I had a friend who had just finished the Tahoe Trifecta and had just finished Born to Run. I've always hated to run but here was another girl (who was by no means a skinny little thing) and she was kicking butt! So 8 months have passed, I am down 30 lbs, am healthier than I've been in years, and absolutely dread missing a workout! That's right, I find reasons to grab extra classes (do the run Thursday night, grab Juicy on Saturday) and I have even started running on my own on Sundays. I have never been that person; I've always hated working out - sure I've gone through phases of just making myself do it. But last Sunday, I ran 2 miles without even thinking twice (I didn't love it, but I'm obviously getting closer to one of those people who love running). Kaia is a lot about community. Early on, I realized it doesn't matter if you are a skinny 20-something or somebody's grandma, Kaia welcomes you with open arms. Every exercise has a modification and the Koaches can change anything depending on your abilities, level, or injuries. So if you are looking for a lifestyle change, aren't getting enough out of your solo workouts, or aren't sure how you'll fit in to some bootcamp style class, go sign up for your local Kaia - you won't regret it!

We were lucky enough to adopt our dog Stella from Sally, and we are so incredibly grateful. Sally had fostered Stella for a few weeks and trained her very well, so when we brought Stella home she was already house trained despite being found abandoned in a dog park only weeks before. Stella heeds commands, she is respectful of other dogs both on and off leash, she doesn't beg for food, she doesn't bark incessantly, she knows her boundaries inside the house, and she is the sweetest little thing in the world. A couple years after we adopted her she did go through a teenager-style phase of not wanting to listen to us once she was off leash, so we booked a couple refresher sessions with Sally at Run-A-Mutt and Stella was back to her best behavior in no time. We are so grateful for her and so in love with our sweet girl, and we would never have found her if it wasn't for Sally! If your dog is in need of some training, there is no one in Reno or Tahoe who will care more about your dog than Sally. Hire her!

I had the privilege of working with Jamie, and she has been absolutely fantastic. She's incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and knows exactly how to challenge you while still making every session enjoyable. She took the time to understand my goals, adapted workouts to meet me where I was, and always created a positive, motivating environment. I never felt judged, only supported. One of the things I appreciated most was how personalized the experience felt. It was clear that my progress mattered, and Jamie celebrated every win right alongside me. If you're looking for a place with experienced trainers who truly care about their clients, I would absolutely recommend giving them a try. I'm grateful for everything I learned during my time here and appreciate the positive experience from start to finish.

My one hesitation: towel use is inconsistently allowed. My first class back was a full 90-minute traditional class (all 26 postures, twice) with a newer instructor - I used a towel briefly, just for grip during bow pose, and it wasn't an issue at all. In my next two classes, at two different locations, more experienced instructors firmly enforced a strict no-towel policy, citing traditional Bikram purity. What's interesting is that this doesn't match the studio's own history. A 5-star review on this page from about three years ago specifically recommends bringing both a large towel for your mat and a small towel to wipe sweat - and the owner replied directly thanking the reviewer and welcoming them to the community. So towels were clearly fine at one point. The studio also modifies the traditional method in other ways today (music in the 60-minute class, dog yoga), so the current strict enforcement feels selectively applied rather than a consistent, longstanding rule. Worth knowing going in if you sweat heavily or need a towel for grip on certain poses - bring a sweatshirt or wristbands as a workaround, or ask before you book.

Never really had an issue getting equipment despite the size of the facility. Only downside was, it would sometimes take a while for pieces of equipment to get fixed. I was happy that they froze memberships during the first part of covid. Once they reopened it took me a while to get back over to freeze my membership until I felt comfortable going back but it was easy enough. Once I got vaccinated I reinstated my membership and was happy to be back until I went during the week after work which is usually the start of their peak hours. I was sad to see about 80% of the guys were either wearing their mask under their chin or some straight up had them off and were walking around without a care. I saw one guy even talk to a desk worker and the kid said nothing to him about having his mask under his chin. I emailed them to inquire about their mask policy (because I know some will let you have it off) and no response. I know I shouldn't care since I'm vaccinated but when there's signs all over saying masks must be worn at all times, it shows me how "serious" they are taking it and it just shows the type of crowd this place draws in. I decided to cancel and go for a closer gym that's bigger with more perks and they are amazing at enforcing covid protocol. When I canceled at EF, I did ask about the mask policy and the desk worker said ppl are suppose to have masks on at all time. It's just too small of a gym to not enforce the masks especially because there tends to be a group of elderly clients that go there regularly. And they were able to get an extra monthly charge because of their 30 day cancellation policy despite me canceling a week after they charged me for the month . Oh well. It's not a bad gym but just not the place for me anymore.
