I only tried one thing so I can only give my opinion on this; the banana oat milk flavor in chocolate cone! Yummy!!! I'm not even vegan or anything but it just sounded good. And wow was it delicious. Their flavors change so I made a good decision. It was light yet creamy and substantial. The crispy chocolate cone much like an Oreo, complemented the banana flavor so well. I wish I could go back for another! My son got the Japanese soda flavor with crème brulee topping and he enjoyed it. Owners were nice and patient when I was so indecisive. No one was waiting in line yet so. Oh and there was a sign that said no samples which is understandable, I don't really sample anyway, I like to gamble ha! It's cute in there with lots of signs. And my favorite color pink. Ample seating, beat the heat this summer with chill and Thrills!
The crème brûlée cookie dough ice cream is dangerously good. The custardy crème brûlée flavor is rich and creamy without being too sweet, and the cookie dough pieces are generous and perfectly soft. The caramelized sugar notes add a subtle crunch and a deep, toasted flavor that takes it to another level. Every bite has a great balance -- smooth, indulgent ice cream with just the right amount of texture from the cookie dough. It tastes decadent but not heavy, which somehow makes you want to keep eating more. If you're a dessert person, this flavor is a must-try. I'd absolutely order it again.
I really enjoyed my experience here :) The worker that helped me was very kind and attentive in answering all my questions. I came for the Big Island Cookie collab ice cream and it was sooo good. The cookies infused with the soft serve reminded me of Kith Treats... I wish they kept it and that it wasn't limited to only a few days. The ube soft serve was very good too! I've tried it in soft serve form and in the Creme Brulee version. Both very good! Will definitely be back - the interior is super cute and they open later than other dessert places which caters to people like me - who come alive at night lol
We walked over for dessert after eating at Totoya across the street. It was my first time here even though I pass it all the time. There was a constant stream of customers for the 20 minutes that we were in the store. It's a cute ice cream shop with lots of catchy phrases on the walls. We decided on one of the popular combos, Sugar Baby $8.50. It contained sprinkles, teddy grahams, chocolate chips, Oreos, Cocoa Pebbles and Chocolate Pocky's. We had a choice of soft serve and we got the Oreo. We were expecting vanilla ice cream with bits of Oreos in it. However, the ice cream was just brown. It tasted like chocolate ice cream. The Sugar Baby wasn't bad. It was just too much chocolate for me. It would have been better if it was true Oreo ice cream. What caught my eye was the creme brûlée ice cream. Someone ordered that and it looked pretty dope. The ice cream was on the bottom and they blow torched some kind of sugary coating on the top until it hardened. I want to try that the next time I'm here.
This place has been here and while and I never stopped because I don't really love soft serve. Recently we went to dinner at a place nearby that didn't have any dessert options so we decided to try out Thrills. I had low expectations (again not a huge fan of soft serve) and thought it was mostly a place centered around Instagram foodie shots but I went when they had a special collab with Aiea bowl and offered a lemon crunch cake crème brûlée. I'm not kidding that I think it's one of the best desserts I've had in recent memory. Please please do this collab again, it was so good. My daughter got the ube soft serve sugar baby, she gave it a 10/10 on appearance and taste. Parking can be limited, the parking lot in the back was full when we went and so was street parking. So we had to wait for someone to leave, it only took a couple of minutes. Overall, nice setting, good place to fulfill your sweet tooth, and super cute aesthetic.
This was my first time trying out Thrills, and I really enjoyed it. The location is easy to find and convenient. There is an ally next to the shop with some parking. Ala Moana mall is also close enough to park at and walk over. The inside is clean with a good amount of seating. Staff members were very friendly and helpful with making my decision of what to get. I got the crème brûlée cosmic brownie ice cream. It was really good!
Thrills is my go-to restaurant for soft serve in town. Their vibe is playful, branding is fun, service is fast, and provide plentiful seating in and outside the restaurant. They have plenty of choices that include soft serve, sundaes, and lactos-free options. My go-to is the Cookie Butter Sundae with the banana oat-milk soft serve. A great choice if you are looking for ice cream or a nice cold treat in town.

