Omg where to start? Thumbs Up Diner has to be the closest to a home cooked, grandma's kitchen type of breakfast spot. It has such a local, down home feel and Jessica was so sweet. There was so much to choose from but I eventually decided on the pork chop breakfast. The pork chops were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I have to be honest. I wasn't able to finish my food till later because I overindulged with the biscuit. They use real butter and provide a homemade compote that's to live for! Later on in the evening, I ate my second porkchop and potatoes from the to-go container without reheating. In my opinion, that's the ultimate test and they definitely passed it. I look forward to trying more things from their menu-especially since it's so affordable!

Thumbs Up is never a bad idea! I repeat: Thumbs Up Diner is NEVER a bad idea! The food? Delicious. The staff? Delightful. The menu? QR or hard copy. The parking? Sufficient. The ambiance? Neighborhood Diner. The service? Pleasant. I'm a creature of habit so no matter which TU I'm visiting, I order the fish and grits with cheese in the grits, egg whites, and toast. Today was no different. I was served a large, perfectly-seasoned and fried catfish filet. Truly, chef's kiss. The grits were also perfectly seasoned...but the best part is that the cheese was already mixed in. Unlike most breakfast spots where they just pile some cheese on top of the same grits they serve everyone, they didn't make me work to prepare my cheese grits on my own. The egg whites were plentiful and fluffy, although they were unseasoned. This was fine since I was mixing them with my other (again, perfectly-seasoned) food items. The multigrain toast was nothing special but came alive with the butter and house-made blueberry spread at the table. This restaurant has a gravel lot, but also street parking out front.

Casual diner that serves with southern hospitality and large portion sizes. They have a small parking lot but plenty of street parking. Décor is more on the older side but food is delicious. Would recommend adding yourself to the waitlist on weekends about 10 minutes until you reach there so that you don't need to wait as long once you arrive. There isn't any waiting area inside unfortunately (which can be inconvenient when it is cold outside) We got the smoked chicken wings and waffle and the skillet heap. Both very delicious! Would recommend to visitors and locals alike

A friend took me here for breakfast and the food and service were really good! We added our name to the waitlist online so and the table was ready once we got there. I got the smoked wings which was tasty, the waffle was fresh and flavorful, and the sweet potatoes fries were good. Definitely plan to visit again!

Thumbs Up Diner is my go-to for out-of-town guests. I brought my family from Virginia this morning, and they left full and happy. The food is delicious, portions are huge, and prices are fair. We had the fish and grits, seaside breakfast, heap skillet, and everyone got a Lou's coffee (coffee + hot chocolate + whipped cream)--so good. No liquor, but if you're after a solid breakfast, this is it. Join the waitlist before arriving, and make sure your whole party is present. Come hungry!

This is truly a wonderful diner. I only found out about this place because another Elite recommended it and I am glad they did. There is a small parking lot on the side and plenty of street parking. This place is on the older side as far as decor, furniture, everything else but the food tastes amazing. The staff are wonderful. I ordered the Ultimate Seaside Breakfast. 1 gigantic piece of fried catfish, small side of shrimp and grits, sassy scramble (eggs, salmon, veggies), and biscuit with jam. Everything tasted amazing and was filling.

Wow what an incredible diner experience! True-to-character atmosphere with excellent food pairings - be warned, the portion sizes are gigantic! The fried catfish was the star for me - absolutely so tender and crispy at the same time and beautifully seasoned. The French toast was also delicious! Service was very attentive. If you're thinking about coming here, just come.

This morning, I ordered the breakfast burger. It had a double patty with cheese , fried egg and french fries. delicious.!!!! About two weeks ago I ordered a breakfast burger from another place. I won't say the name and it was horrible. I'm so glad I chose Thumbs up diner for my breakfast burger it really is delicious and it came with fries! Five stars today, thank you Thumbs up diner!

Thumbs up gets 2 thumbs up;too bad I only got two thumbs!Attending a conference @ a nearby hotel but really wanted a hearty breakfast/brunch that doesn't cost a fortune. We found this treasure! Dynasty our server was legendary! Friendly & attentive. She noticed the small things like hubby's fork he put on his plate that was cleared nicely. I ordered the "build your own" breakfast & added the large grits because I thought the small wouldn't do it. Thank God for take out containers! The scrambled eggs were perfect, not overcooked just like I asked. The country sausage was savory & not too sagey. Hubby ordered the Low Country Heap skillet. The country potatoes seasoned just enough. The shrimp was not overcooked but tender. Chicken sausage was a good change. The biscuit was a multigrain biscuit;unique but good & fluffy especially with housemade blueberry berry jam! Then, we had to have breakfast dessert! The pancake was large plate size with a vanilla flavor. If I ever make it to Atlanta again, I'll be here for breakfast & maybe even lunch as I hear their smoked wings are epic!

Always a fan of Thumbs Up!! I usually go to the West Midtown location so finally checked out the O4W location. We found parking on a residential street and walked over. There's almost always a wait so we hung out, it took about 45 minutes. Thumbs Up always feels like a classic diner and I love their cozy booths. When we finally got seated, I ordered an orange juice and a Skillet Heap with grilled veggies added. The portions were generous and I loved the grilled veggies and cheese in my skillet! Overall, classic ATL breakfast spot that always hits the spot.

This place was amazing! The food, service, and Vibe! My party of 4 was seated promptly despite the crowded restaurant. Thanks to the amazing host. Our server Calv was so very accommodating and patient with or group! Everything we had was amazing! The portions sizes were large! We had shrimp & grits 10/10. Double dipped French toast 10/10. Southwestern wraps 10/10 large enough to share! Fish and grits. Multigrain biscuit 10/10 seasoned well and crispy 10/10.

Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.
