This is my usual spot for a pedicure, love their work when it comes to a pedicure. No complaints on the pedicure work. My issues are with how polish is done on gel-x. I've had gel x done here twice the first time was decent, but I felt that their usage of layers were every minimal like 1 layer. Like I can clearly see my nail underneath. Got Cateye last time and they only put 1 layer before the magnet so it was so transparent and I didn't like that. This time is the same issue. I went in wanting marble white french tips and the application of the gel x was great but after was where it went wrong. She (Celine) started putting on A SINGLE LAYER of base coat and asked if i liked the color and I did, thinking she was going to put more but NOPE. She did a single layer of pink that was so transparent it might as well not have been put on. I was like ok maybe it will turn out ok once the french tip is applied but no same issue happened AGAIN. I saw how she was applying the pearl french was being done and i asked for more layer and it to be more white so it can contrast better and the swirls to be done but she just finished a 2nd layer but on top coat and sent me on my way. I spent $75 + tip just to leave disappointed and unsatisfied with how my nails turned out. If you are looking for a cute cateye or lighter color work on your nails i would suggest somewhere else. RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT: Thank you for your response & taking the time reply. I also wanted to clarify that the choice of cateye or the pearl french was given to me and i did chose the french. However, after choosing the french I wasn't asked if the color was ok. She did put the top coat on the rest of the nails before doing my thumbs and when finished applying the french to my thumb then i was able to express me wanting more layers and it being more white. Therefore she had to buff off the top coat and reapply. After that, reiterating that the nails didn't turn out the way i liked, felt like an inconvenience. Which is on me where I should voice out my opinion. Thank you for letting me know about the service policy. I will be reaching out soon!
Great service. I treated my sister and myself to their signature pedicure and booked it online. It was very relaxing. Me and my sister got to sit next to each other which was great. I hate when nail salons overbook and you can't sit with your friend because it's so crowded. I will be back. Only downside is they wanted me to pay with cash even though it states online that they accept card. So I had to use the ATM to pull cash which my bank charged me for. And then I asked for change to leave a tip and they couldn't open the register again I guess because the person at the register ran around trying to find change for me. I'll just be more prepared next time!
Do yourself a favor and get the spa pedicure! It was so glorious. I also got the hard gel mani by Lan and she really did a great job. Glad my friend recommended this spot. Loved the classy piano music and clean decor of the place. They are quite busy so definitely call in for an appointment. Well worth it.
Been here a handful of times and I really like the quality of their gel polish, however I asked for a combo of 2 colors and they looked at me confused but was able to do what I asked in the end but I felt like if I asked for something different I'd have a difficult time getting what I wanted. Gel polish usually lasts about 3 full weeks here which is actually pretty amazing, when the gel comes off it doesn't seem to ruin my nails which is also amazing, because of the length of time I've had the gel on and how my nails are after, I give this place 5 stars.
Today was my first time here, and I was impressed!! It was my first time getting a mani/pedi, and Chloe and another girl took real good care of me. Booked an appointment online, regular mani, gel pedi. Chloe worked with me to get the right shade of burgundy to match my dress. It came out so nice and clean. They were both very patient and kind, and I'll definitely come back again.
Today was my first time trying this specific nail shop, and they did not disappoint. I came here on my lunch, and I let them know that I did not have an appointment and I was kind of in a hurry. The young man at the register was very accommodating, sat me down, not even within five minutes and then Chloe started working on my nails. I'm not sure if that's how you spell her name BUT she was AWESOME!! I picked the color for my Gel X set and then I asked her if she could do a white tip . She was very nice. I did let her know I was on my lunch break and even though I was on crunched time, she did a very good job! I'm very picky with Nails I should add lol So if you're in the area I highly suggest going but just know it's a bit pricey I believe with tip I paid about $100 but that was for a gel x removal, new set, design, and tip. I did not get a pedicure, but usually when I do my nails and a pedicure, I walk out the door paying 120 with tip at my usual spot in Whittier called Annie's. But overall excellent, high quality work, and I'm very happy with my nails! Thank you!
I was hesitant to make this post because I did enjoy my service but I just don't appreciate the non transparency on pricing especially when you ask and call before hand. Only typing this review because I also feel unsatisfied with how my nails held up a day after I got them especially for the price. I know that designs very in price but I ALWAYS ask what is your full price when I show inspiration photos so I stay within a budget I set for myself. I called before showing up so I could verify the price before even heading in. I was told to go in and they would be able to give me a better estimate of the services I wanted. So I went over to check out the salon and again asked what price they had for a French tip gel pedicure and a few photos of different nail designs for my hands. The pedicure I was told 56 dollars and was told about the 5 up charge to remove my old polish. Okay fair, when it came to my nails I showed a few photos some designs more simple than others and was told different prices. There was one design I liked that was 110 dollars and told the nail tech hmm no it's okay it's a bit out of my budget today and then showed her another design that was a bit more simple and was told much less. So I found my happy medium price and agreed. I enjoyed my service and when it came time to pay I was told my nails were 110 dollars. I was so confused because the nail tech saw my hesitation to do the original design because of the price and was charged the same anyway for the simpler design. I asked the front desk again for the prices and they just get awkward and make you feel bad for questioning there pricing. The problem here is I just feel like you should give your clients the full breakdown of the service you are providing. It's not just this salon but many are similar just constantly beating around the brush about pricing then surprising the clients with the bill after. Apart from that happening in the salon I left at least happy with how my nails came out and tried to see the brighter side. But literally after a day of getting my nails done they began to chip!!! So now I feel like I overpaid for my nails and they look ugly. I just want to warn future clients don't agree to the service unless you know exactly what you are paying for. I just ended up with a surprise bill and ugly chipped nails for Christmas.

