It was a lot of food & they even helped me take it out to the car! The food was so good, so fresh! The bread was delicious! The chicken was cut into smaller pieces and such a good variety of dark and light meat. 10/10 recommend. Bonus: If you're a business/local organization, they may give you a nice little discount ;)

The seating area looked nice and clean too. The food was good - I got the chicken shish kafta which was soft. Just needed some hummus with it and it was great! And I don't remember what it was called but there's a dish under lunch specials which has chicken and sauce on fries and it was SO good. Probably the best thing we had. However the other chicken dishes were dry - chicken sajji was hard to cut and so so dry even with all the sauce on it. And the chicken shish tawook was hard and dry. It was our first time and I wish our waitress had given us a little more help in what was a popular pick, she just kept saying everything tastes good. Which is fine but if we're genuinely asking, it's because we are actually looking for recommendations! Overall it was good but definitely not getting any grilled chicken because this experience was not great with it.

The food is even better than its predecessor in the same location. In my opinion, it has the best fahsah (even better than another Canton location or their Dearborn twin restaurant). More flavor, more meat, and a tastier crunchier bread to go with it. The other options have more variety than many other places. I like the broiled chicken, the chicken shawarma, shawarma combo... tons of delicious options. I can't stop thinking about the fahsah, though. It's a "stick in your mind forever" kind of dish, especially the way they prepare it here. The appetizers (Kibbee, Ghanouj, Hummus, Spicy Potatoes) were all fantastic. Careful with the veggie grape leaves, though! They tasted like a pile of bitter lemon and were a bit tough to eat - only bad thing I've ever had here. One of the biggest improvements over the restaurant that was here before is the service. Previously, we went and felt ignored as the servers left water cups empty and didn't bring parts of our meal and chatted with their friends - the service was terrible. This new restaurant, with a different menu but with some familiar items, doesn't share the same fate - the team members here are attentive, and friendly, and the place feels cleaner and more well-kept. I highly recommend going to Al-Jannah. Did I mention the fahsah enough times yet? :)

Parking spaces were ample as the neighboring businesses weren't busy at all during this holiday week. The inside was not ornately decorated as some of the fancier places in the area that serve this type of cuisine. Between the booths and tables, my estimate was that the seating capacity was around 50 customers. The menu booklet contained several pages of offerings across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, sides, wraps/subs, traditional dishes, and seafood/chops. For beverages, there were juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. My friends each chose a different type of wrap for their meal. I picked one of the entrees from the traditional dishes which was the Gallaba over Hummus. In my hometown, I don't see gallaba as often as items like shish kabobs and shawarma. My order consisted of a choice of meat (lamb was my pick) sauteed with green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and carrots with special spices added. The mixture was served on a bed of hummus with my choice of rice on the side. A cup of chicken rice soup (instead of lentil) also came with this traditional dish. While we were waiting for our food, a basket of warm pita bread and a cup of garlic spread were provided. The spread was very pungent so I used it sparingly. An extra dinner salad was mistakenly added which I saved for leftovers. The gallaba was essentially a Middle Eastern version of a meat stir fry. The pieces of lamb were tender and not gamey. The spices added flavor but not saltiness. Between the bread, soup, rice, and gallaba, it was a generous portion size that also became leftovers for later. For the quality and price of my meal, I gave a four star rating for our visit to The Sheikh Restaurant.
