Me & my beau was on a thrift shopping hunt and came across this huge thrift store!! Inside is very roomy and well organized, but has a lack of stuff to find or to dig! My 1st dig was at the stuffed animal rack and was disappointed!! I search for only hello kitty anything and only thing i did found was a new hello kitty body pillow which cost 15.99, i really wanted it but HE said no.. at a thrift store c'mon! Hahaha.. Maybe i will go back and get it without his consent, unless somebody else bought it!! Argh, i think i shouldn't of said anything on yelp!!! Overall, i think this thrift store is kinda whack due to empty racks and random junk.. However, it has LOTS of clothes which i dont normally go thru. Pricey but not as high as Goodwill! I love thrift stores and this place is okay. Staff is friendly. Found a brand new North Face Jacket for $30! It's organized. Not a lot of plus size woman clothing to choose from. The shoes are really old. But their baby clothing/ children has a lot of variety. I can't keep a good secret to myself. I've gone shoe/clothes/purse shopping here, and let me tell you... The selection is absolutely unbelievable. Racks and RACKS of shoes. I bought 5pair in one fell swoop at $5 apiece, quality jeans/pants at 3-5 apiece, a few purses... The Stockton Blvd location is slim pickins in comparison! I've only been in Sacramento a year and first thing I do usually is check out the thrift stores in the area for home furnishings, etc. I'm into upcycling and believe there's little a good cleaning and/or a fresh coat of paint can't fix right up! When I first visited I was all it's okay, not the best but not the worst I've seen either. Just basically okay. NOW?!?!?! what a difference! I don't know what happened, who took over but the place has undergone an amazing transformation for the better. It's so much better organized and everything is so neatly set out. this used to be a great thrift store. But I don't know what happened and who does their pricing now. I could go to a retail store and get better prices on most of that stuff. They had a rain jacket that retails for $32 way more than twice that much. That a pair of jeans that was faded for over what I would pay for three pairs of jeans at a new store. RIDICULOUS. Decent selection and compared to savers or retail the prices are reasonable. However for a thrift store that's a non profit corporation that is claiming to want it give back to its community belt providing affordable products then I feel they have FAILED to give the community a cheap store with quality products. Probably the best Thrift Town location in Sacramento. They did go up on those prices but they're nothing a coupon or a sale day won't fix. Slightly better quality women's clothing selection than Carmichael and a better larger/plus size availability than the Stockton Blvd location. read more

In my experience, they have a very large selection of clothes that are well-organized by type. There are so many clothes on the rack that you really have to browse through them one at a time by hand; you can't really see style or type without shoving the other nearby clothes out of the way. I'd suggest examining anything you intend to buy carefully for holes or stains, I've found tiny ones before on potential purchases and had to put them back. There are changing rooms available that are usually unattended. It's the kind of place where you can buy a whole new wardrobe, if you're willing to spend hours there searching for clothes and trying them all on. The sheer size of its selection is the biggest thing it has going for it. And, if you sign up to be a member, they send you a $5 off coupon about once a month. read more

The store manager DEBRA is very very very rude... One day i was browsing the jewelry counter and found a nice watch...i was interested in it and wanted to see the brand..and as i was getting closer and closer to the counter trying to see clearly, she says to me "take a picture,it will last longer" and walked away laughing ...i was so shocked by her actions and more so embarrassed by the few employees and customers that were there at the moment...i tried to let it go but, i couldn't so i decided to ask her about it and she tried denying it but admitted to it in a way after-ward ..i still have the confrontation video...she didn't have to be rude,if she had nothing nice to say ..she should have not said anything at all... read more

I always like Thrift Town their selection is massive and rather organized. When I leave I always feel like I won a game. The items here are dirt cheap, even for some of the higher scale brand clothing. I found a pair of Ed Hardy jeans for 7 bucks. I've also picked up various high end bags for 15-25 bucks. I live nearby, so I shop here pretty often. It's always clean and organized. The layout has changed a number of times, but right now, it's great. I like that the toys are next the children's clothes and nowhere near the glassware. I also enjoy using their coupons to get even better deals. I highly recommend joining their VIP rewards program. It's completely free and they frequently email $10 or $5 off coupons. There is also a $5 off coupon for every $100 you spend, so it's a great way to save even more money. Worse thrift store ever went there to get a cake pan and a keyboard the keyboard didn't have a price tag or sticker on it I have someone in the back that was working in the electronics area how much it was they told me it was $2.99 I proceeded to the front to pay for my items then they told me they couldn't sell it to me because it didn't have a sticker on it and I asked if they couldn't sell it to me why did they tell me how much it was this store is messed up in kind of overpriced on some items I for one will not be coming back here I will go spend my money somewhere else read more

In love with this place ! Jeans are a bit over priced for a "thrift store" but they are in good condition. I'm so happy the color tag sales are back up but I SWEAR they put away the good items that are supposed to be part of their sale. For example, yesterday was 80% off pink & 30% off blue. Most pink items were nowhere to be found, barely, especially if it was priced at $7.99 or higher, until tomorrow when the pink sale is over they bring out the pink tagged stuff. UGH ! Once I came to shop for antiques & vintage items when i found some name brand things for really really good prices, I couldn't pass them up & as I was checking out some lady took the items & said she couldn't give them to me, told me the tags were switched & gave me a complete attitude like I was the one who switched them ? Okay lady, you seen me carrying a $3,000 Chanel purse so no way in hell I changed the tags. This is my favorite Thrift Town...probably because I live nearest it! I used to go the the Stockton Bvd. one more often, now I frequent this one. You can find some great deals there, some stuff is pricey, but they have the tag sales, and some clothes are marked like $2. I have to spend 3 hours when I go, it's so large, and I have to see the whole store. Love it! read more