This is my go to nail shop when visiting MPK area. The shop is clean, nail techs always do a great job when I want modern designs done. With valentines coming up, Tracy did an amazing job! Visit her on Mondays she's in. She will take good care of you!

I came in during my lunch break expecting I might have to reschedule because I needed a new hard gel set with French tips plus a regular pedicure, and I only had about an hour. I let the gentleman at the front know, and after checking with the technicians, he reassured me they could still take me in. Sam did my manicure and absolutely outdid herself. I've had experiences at other salons where being on a time crunch affects the quality of the work, but that wasn't the case with her at all. She was attentive, detail-oriented, and somehow got everything looking so good without making the service feel rushed. I didn't catch the name of the technician who did my pedicure, but she did a good job as well. Everyone worked together to accommodate me, which I really appreciated. I'm already a regular here because of their great color selection, solid pricing, and amazing staff, but Sam especially deserves the recognition for this set. I almost want to gatekeep this place, but they deserve all the roses. Definitely one of my go-to nail spots! read more

I am thankful for the ambiance, the service, cleanliness, and quality of work. This salon had relaxing instrumental music playing, comfy massaging chairs, sanitized equipment which I personally saw them cleaning, and they were so welcoming. We especially appreciated the young mans kind demeanor at the register. My daughter and I just got their basic spa pedi at $25, and they did a nice job. Great way to end my busy Monday! read more

First time trying out this place and glad I did because the nail tech here got down. She achieved what I wanted and for sure dominated the cat eye design. I didn't quite catch her name but when she used her UV lamp it said "Laura" I'm assuming that is her name. Everyone is pleasant and sweet. Also by all the other reviews seems like the other techs do a good job. I will definitely be coming back. She buff, filed and shaped my nails to the extreme which is what I love. Did a quick appointment on Yelp and came in on a Monday afternoon. 3:15 pm right before a rush of walk-in clients. I did the basic gel nails for $38. Did my nails with Jade/jay?! Either way I liked it. She cleaned my cuticles and gave a lotion massage afterwards. Fast and lasting into the week. Loved that it's new and clean. Didn't have a strong nail salon smell. One suggestion would be to have a TV with Netflix movies running instead of Vietnamese music. Provides a better customer experience I will be back! read more

