Med Equip was one of the companies my Hospice company worked with. I always knew them to provide excellent products and service. Recently, I needed medical equipment for my husband during a very difficult and emotional time. Med Equip was wonderful. Their pricing was fair, and they were calm, kind, efficient, and genuinely helpful. What impressed me most was the human side of their service. They understand that when someone is calling for medical equipment, there is usually a loved one who is ill and a family going through a difficult time. They were great. They cut it down while I waited. Fast forward to now--when I was being discharged I chose HH for the durable supplies. When they delivered them I told the man that the tone of the place had changed and how the service had gone down. Giving them the order was (and I told them so) a way to give them a second chance. Two days ago the hand controller for my lift chair failed. I was stuck in a lying back position. I was frightened and called them. They told me they were not the kind of business that just dropped everything to come out. They were willing to come the next day to evaluate my chairs problem. Sure enough, it was the controller and Dave, the technician, told me it would be $110 for a new one. I asked if they had a loner. No! Could they sell me a controller from a floor model? No! The prepared invoice said Service Call $25, Fuel Cost $10. The store is about 2 miles away! Needless to say I am not buying the controller from them. When you are handicapped you expect more of a caring attitude or vibe.

I see how they are considered a predatory company. It should never be this hard to cancel a service. Now we have to either decide to take a hit on our credit, or keep and let them collect over $3000. I wish I had did more research on this! Also, has anyone else broke out in a rash from the necklace/ device ? Beware of this company. I do agree it is good for what its intended for, however our elders should never be obligated to a contact as such!

PREDATORY AND DIDN'T SEND HELP IN AN EMERGENCY -- My 87 year old mother pressed the Life Alert…read morebutton but was unresponsive. The company called me and did nothing when they couldn't reach me. I called them back when I saw the call and they asked if I wanted them to send a welfare check for her. I said yes. I raced to her and arrived a half hour later. A welfare check had not been done. I called the company and they said they didn't send a welfare check. We have been trying to cancel this service. The very rude staff have no kindness and refuse to cancel the service. They trick elderly people with a hidden, 3 year contract. We had her insurance company send a letter and they rejected the letter. They are predatory, incompetent and harm elderly people. Jackie from the accounts department is particularly rude and has no sense of decency or customer service. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS PREDATORY SERVICE. They will refuse to cancel even when they do not bother to send any help.