I've been going here for years, how have I never written a review??? My favorite ice cream place on the island! It's rare that an insta-worthy food place is ALSO delicious. Their Asian inspired flavors are always so fun, unique,and nostalgic, and they don't mess around with the toppings! The crème brûlée that they've been doing for the past year has been life changing. I need the Dubai crème brûlée to be a permanent menu item it's so good It's a little pricey but these days what isn't? They put a lot of thought and love into their flavors and you can really tell, it's more than worth it. Love you Thrills
The service wasn't the friendliest, but maybe because it was an hour before closing. The matcha had a strong, legit flavor that leaned more intense and slightly bitter instead of sugary sweet, which I actually loved because it tasted like real matcha. The ube was good too, just a bit more mellow compared to other places. The star for me though was the creme brûlée. That little caramelized top with the creamy center was honestly the best part.

Staff was very nice and helped us understand the menu easily so we didn't get overwhelmed! Everything was as good as we hoped, but honestly even better. I 100% recommended trying both the banana sundaes and the creme brulee ice cream, they did not disappoint. Definitely will be returning to try out new flavors read more
I was craving something sweet and found this place on Yelp. They're located on Piikoi St near Ala Moana. Parking is an ish but if you're lucky like me, you'll find metered parking right outside of their store. Upon arrival, it appeared to be quite an instagramable environment. I was the only customer mid-afternoon. After viewing the menu, I ended up getting the mango ice cream with toasted marshmallow on top. The combo was interesting because it had that sweet/sour thing going on. I really enjoyed it! Service was great! The lady behind the counter was very helpful in assisting me with making my decision of what to get. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area and able to find a parking spot! read more

Not only does Thrills have amazing soft serve, the interior of their ice cream shop is aesthetic and the perfect backdrop for dessert photos! I ordered the salted banana creme brulee and service was quick! The soft serve was vegan, I believe. Loved the contrasting salty and sweet flavors of the creme brulee and banana with chocolate drizzle! They have rotating flavors on a weekly basis so stop on by and try one their specials! read more

Got the fruity pebble crème brûlée. Didn't taste a lot like fruity pebbles but thought the crème brûlée was alright. I think personally in order to successfully achieve this you would have to do the crème brûlée and let it set in a freezer. The reason for the two stars is no samples. First time trying Thrills! Ordered the Crème Brûlée with banana-chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, and the Calpico white Peach special. Both were delicious and creamy smooth. The crème brûlée topping is thin and crisp with perfectly matched banana chocolate ice cream. The white peach flavor was peachy delicious, strawberry pocky, Oreo cookies, sprinkles and mini mochi adorned the edge of the cup. Both were sweet and satisfying for a warm evening treat. My boyfriend and I went here for our Hawaii trip. Overall, this place was okay. Parking was a bit difficult to find. They have a variety of flavors and merch. My boyfriend ordered the crème brûlée Oreo pandan and we couldn't really taste the pandan. read more
Went to try the strawberries made to mimic the Dubai chocolate bar that has knafeh, pistachio cream and chocolate. Not bad for $10. My girlfriend and I both found it to be tasty and definitely worth a try. My only issue is with the logistics of the way they were taking orders. We were told it was a 15 minute wait and were given a number. Instead of calling out the number when it was ready, we had to go back to the counter to check and pick it up. We were one of few groups sitting inside the store without our order so I assumed they would just let us know, but it wasn't until we saw the person who ordered after us walk out with 3 orders that we knew it was time. And we had to wait a little while longer on top of "checking in" on the order. read more
Thrills always has many people talking about it's super cute aesthetic in the store, and also their friendly staff, and it showed when I went to visit them in person! The sweets on top of that were amazing - I've tried a couple over my past few visits, but the last one I tried was a S'mores one with Ube flavoring and I was so happy not only with how it looked in photos, but how it tasted. Gooey, creamy, and sweet - the perfect snack for a hot summer day and you happen to be walking in Honolulu. The service was okay. The store was cutely decorated and clean. They offered interesting flavors, and I believe they change them once in a while. I only tried the black sesame oreo on a charcoal waffle cone, and I enjoyed the flavor a lot. read more

