Cost of Mani Pedi? and immediately she replied and answered all my questions. I was impressed with her communication and made an appointment. Other providers did not answer all my questions and just asked if i had an appointment. Often many salons say they have OPI and to find they may only have 5-10 colors. Tick Tick had ALL the OPI colors on hand! I usually bring my own in case they only have few. Many salons use their generic polishes which is not as high quality. Tick Tick even uses top quality nail base by Orly which is what i personally use. I shared my experience with my husband and he too went for a mani pedi and very pleased. I hate when nail salons overbook and you can't sit with your friend because it's so crowded. I will be back. Only downside is they wanted me to pay with cash even though it states online that they accept card. So I had to use the ATM to pull cash which my bank charged me for. And then I asked for change to leave a tip and they couldn't open the register again I guess because the person at the register ran around trying to find change for me. This is my usual spot for a pedicure, love their work when it comes to a pedicure. No complaints on the pedicure work. My issues are with how polish is done on gel-x. I've had gel x done here twice the first time was decent, but I felt that their usage of layers were every minimal like 1 layer. Like I can clearly see my nail underneath. Got Cateye last time and they only put 1 layer before the magnet so it was so transparent and I didn't like that. This time is the same issue. I went in wanting marble white french tips and the application of the gel x was great but after was where it went wrong. She (Celine) started putting on A SINGLE LAYER of base coat and asked if i liked the color and I did, thinking she was going to put more but NOPE. She did a single layer of pink that was so transparent it might as well not have been put on. I was like ok maybe it will turn out ok once the french tip is applied but no same issue happened AGAIN. I saw how she was applying the pearl french was being done and i asked for more layer and it to be more white so it can contrast better and the swirls to be done but she just finished a 2nd layer but on top coat and sent me on my way. I spent $75 + tip just to leave disappointed and unsatisfied with how my nails turned out. If you are looking for a cute cateye or lighter color work on your nails i would suggest somewhere else. RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT: Thank you for your response & taking the time reply. I also wanted to clarify that the choice of cateye or the pearl french was given to me and i did chose the french. However, after choosing the french I wasn't asked if the color was ok. She did put the top coat on the rest of the nails before doing my thumbs and when finished applying the french to my thumb then i was able to express me wanting more layers and it being more white. Therefore she had to buff off the top coat and reapply. After that, reiterating that the nails didn't turn out the way i liked, felt like an inconvenience. Been here a handful of times and I really like the quality of their gel polish, however I asked for a combo of 2 colors and they looked at me confused but was able to do what I asked in the end but I felt like if I asked for something different I'd have a difficult time getting what I wanted. Today was my first time trying this specific nail shop, and they did not disappoint. I came here on my lunch, and I let them know that I did not have an appointment and I was kind of in a hurry. The young man at the register was very accommodating, sat me down, not even within five minutes and then Chloe started working on my nails. I'm not sure if that's how you spell her name BUT she was AWESOME!! I picked the color for my Gel X set and then I asked her if she could do a white tip . She was very nice. I did let her know I was on my lunch break and even though I was on crunched time, she did a very good job! I'm very picky with Nails I should add lol So if you're in the area I highly suggest going but just know it's a bit pricey I believe with tip I paid about $100 but that was for a gel x removal, new set, design, and tip. I was hesitant to make this post because I did enjoy my service but I just don't appreciate the non transparency on pricing especially when you ask and call before hand. Only typing this review because I also feel unsatisfied with how my nails held up a day after I got them especially for the price. I know that designs very in price but I ALWAYS ask what is your full price when I show inspiration photos so I stay within a budget I set for myself. I called before showing up so I could verify the price before even heading in. I was told to go in and they would be able to give me a better estimate of the services I wanted. So I went over to check out the salon and again asked what price they had for a French tip gel pedicure and a few photos of different nail designs for my hands. The pedicure I was told 56 dollars and was told about the 5 up charge to remove my old polish. Okay fair, when it came to my nails I showed a few photos some designs more simple than others and was told different prices. There was one design I liked that was 110 dollars and told the nail tech hmm no it's okay it's a bit out of my budget today and then showed her another design that was a bit more simple and was told much less. So I found my happy medium price and agreed. I enjoyed my service and when it came time to pay I was told my nails were 110 dollars. I was so confused because the nail tech saw my hesitation to do the original design because of the price and was charged the same anyway for the simpler design. I asked the front desk again for the prices and they just get awkward and make you feel bad for questioning there pricing. The problem here is I just feel like you should give your clients the full breakdown of the service you are providing. It's not