First time trying axe throwing, I absolutely loved it. Kyle was so cool explaining everything to me and of course with my Yelp check in I received a discount. Axe throwing was actually a great way to unwind and blow off some steam. Will definitely try it again .....

Booked an hour for a bachelor party. Place is in downtown SD and nearby bars and restaurants. Kyle hosted us and was top notch. Recommend if you're in town and looking for something to do.

About to do some axe throwing!!

Throw it is just a super fun, recreational experience! We spend an hour throwing axes. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. They showed us techniques and gave us advice to improve our throws.

"Throw it!" Is a perfect addition to downtown! Located next to Bub's, this low key spot is 10/10 on the fun scale. If you have never tried this, it's amazing! #1 they have the best options to throw. Multiple axes and a shovel head, which quickly became my favorite due to the level of difficulty. Very easy to do and lots of fun! #2 They will actually print out a picture of your ex and have it on the target for you! Talk about motivation. #3 they have a bunch of retro video games, brand new and free to play! Sorry Coin-Op. #4 The staff are amazing and will show you the best way to throw. The first time I couldn't get the shovel head down, the second time around Kaz showed me how to throw and I was nailing it. When the zombie apocalypse comes, I've got my weapon of choice! IG Tip: A picture in front of the bullseye holding an axe is pretty legit.

This was such a fun find in SD! My husband and I were walking around after seeing a comedy show and happened to find Throw It! I have never done axe throwing before and wanted to try. It was around 10pm and the place was pretty quiet...which we didn't mind. Only one other group there. We got a throwing demonstration and some tips. After throwing them axes (and shovel) and few times, we actually started getting the hang of it! They have the rules for different games you can play posted on each lane. This was a fun activity! Would be even more fun with more friends. We rented the lane for an hour but after about 30 minutes we were done. We even played some of the arcade games before we left!

Super fun! Highly recommend whether with family, friends, or date night. If it's your first time, they will give you pointers on technique which is super helpful. It's nerve racking at first, but once you get comfortable it gets easier. Give it a try you won't regret it!

This Valentine's Day I took my husband on an axe-ellent adventure! It wasn't long ago when archery was a thing (prior to Hunger Games making it popular) and soon after came the escape rooms (don't think the Walking Dead didn't play into this concept). I think I hit the bullseye this year, literally and figuratively. The price for two people on Valentine's Day was $50. It came with free candy and music of your choice for your one hour session. We were both provided semi shared lanes, where we discovered the pros and cons of four different types of axes. The owners Negar and Faz were welcoming, shared about their business and provided demonstrations for learning. In addition, Faz did a great job teaching my husband an overhead throw with a large axe and Negar taught me an underhanded method with a tactical axe which proved beneficial. Who knew of the many options. In the end, we had some fun, learned a thing or two and we were able to hit the mark almost every time (after a solid warm up). We have the video to prove it! lol This is a great activity for couples, friends, and groups. It's a great work out, way to release energy and have a new experience at the same time. Go, Throw It! #SanDiego #ThrowIt #AxeMarksTheSpot #ValentinesDay2019

So it's Valentine's Day. Red roses? Not very axe-citing. Chocolates with anything other than bacon inside? Axe that. Wine, massage, or weekend axe-cursion? Un-axe-traordinary. Laser Hair Removal? Axe me again next year. My wife, who long ago put these un-axe-ceptable traditions on the chopping block, axe-tually hit the target with this one. Even though I can be a pain in the axe (even a complete axe-hole), she decided to bury the hatchet and take us "axe throwing". She didn't have to axe me twice. How axe-citing and axe-hilarating is this? As the time approached, I became axe-ceedingly impatient. Couldn't wait to cut loose my huge axe-pectations. But you don't want an axe-ident so you go through axe-tensive training to get axe-plained. After all, you aren't yet axe-perts. Axehale and aim. Take a moment to relAXE! If you fail, don't become axe-asperated! Axe-amine why you missed and repeat. Soon enough, it is time for maxe-imum axe-tion. With practice, we became axe-cellent. It would be an axe-cepted fact that we kicked some royal axe. On target without axerting ourselves too axe-tensively. So if you've got an axe to grind and the chops to do so... or need some axe-ceedingly axe-cessive stress relief... come here for some random axe of violence. Throwing axe imparts primal satisf-axetion, is great axe-ercise, and is a way better gift than in-axe-pensive body spray. AXE-ACTLY! Haxetags: #KissMyAxe #BeABadAxe #AxeplosionOn7th

Ali and the staff at throw it are amazing. There are free games to play if you have to wait for your lane. They play music and there are good places to eat everywhere. Walking distance from the ballpark and the best axe throwing in town!

Such an incredibly fun experience! I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. The staff was very friendly and maintained Covid sanitation guidelines so we felt safe. You can also get a 10% discount by checking in on Yelp and showing before paying. We were given a demonstration on how to throw the different axes properly as to prevent injury. My husband managed to throw it landing what's referred to as a "butt stick". Apparently it's rare and difficult so the manager asked to take a photo of him for their site lol. Overall we had a wonderful time and recommend this location for its great staff that made it such an enjoyable experience.

We made an appointment and arrived early when we got there they were really nice and allowed us to bring our ice cream from Jenny splendid ice cream around the corner inside. We were finishing up our ice cream and they started to set us up at our ax throwing station. We really appreciated that they showed us how to throw the ax, gave us good tips, and did everything that they could to set us up for success during our time. It was nice to have some healthy family competition. There were 4 of us and so we took up two of the throwing bays, which was really cool. Each of us had plenty of axe throwing turns and the timeframe allowed for us to really enjoy family bonding with each other. My husband had a really good time and we all had healthy competition as a family group. We will be going back. My advice is that you definitely tip the people who work there because they go out of their way, above and beyond, to make us comfortable and to make sure that we know what we're doing. They keep safety in mind and they're very encouraging for those of us who don't want to throw the axe....LOL Thank you AxeVentures!

Anyway, my friends and I arrived for our reservation. The person who greeted us was friendly. We had to fill out a waiver and then pay before entering. He gave us a quick talk about the concessions, most of which were not available that eventing. He also gave us a bit of direction as to how to throw the ax. He also told us about the house rules. We settled in for a moment. We had all come directly from work, so were a bit hungry and thirsty. We had planned to get dinner nearby after, but wanted a little something at the moment. Unfortunately, we were told they had no pizza that night, so a pretzel was the only option. Also, they had just a few beer options and three mediocre wine options. My friends each had a beer, and I chose a Sauvignon Blanc. The drinks were fine.... nothing special, but we were there for the axes. Surprisingly, the pretzel was pretty good.. Despite the fact that we had been given a 2-minute tutorial about throwing the axes, most of the games they had made no sense to us. We gained a bit of guidance from the group next to us. I also made an effort to ask our staff person some questions. However, I still feel like we had really not clue how the games worked. We were only given one ax for our group of three. It was just one style. I have been axe- throwing before, and they had lots of different possibilities. I remember that I had fun trying the different styles. In my past experience, they also gave us more education about the games we could play together so we didn't feel so lost. They were also more available for consult. I think Axe-Thro is a fine place to go if you want to throw some axes. It is not the best for bar food and dinks, or if you want a little information on the games you are playing.