Tasty soft serve but I'd say it is on the pricey side. Very aesthetically pleasing dessert for sure, worthy of the gram. For me personally though it costs more than the joy it gives me. The ambiance is nice inside but service was just ok. read more
I've walked by Thrills more times than I can remember, but after a beach day with my husband and dog, we decided to give it try -- and we're so happy we did! Not only was their soft serve very velvety and delicious, but their Ube and Charcocoa waffle cones were also amazing! As for the shop, it's cute enough; very welcoming, clean, and "hip". Not necessarily my aesthetic choice, but it's non offensive regardless and who really cares anyway when the ice cream slaps so hard? First things first they're the Thrillest A small ice cream shop next to Ala Moana Center is probably aesthetic incarnate, bright colorful wallpapers, flower walls, neon lights, with unique sayings or backdrops for delicious ice cream I tried the matcha mango soft serve which was dairy free and had a surprisingly refreshing twist, while not specifically tasting like mango or matcha, it was still balanced and not overly sweet. The two workers were really nice by offering samples and explaining the flavors, and seem just as friendly and funny as their Tiktok presence suggests. read more

Came in and had the Dubai chocolate strawberries and Oreo creme brulee. Service was fairly quick about 5-10 minutes to prepare your items. They have seating indoors. Very creative ideas and the strawberries were pretty good. My husband loved the Oreo creme brulee ice cream. Staff was friendly and quick so we would come back again. read more
GET THE CREME BRULEE! If I could just leave my review to that, I would. I've been here 4x and the last three times I always get the creme brulee. Any soft serve with a drizzle sauce mixed with the custard and caramelized sugar... you got yourself a FREAKING GOOD creme brulee. They also have preset/signature soft serve combos if you're into a lot of toppings. I'm not really into that because it gets hard to eat but it's aesthetically pleasing like the design of the shop. They rotate flavors every month but the flavors are always really rich and is probably best even without toppings IMO. Service is good. I've always gone during non-peak hours where it's usually empty or just before it gets busy so I never had a problem. 3 out of the 4 times I've been here, it was my dessert after Ichiriki so it's a nice transition from a hot meal to a cold treat. read more
Not gonna lie, the service is sub par. The two owners are always working when I visit, but one of them is literally never smiling. I've been a customer for years and her demeanor is always the same...flat and uninterested in her craft. No aloha, no hello, just bored. It just feels so sterile every time I walk in. The flavor menu changes frequently, with ube being the only permanent flavor. (They do ube the best, i'll give them that)! Here's my $14.40 order... "Bad B* in a Cup" - Milo Cookies and Cream flavor with Oreo pieces, pocky and a torched marshmallow. It tasted just like milo, so extra brownie points. "Matcha Lavender" - Tasted like a bad/old batch of matcha that they decided to hide by slapping "lavender" to the name. It lacked sweetness and tasted so sour. There was no noticeable lavender flavor whatsoever. The worst matcha flavor and lavender flavor desert i've ever had. After stopping by regularly for years, i've decided to keep this shop in the archives for good. Sure, their flavors sound fun. But their service makes me feel so sad...and that matcha lavender...that was a major fail lol. With all the options this island has to offer, I think it's best to spend my coin elsewhere. read more

