I would give this place 4/5 because the location is not in the greatest area of dc, so my GF and I were concerned for our safety and our car because we parked it on the street. Also, it would knock it down another star because when we walked in, it was our first time arriving there. So I went to the front desk and the employee there was very rude and had an attitude. Finally, after I knew where to go, the games are a lot of fun. I prefer football bowling tho that was the most fun compared to the curling. I would also knock it down a star because of my experience ordering food and drinks at the bar. The bartender was very rude. When we ordered food, we were told we could only order food if we have a table, but there were no tables available. Finally, a table opened up, and we told the bartender where we were sitting. We ordered chips and queso and a cheese pizza. We were sitting at our table for more than an hour, and we're not attended to. It does not take more than an hour for a pizza and chips to be prepared and served. It wasn't until I had to get one of the employees to check on our food that it was found out that our food was given to someone else. The bartender seems to be very incompetent. So we had to wait over an hour for our food. The ax-throwing is a lot of fun, and the employee that helped us, Omar, was very knowledgeable and would give good tips on how to throw an ax properly and get it on the board. Not to mention he's talented himself and did a whole show for us with some cool tricks. That was cool. Overall, I would recommend this place; it was a lot of fun, and I would return. read more

Decent assuming because they are fairly new, only the axe throwing trainer seemed experienced. Axe throwing was extremely fun! The bar was weak (I'm a top shelf drinker) the selections weren't there for me. Best drink outside of fruity headache drinks was a jack and coke. They were out of most of the food options so no review on that. I'd go during earlier hours for the throwing not so much for social. read more

I had very high expectations for this place. I came on a Saturday late afternoon. I ordered a drink and after about 20 minutes I follow up with the hostess to ask why I hadn't received my drink yet...because other tables were getting their meals / beverages. She tells me that they're busy and only have ONE bartender for the entire floor. She had already opened my tab and I told her to close it because more time had passed...still no drink. I told her I would be leaving because the wait for one drink was getting ridiculous. She said it wouldn't be an issue and would close out the tab and cancel my order and I would NOT be charged. GREAT right? Or so I thought.... About 2 Weeks later I notice I was still charged for the drink. I physically went there to speak with a manager and informed him of what happened. He told me that the hostess would be in later today, he would verify the story with her, and give me a call back. Still have not received a call and that charge is still pending. My experience at Throw Social was a MAJOR disappointment. I went here with my girlfriends and immediately noticed the whole area is indoors. The ceilings and walls are painted black which gives it a very dark feel. The food is expensive and absolutely horrible. I ordered the jerk wings and they were drenched in a spicy sauce that made my wings soggy and it wasn't even jerk! I returned the wings immediately after one bite Everything here is frozen then baked. Quality is exceptionally low. The staff is not very attentive. OMGEEEEE!!! I cannot say enough about this place. My experience from beginning to end was fabulous. I was sad when it was all over...lol. I decided to host my birthday party at Throw Social, DC and I will never forget it. It started with having a wonderful event manager in Colleen. She is beyond amazing. I shared with Colleen all of my wishes and somehow, she made everything happen for me. I don't know how many times I reached out to her throughout the process and each time she was so welcoming, so kind, so patient. She treated me like a friend. Each individual that I came in contact with was helpful and sweet. The day of my event, when the slide show presentation I wanted to display during my party didn't work, Brent and David (the C.O.O), were there doing everything possible to get it running. I needed a place for an outfit change and David created a space for me so I wouldn't have to change in the bathroom. I requested a floor plan rearrangement minutes before my party started so I could have a larger dance area... David and Brent took care of it immediately. Their house DJ, DJ Rachi, had us on the dance floor the whole time. My guest kept raving about how good he was. He was accommodating of my music requests. Diane, one of the bartenders for the night, was there for my guests with the drinks and she was there for me when I needed little things here and there. I mean, working with this company and this team was a dream. And the venue is to die for.... it's so beautiful. The theme begins from the elevators... once you enter, the experience starts; the lights, the cabanas, the music, the food, everything. Each one of my guests could not get over how beautiful it is. It gave me all the glitz and glam a girl could ask for when she's celebrating her birthday. This team went out of their way to make me feel special. Whether you have a large party or a small group, you will not be disappointed with using this location. We partied hard that night. So my 28th Birthday is on Monday. I booked on Friday, the 19th for a group of 6. I walked in and the front desk staff was so friendly and kind. (Kudos to y'all!!i really enjoyed your energy and friendly demeanor!!) I informed them that my birthday was coming up and they told me to show the bartenders upstairs my ID and that the bartenders would take care of me. So I proceeded to the bar and I told the bartender it was my birthday and I showed them my ID to which the bartender responded "so it's not your birthday, if it's on Monday." She repeated that twice. Which was very embarrassing. So I responded that their policy online said that as long as your birthday was within a week, they would give you a canned drink. I had to actually show the bartenders their own policy online and they just said "oh the managers should tell us what's online" and she made me a drink. Mind you, this was my first time here. I was very excited to come and to be embarrassed by your upstairs bar staff was completely unacceptable. I honestly was humiliated afterwards. I was not only embarrassed but disappointed as well. Overall, I did really enjoy bowling but the staff!!! Ugh! The bartenders, they really started my night off poorly. And it wasn't all of them. It was one particular girl with blonde hair and she was just not helpful at all she was actually the one that embarrassed me. Please do better. Please educate your staff on their own policy. I am not happy, and honestly, my friend were the ones who saved the night. I'm giving one star because I should not have to educate your staff on your own policy. It was embarrassing and unnecessary for me to have to validate what is clearly printed on your own website under promos.
