I own a two story office building in Pasadena and two weeks ago late in the day the elevator stalled between the first and second floor when it was summoned by the call button. Fortunately there were no occupants . I called Thyssen Krupp service and immediately a very helpful Thyssen Krupp individual answered the phone directly. No maze of voice prompts, a real person! The most helpful, knowledgeable communicator handled the service order and arranged for service early the next morning. I spoke to two individuals regarding the problem and both were so well trained and responsive. The BEST customer service I have encountered in recent times !! Their state code coordinator , Ms. Arellano, Burbank branch is another outstanding representative of TK, efficiently and patiently coordinating the state elevator inspections and necessary compliance adjustments . AKA: TKE Elevator Burbank WARNING: Beware of their service contract. Our property owner is stuck with a service contract and this unresponsive vendor (TKE Elevator Burbank). Funny thing, our elevator was working before TKE showed up for UNSCHEDULED "routine maintenance", left in a hurry with the elevator shut down. Elevator in our apartment building has been down for 4 days now. There are disabled people that need the elevator for safety reasons and TKE Elevator has been unresponsive to repair requests for 3 days. We're on day 4, and finally received an update that parts have been ordered. We're to get an ETA for repair once the parts are received. We have no idea how many more days the elevators will be down. It's very stressful when you've had strokes and it's dangerous to simply get around, and add to that, climbing stairs. TKE needs to improve their customer care practices. UPDATE: we've now been stuck with no elevator for a week. My husband is disabled and now been hurt coming down the stairs. Still no ETA for the ordered part or elevator repair! read more

If I could give negative reviews I would. This is the worst company I've ever come into contact with. It seems they don't want business. You're on endless holds, no one has come out, they never call you back when they say they will. The technicians they use bill you for overtime when they haven't fixed the issues. We spent 10000s with them. And this is by far the worst customer service ever. If you want something not fixed- call them. read more

We are a new property that opened in August of last year (2018). We have 2 separate buildings, and each has 1 elevator located in it. The elevator located in our Building (B) has been down 6 times since January. It went down January 18th and they came out and got it working. Then it went down the very next day the 19th (Saturday). They did not come out to fix it until Wednesday the 23rd. The elevator was down again on February 5th, then February 26th. Then again, on March 3rd, April 25th, and now has been down since Friday the 3rd of this month (May). We have had two incidents where the tech comes out on a Friday and says they will have to come back on Monday. By Monday afternoon (including today) we call the service line and they have no record of an open ticket. Our elevator is still under warranty and even though this is obviously a reoccurring issue that has still not been fixed, Thyssenkrupp has charged our property nearly $4,000 of overtime charges. We also, had our account rep (Amy Russo) come out about 2 months ago and promise to get everything resolved. We emailed her regarding some issues a couple of weeks after she was here, and she didn't respond until a month later. We called her today at noon and it is now 4:00pm and she still hasn't followed up with us. That is completely unprofessional. Wayne Elkins called us around 3pm this afternoon and said they would try to have someone here mid-morning tomorrow. We expressed to him that we do not want the same tech that has previously been here coming to our property anymore. He is never able to get to the root of the issue and fix the elevator. Last time he was here he told us it was normal for the elevator to bounce when it gets closer to the higher floors. That is a completely unacceptable answer. We need to get this elevator taken care of immediately and feel strongly that we should be reimbursed for these excessive fees when we are still under warranty and continue to have the same issue reoccurring for nearly 5 months now. **We would not recommend this company to our BEST competitor or our WORST enemy!! read more

This company is HORRIBLE to deal with. They charge a ridiculous amount to do anything for you with regards to maintaining or fixing their elevators. They want over $20,000 just to replace the panels with new laminated interior panels. Choose a different company! read more

We spent money for a new Hydro electric motor and service contract. Very bad for a NEW unit for this much noise is thievery especially when the main issue with the old was too much noise. They are rude nasty and do not care when they take your money. read more

It is rated ZERO if there is one. We specified that it was not an emergency when we asked for their service. The repairman came for less than 1/2 hour and charged 1&1/2 hours. When we called/wrote and complained they answered because of the travel time. We bought Gold maintenance for nothing. DO NOT SIGN CONTRACT with Thyssenkrupp Elevator. They are actually worse than before they reorganized their maintenance dept. Unfortunately, we have to wait till 2019 to cancel as the contract is for 3 years. read more

So....this is how ThyssenKrupp deals with former customers during a crisis. We canceled our service with them at the end of 2018, because the only time they would come out would be when we had a problem. We had a maintenance contract with them mind you. So we canceled service with the local Los Angeles office. We continued to receive invoices and I called their national line, because the LA office was unresponsive including LA Mgr Tom McKittrick. National passes us off to Matthew Reece. We have a conversation and I tell him that I have canceled service. He says that there is no record of that with the LA office. I say to him, then just ask McKittrick for dispatch manifests for maintenance service runs to our location since my cancel order and while you're at it check how many times the LA office actually performed mandated maintenance. No response. So we went with another elevator company, went through a elevator refresh with them because maintenance hadn't been performed on a regular basis with ThyssenKrupp. All the while, ThyssenKrupp kept billing us. So this morning (nearly a year and a half after I canceled service with ThyssenKrupp), I was called by Matthew Reece from the Stockton office of Thyssen Krupp, saying there were canceling service with us for non-payment of our past due invoices. Needless to say, I blew up at Matthew. To think, this is how ThyssenKrupp is either so entirely inept that they can neither provide dispatch records to prove they did maintenance (we have service cameras that prove they never came), nor do they acknowledge the giant email thread I have given the LA office asking them why they don't show up to perform scheduled maintenance prior to us cancelling service, nor do they get the drift that we haven't had service, but keep getting billed for it. If they had come out, they would have seen, that we no longer have TK equipment in our elevator, because it was refreshed by Ascent/Specialized Elevator (a far more honest company). So, in the middle of a crisis, where we have bigger things to do (like keeping our staff employed), ThyssenKrupp goes thug and tries to tell me that they will no longer provide us service (service BTW, that we haven't had from them since the July 2018). Do yourself a favor.....stay the hell away from ThyssenKrupp. read more

The elevator in our apartment complex is broken & the guy they sent to fix it has been on the phone outside our apartment on a private phone call for 25 minutes talking loudly. He also was extremely rude as my wife & I tried to squeeze past him. This was the rudest repairman they have ever sent but he is hardly the 1st repairman they sent that was rude & unprofessional. read more

ThyssenKrupp Elevator recently did an upgrade/moderization to our 2 elevators. After spending $125K for the work that they originally bid $96K for, neither elevator works properly. We have had people stuck in the cars at all hours of the day and night and when we call to have someone come and get the people out we get charged $1,000 if it happens after 5PM. It has been 4 weeks since the modernization was completed and they still have not solved our issues. They will not even tell us if they know what is wrong and how they intend to fix what is wrong. Their product sucks and so does their customer service. I would not recommend them to any one. read more