I've been coming here for maybe a year or two and it's been my go-to spot. Very friendly staff and clean! I have been here different hours of the day for appointments depending on my schedule - with that I will say come early. I've booked latest 5:30-6 pm and I feel like the quality gets choppy since some are trying to not end the day so late... totally understandable but still you can tell. About 5 days after getting dip gel my natural nail broke and the entire dip fell off. Never happened before but this last job was done so quick. I went in the next day to get fixed. The gentleman at front desk drove all the way to the other location to bring the same color . Didn't charge to get fixed. The nail tech added a tip and fixed it so well. From the owners to receptionist and nail technicians, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. My nails are so pretty. They did it exactly like the photo I showed. LOVE Tick-Tick Time Nails & Spa! This is my 2nd visit. High quality service through and through! Everyone is friendly and professional. I love that people don't talk loud and soothing music playing in the background. It's a relaxing environment. Chloe is my girl for mani! She is detailed and caring. Thank God she was available today! Heidi did my pedi the first time and Nick did my 2nd pedi. Both were excellent! Service between visits was one month. I had gel mani and traditional pedi on both visits. The polish for both areas stayed on without any chips and my feet were in water everyday while on vacation. This is how I judge if the service was good quality! The only reason for the mani and pedi was my nails grew out too much and started looking sloppy. Sorry no feet pics because I don't like my feet. You'll just have to take my word for it! This place has endless customers, which I'm not surprised with their high quality work. Appointments are highly recommended. Thank you Tick-Tick Time for making me fancy again!! read more

Upon entering, I asked the price for a hard gel manicure and was quoted $45 and up depending on the length. The nail tech, Lan, removed the hard gel polish from the previous manicure and filed the nails and was getting ready to polish my nails. I stopped her and told her you're skipping removing my cuticles. She asked, "Oh, you want them removed?" To which I replied, "Yes, of course, that's part of the manicure." She gave me a look and began speaking in Thai to the guy at the front desk. As you can see, my nails remained short, they look like a normal hard gel manicure, no design nor special requests. When I got to the counter the guy charged $70! I reminded him what I asked for, what he quoted me, and what I got. He went on to tell me that gel polish is an extra price of $15 and is not included in a hard gel manicure, although that is on the name of the services and is always included in every place. He went on to tell me that the removal of cuticles, meaning a basic manicure is not included in a hard gel manicure and that is an extra $5. Additionally, he changed an extra $5 for the polish remover from my old manicure. This brining my new total to $70 (see receipt attached). Again, I tried reasoning with the guy at the counter and reminded him of what I asked for, what I was quoted, and the services I received expecting he would realize that he had made an error. He instead said the price is correct-and repeated that the balance is $70. I told him, that I would pay for the services because the services were done, however feel that they purposely and in bad faith quote you a price and then raise it by almost double by charging a-la- cart for services, that every other nail shop always includes as part of the their basic services. Every other places charged $40-$45 for the services, which included all basic services mentioned above and that was excepting. Everyone who has gotten a manicure knows what is included in basic services and it was not a misunderstanding. Shame on them. Be weary of this shady place. read more

