They have a breakfast and sandwich menu with traditional Midwest favorites. The owner is known for his fabulous biscuits which are served plain, fried with apple butter or biscuits and gravy. We each had Diana's Breakfast Special which came with a whopping bowl of fresh fruit, 2 eggs, toast and choice of sausage or bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was crisp and delicious. The dining room is sparkling clean with cute decor. They even have a little counter seating. The unisex bathroom is clean as well. There is parking across the street and an accessible ramp to get into the restaurant. On Sundays, they have a fun little competition for the hearty guests. If you can eat seven plates of biscuits and gravy ($15) you win a free meal and your photo on the wall. As of today, there are only 2 photos on the wall. I left without a piece of that gorgeous coconut pie. But I'll be back. This little diner is well worth the drive to Shelbyville. I'm told it gets crowded during peak hours, so get there early. The place is loud but with a great positive energy. People are small-town friendly and talk between tables as they enjoy their biscuits and gravy. We cajoled with two regulars who told funny stories. Our server, Gill, was quick to the table and friendly. He checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The menu is a mix of traditional breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Prices are reasonable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered their hand breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was massive with a great browned breading, served on a Kaiser roll. The pork was tender and juicy. It was a perfect tenderloin, worthy of the Indiana Tenderloin Trail. The hand-cut fries are lightly breaded, crispy and hot. There was an up-charge for the fries, but they were so good and worth it. It was rainy outside, so I had a bowl of the daily soup - broccoli cheddar. I decided to have a pork tenderloin sandwich with fries and coleslaw and my guest decided to get the sloppy Joe's special with fries. On a 10 scale, the coleslaw was a seven, the tenderloin sandwich was a nine, and the fries were an eight. The sloppy joe was a six. I think the reason why the sloppy Joe didn't rank higher is because it was just dry loose seasoned hamburger meat. It didn't have any sauce in it whatsoever to hold it together. It was more like a loose meat sandwich or a taco burger. Those sandwiches are generally drier and crumbly in texture.
