinner menu sounded good so I wouldn't be surprised if we make it back here our next Maui trip, especially to hopefully try that Ramen next time! read more

Rude waitress full of excuses as to why our food took so long, empty water glasses that never got refilled until we flagged her down. This place is great and the food is quality! I've visited this place each trip I've made here! I love the diversity of the menu and staffing is very friendly. I had the Kalua Pork quesodilla and several different crafted cocktails. The Wait time isn't bad for a place that seems to be ALWAYS busy. Food came quickly and with a smile. Of course I took the safe and basic af route and ordered a California roll and a Salmon Avocado roll. They were great, you can never really go wrong with them. Now, that Trident! Omg it was delicious, my only regret is I ate the other ones first and needed help to finish the Trident. It is a beefy roll, topped a lot. I would recommend trying it! I have to mention this, due to one of my group members hatred of onions, it does have onion in the roll. Might have been the first roll I've personally have had with onion or I just don't pay attention enough when stuffing food in my face?! I love it, but again this group member didn't so warning to onion haters... just try it bro! I also had drinks, of course I had drinks! On this visit I had the Lilikoi Lady and Maui Mule... both drinks were made very well and sweet... If you have read my reviews before then you know I'm a sweet drinker and anything fruity is right up my alley! The more colorful a drink the more I'm likely to drink it! That being said these two drinks aren't colorful but hold the sweetness I desired! The Maui Mule is made with Rum, I have to admit I've never tried a Mule with rum but rum is my favorite second only to vodka so it was a pleasant experience! The Lilikoi Lady was just a sweet drink, I didn't quite pay attention to its ingredients but I recommend it for sure. Newest additions to the menu this last visit was the Honey Girl, A bubbly shy but satisfyingly refreshing drink. read more