I had such a great experience for my first time. 1. the place is so clean 2. staff is super friendly 3. they took their time when they did my gel manicure and pedicure. 4. huge color selection 5. everything was well organized They gave me a discount for having to come back the next day which was super sweet and they don't have to do that. But it was very appreciated. Overall my experience was great! I definitely will be returning, because I have been looking for nail place for so long. Also not to mention, they're color selection is sooo massive, from powders, gels, nail lacquer etc. Most importantly, I love the way my gel manicure came out! She was so gentle and took her time. TL;DR - come here if you want to pay to have the owner argue with you. (: Also, they don't clean your nails for gel x manicures. HARDPASS. Go somewhere else!!! Updated to 1 star, lmao. It started getting busier after 6. I haven't gotten my nails done since last December and the last place I went to asked us to wash our hands before they got started - I was a little surprised this place didn't ask us to wash our hands before they started on our nails. Shrug, for whatever it's worth, I've been to another nail spot since tick tick time and they didn't ask me to wash my hands prior either. Anyway... I brought my bf's mom with me to get her nails done for her birthday. Her tech's name is Jade. She had to get her gel x removed and they were a little rough with her, although I should add that she tends to be more sensitive. She got a powder pink color for her new gel x set, clear glitter gel on her ring fingers. I thought her nails came out really nice and she really liked it. I rarely ever get gel x but thought, why not treat myself and do something different? I showed my nail tech (Lan) an inspo pic and she started working on my nails. So why the 2 star rating? Reason #1: when Lan started working on my nails she barely cleaned my cuticles and then started sizing my nails with the gel x. I asked her if she was going to clean up my nails, like file them down or anything and she insisted that she was doing me a favor - keeping them as they are so that I can grow my natural nails... k. She didn't even clean them. Mind you my nails were a little uneven and I regret not standing my ground. Looking back at my nails, I literally paid $78 dollars for just the gel x, not a gel x manicure. My cuticles were barely touched and my nails weren't cleaned. I don't get my nails done regularly but I've gotten them enough times to know this was ridiculous. Reason #2: the amount of glue between my natural nail and the gel x was so inconsistent and uneven. There was literally a half cm of glue under my right index finger but by the time I noticed it, I just wanted to get the heck out of this place. See reason #3. Reason #3: Lan had put all my gel x on and was starting to add design to my thumb. Out of no where she got up and (let's call her H - message me if you want her name) H replaced her. H tried to pick up where Lan left off but she wasn't getting that I wanted the colors to have more of a curve/fluid design and for it to not look like a French tip with one side elongated. (She did the light blue nails if you wanted to see what i mean.) She kept arguing with me saying that the there was no way I can get what I want because the inspo pic had almond shaped nails and mine were squares. I'm sorry, NOT sorry but WHAT?! I didn't want to continue arguing since I was with my boyfriends mom so I just stared at Lan and kept looking back at her and my nails. H was obviously annoyed and asked if I wanted Lan back - I said yes. H got up, started going off in Vietnamese and avoided eye contact the rest of the time. I swear if I wasn't with my boyfriends mom I would've just walked out of there. Why the hell am I paying to have her give me attitude and argue with me?? Ew. Lan came back to finish my nails and as she continued doing my nails, she asked me if she could add some more flair - additional lines, to the design. I actually really liked her creativity and liked the last few nails (green and purple colors) she designed over the first 3. Reason #4: half way through our nails getting done, one of the nail techs asked us if we were related and so my boyfriends mom shared how we knew each other. Now mind you, my boyfriends mom is clearly not Asian but they proceeded to ask if we were both Chinese. This left my boyfriends mom soooooo confused, LOLOLOL it's funny to think back on now, how absurd of a question it was! They then asked if i was Chinese or Vietnamese, I thought about it after we left and realized they were probably trying to find out if I was Vietnamese and if I could understand them. I so wish I spoke/understood Vietnamese just so I could understand what they're saying about everyone. I wish they didn't switch on me, maybe my rating would be higher but regardless of that, I still don't feel like I got an actual manicure here, LOL. If you're looking to get your nails done, I'd look for a different spot. I didn't appreciate their service. I'd recommend taking your hard earned money and going somewhere else. read more

I've been looking for a new salon for a while now and I think I found my new one. This place is very welcoming and seemed busy/popular when I came in. I booked an appointment for two signature pedicures and one deluxe manicure. They took me and my mom quickly and got started fast. The pedicure massage felt amazing along with the hand one as well. I also asked for a flower on my manicure and she delivered with a great simple design. We also found out that they do waxing as well! Went ahead and got my eyebrows and lip waxed. Found my new salon and will definitely be coming back. read more

I had came here a couple weeks ago and they were so busy and couldn't help me as a walk-in, so make an appointment! Since I'm new to the area I needed to try their services and had to try again, so I came by again today before they got busy and I was so happy they were able to take me!! I've been having a hard time finding my go to nail place ever since I moved to Monterey Park. The ones I've tried down by South Atlantic Blvd (it's like a cluster of nail salons), it always felt like a factory and often I get ignored even if I have an appointment. Anyways it was refreshing to walk in to a place and be greeted and though I didn't have an appointment, I was serviced within 10 minutes. First impression: the place looked new, fresh, modern and clean. Wendy was the one who serviced my gel manicure. She was very meticulous and made sure I was happy with my nail shape before she moved on to the other steps. She checked my nails from several angles to make sure. The tools used were all sealed. They were able to accommodate and allow me to do a mix of 2 colors. I was very happy with the service and how my nails turned out. In addition, they allow credit cards and they Don't add on any extra fees. Before I left they had me signed on to their loyalty program. There's two: one where you log in your phone number and the other one is on back of their business card and you get a stamp for each visit and then earn your $10 off after your 9th visit.