It used to be great but now, the pricing is higher, selection lower, and some things were way overpriced. Compared to Goodwill, it may have more furniture and sometimes electronics. But for bric-a-brac, if they have it-- a lot of it is new stuff from the $ store. and it's not $1.00. Well on this day, i come to this store for no apparent reason, simple browsing. I scored some dam near brand newkie Nike Air, pink and purple and hella brand new for $24. On my way to checkout, i stopped by the Outdoor -section and come across like 10 or 12 of these wooden slats i need for a park bench. it had the screws taped to it. when i read the directions, the pieces of wood was part of a park bench kit!! A while ago, i was helping a friend move out of his apt. i noticed a park bench in his patio that was missing some its slats, alot of its nails were gone. So i took upon myself to disassemble it. AAnd to havinfg found these wooden slats, with the nails excited me, to say the least. So I proceed to ask an employee for someone because it didnt have a price on it. Long story short, the mngr said she cant sell me that item becuse its missing the actual park benches, or the sides. wtf? Are you kidding bro, you dont even have a return polic. Let alone, allow people to return items. I was bout to just throw all my stuff in the air but i wanted the Nikes so it wasnt all a lost. Couple days later my friend and i go and the wood slats were gone. I love love this thrift store! Its huge! unfortunately I got there the last hour it was open but Im sure I could have been there for a couple because there was soo much to look at! The shoe section is so big compared to most thrift stores I go to and so is the Jewelry case! Which the sales lady behind the counter was on top of asking me if Id like to see anything which is rare. Granted is it pretty messy but what can you expect its a thrift store. Atleast everything is catagorized really well down to long dresses short dress short sleeve dresses etc. The prices are really great too way cheaper then goodwill and every other thrift store Ive gone to and every day they have a certain color tag that will be 50% off I honestly cant wait to go back! Oh only downside is that its in a sketchy part of town and there were homeless guys asking for money outside the store and cursing at people. read more

Being that I'm all for deals and I have a pretty bare apartment I figured I'll go to the thrift store and see what they have... Thrift town was the first and closest thrift store that came up so I drove into a shady part of town and went into the store. Went to this location of Thrift Town today. It used to be my favorite thrift store to shop at. Today, it was just too far below their old standards. (1). In any given category of clothes, like coats for example, the sizes were just hopelessly mixed up. I used to go there because they kept on top of the organization of the sizes. (2). Some of the prices were thru the roof. I saw a Gap label women's sweater priced at $24.99! (3). They now use an automated label on their tags, and the print is TINY. Overall, the impression I got was that they had reduced their staff and were trying to make do with fewer people. It was depressing. I hope they can meet the challenge of having fewer people to do the work, because the place is suffering and so is the customer. read more

This place has a great selection of clothes, womens mens, kids. The "better clothing" was a bit pricy for me except on sale days. Staff is very helpful & friendly and they have restrooms too... great for those shopping days when you find a ton of stuff to try on. Good selection of shoes... I've found some nice shoes for under $5 that were in very good condition and there is a section in the middle and left of the store for furniture and electronics too. read more

I painstakingly shopped for an hour. Finally found some things I needed. I put my cart at the end of the aisle so that I didn't obstruct the pathways, and I left it there for no more than 5 minutes, and an employee took it away! One hour of hard work gone. UGH. read more

It really just doesn't get any better. I drive nearly 2 hours to shop at many of the Thrift Town locations. The prices are usually decent, but now and then something is priced like new, instead of used but that is a rarity IMO. I've received friendlier and more attentive Customer Service in these stores while in sweats than I have dressed in labels shopping @ Macys. Joining their club is definitely necessary as you'll get significant savings when you have built up rewards and advance notice of their sales days. This Thrift Town is quite big and very well organized. I highly suggest coming here in the early evening or morning, as in the summer it is just too hot! I was dripping with sweat, on my departure. I came here the other day for the first time. I usually go to the other Thrift Town in Carmichael--so, this was an adventure for me(!) I would say that the two stores are fairly comparable...At times, I wondered if this store's prices were slightly higher? But, for the most part, they def. seems to have a model of the way merchandise is set up--vintage, "better" clothes, etc. I found many different things in the showcase that I kept asking one employee to show me--and she was so friendly and didn't mind at all. All the staff there seemed very nice. There was definitely some kids running around acting crazy, despite that announcement that comes on telling you to keep your kids with you--just a suggestion, but maybe that should be in Spanish, too! All in all, it's definitely worth a stop here if you are in the neighborhood--there are some good finds--if you don't mind digging through a lot of rough to find your diamond! read more

Thrift Town is the best thrift store I've ever been to. I love the Fair Oaks and El Camino locations the best. My sister and I have an addiction. We spent this whole summer going to Thrift Town on many occasions and always left with a cart-full. My sister has 4 small children and was moving to Germany this fall so we needed to stock up on warm clothes and things for the winter there without breaking the bank. We found everything we needed here. We even went to the SF location once too. I have found Paige denim jeans here for $5, a Tulle pea coat for $3.99, and countless other quality brand items for great prices. I live in San Diego now and none of the thrift stores here compare. I look forward to visiting, just so I can go to Thrift Town again. And my sister said its one of the things she misses the most now that shes overseas! read more

This place is huge! I was just in there to check the place out and it was surprisingly big and clean. Their stuff were organized. I saw an $8 ukulele in pretty good shape but didn't get it because I don't know how to play. They have a huge selection of clothes, books, and knick knacks.