HUGE social media presence which is great for the shop! I've been here once and wasn't that impressed but then I saw their new addition of the crème brulee soft serve ice cream and had to check it out. It's located next to Ichiriki and Teapresso on Piikoi Street. Parking is a bit terrible as there's three or four street parking right in front or a paid lot in the back that always seems to be full. As I mentioned, had to try the crème brulee soft serve! I was able to choose the flavor of my ice cream and also a topping. I went with ube ice cream and a honey topping. I can't really remember what topic I chose tbh.... because I didn't really get a taste of it in my ice cream.... LOL. But definitely the ube and crème brulee was there! The cup was kind of small for the price paid. But we're just paying for the cool crème brulee feature! The ice cream itself was overall okay. Nothing too spectacular about this stood out especially since I ALWAYS choose ube flavor things. The crème brulee was just okay too. The entire dessert actually melted relatively quickly after the crème brulee was added on top. Expected because of the torch, but I couldn't really enjoy my dessert without having to worry about it melting all away. Sad. I was again unfortunately unimpressed by the quality of the ice cream. BUT the entire gimmick and advertisement of the new ice cream was 110% great because I found out about it through IG and TikTok! It was a miss for me but maybe it'll be a hit for others! read more

This place is so fun! Always fresh and exciting flavors, high quality ingredients and lots of toppings, this is the soft serve place to go! The staff is super friendly and nice even when there's a huge line. The inside is really cute with places to take selfies with your treat and your friends! I had this place bookmarked with a note of "unique ice cream flavors" so I was a bit bummed when we came and the flavors currently offered weren't super special. We decided on the "Baddie" sundae, which has chocolate pocky, brownies, Oreos, Reese's puffs and a toasted marshmallow. We substituted the choc nut ice cream for ube instead. It was a beautiful looking sundae, and delicious, but I think it's something I can find back home. I was hoping for a more unique combo but I think I just came at the wrong time. Hopefully we'll catch some yummy seasonal flavors next time around! Parking was really difficult to find on a Sunday evening. We circled multiple times. Then we realized the place was literally across the street from Ala Moana so we just parked there and walked over! Also, right now as of January 2022 you can't dine in. This is a tough kinda place to get takeout because you want to eat it right away! We just walked back to our car really quickly and ate it right away even though it was starting to melt. read more

My cousin and her family are in town from the mainland and wanted to meet up for Boba or something cold to eat. She was craving Ube soft serve and heard of Thrills. This'll be all of our first time. Honestly, I don't really know much about this business except she texted me their address and they open at 1pm. As a townie, you already know parking is a challenge. I arrived first and wanted to check out the menu, the guy who greeted me was very friendly and welcoming. He pointed out that they have several flavors this week. I must say the shop is really cute, super hipster, perfect for social media posts/stories. Now we're ready to order but see that there were other customers inside so they asked only 6 people at a time, One by one we ordered. I personally don't like to think to make my dessert. I prefer to just order an already created item. I understand it can be overwhelming to take orders from a group of customers, maybe it was just me I don't know, there seemed to be a different vibe with the girl compared to the guy helping to make our orders. It almost felt as if each of us was being a bother asking her for this or that, and that each extra topping was free or going to be a charge. We don't mind paying for it, especially when the kids came all the way down here for dessert, and I will pay premium for good quality ice cream with good customer service. Everything we had was yummy and pretty to look at. Only 6 people allowed in the store, with only 4 seats and 2 tables outside, while all the chairs and benches inside closed off didn't make sense to me. Also, samples weren't available, while other ice cream/gelato shops have it as a courtesy. Wouldn't one want to sample to satisfy their curiosity? Maybe I'll come back again if someone else suggests this place. read more

Really enjoyed the fun flavors of their soft serve and friendly service. One thing to note (that I wish I knew before going) was NOT to pay parking in the paid lot in the back of the building - pay from the app using the QR code in the store. It would have cost $2 vs $7! Might be something for the owners to post in their info section. read more

Cozy little shop near Ala Moana. The line wasn't long when we got there on a Saturday afternoon. Service was great and dessert was delicious! Nothing bad to write about this place. If you're looking for an insta-worthy and sweet treat, this place is worth checking out. read more