just this salon but many are similar just constantly beating around the brush about pricing then surprising the clients with the bill after. Apart from that happening in the salon I left at least happy with how my nails came out and tried to see the brighter side. But literally after a day of getting my nails done they began to chip!!! So now I feel like I overpaid for my nails and they look ugly. I just want to warn future clients don't agree to the service unless you know exactly what you are paying for. Either way I liked it. She cleaned my cuticles and gave a lotion massage afterwards. Fast and lasting into the week. Loved that it's new and clean. Didn't have a strong nail salon smell. My best friend came to visit me and what better way to spend a girls trip by going to get manicures! The overall service was nice. However, we were both very disappointed that our manicures did not last 24 hours! They chipped within the next day. I have got regular polish at other salons and they last me weeks, but regular polish here didn't even last me 24 hours! Upon entering, I asked the price for a hard gel manicure and was quoted $45 and up depending on the length. The nail tech, Lan, removed the hard gel polish from the previous manicure and filed the nails and was getting ready to polish my nails. I stopped her and told her you're skipping removing my cuticles. She asked, "Oh, you want them removed?" To which I replied, "Yes, of course, that's part of the manicure." She gave me a look and began speaking in Thai to the guy at the front desk. As you can see, my nails remained short, they look like a normal hard gel manicure, no design nor special requests. When I got to the counter the guy charged $70! I reminded him what I asked for, what he quoted me, and what I got. He went on to tell me that gel polish is an extra price of $15 and is not included in a hard gel manicure, although that is on the name of the services and is always included in every place. He went on to tell me that the removal of cuticles, meaning a basic manicure is not included in a hard gel manicure and that is an extra $5. Additionally, he changed an extra $5 for the polish remover from my old manicure. This brining my new total to $70 (see receipt attached). Again, I tried reasoning with the guy at the counter and reminded him of what I asked for, what I was quoted, and the services I received expecting he would realize that he had made an error. He instead said the price is correct-and repeated that the balance is $70. I told him, that I would pay for the services because the services were done, however feel that they purposely and in bad faith quote you a price and then raise it by almost double by charging a-la- cart for services, that every other nail shop always includes as part of the their basic services. Every other places charged $40-$45 for the services, which included all basic services mentioned above and that was excepting. Everyone who has gotten a manicure knows what is included in basic services and it was not a misunderstanding. Shame on them. Be weary of this shady place. read more

I've been looking for a new salon for a while now and I think I found my new one. This place is very welcoming and seemed busy/popular when I came in. I booked an appointment for two signature pedicures and one deluxe manicure. They took me and my mom quickly and got started fast. The pedicure massage felt amazing along with the hand one as well. I brought my bf's mom with me to get her nails done for her birthday. Her tech's name is Jade. She had to get her gel x removed and they were a little rough with her, although I should add that she tends to be more sensitive. She got a powder pink color for her new gel x set, clear glitter gel on her ring fingers. I thought her nails came out really nice and she really liked it. I rarely ever get gel x but thought, why not treat myself and do something different? I showed my nail tech (Lan) an inspo pic and she started working on my nails. So why the 2 star rating? Reason #1: when Lan started working on my nails she barely cleaned my cuticles and then started sizing my nails with the gel x. I asked her if she was going to clean up my nails, like file them down or anything and she insisted that she was doing me a favor - keeping them as they are so that I can grow my natural nails... k. She didn't even clean them. Mind you my nails were a little uneven and I regret not standing my ground. Looking back at my nails, I literally paid $78 dollars for just the gel x, not a gel x manicure. My cuticles were barely touched and my nails weren't cleaned. I don't get my nails done regularly but I've gotten them enough times to know this was ridiculous. Reason #2: the amount of glue between my natural nail and the gel x was so inconsistent and uneven. There was literally a half cm of glue under my right index finger but by the time I noticed it, I just wanted to get the heck out of this place. See reason #3. Reason #3: Lan had put all my gel x on and was starting to add design to my thumb. Out of no where she got up and (let's call her H - message me if you want her name) H replaced her. H tried to pick up where Lan left off but she wasn't getting that I wanted the colors to have more of a curve/fluid design and for it to not look like a French tip with one side elongated. (She did the light blue nails if you wanted to see what i mean.) She kept arguing with me saying that the there was no way I can get what I want because the inspo pic had almond shaped nails and mine were squares. I'm sorry, NOT sorry but WHAT?! I didn't want to continue arguing since I was with my boyfriends mom so I just stared at Lan and kept looking back at her and my nails. H was obviously annoyed and asked if I wanted Lan back - I said yes. H got up, started going off in Vietnamese and avoided eye contact the rest of the time. I swear if I wasn't with my boyfriends mom I would've just walked out of there. Why the hell am I paying to have her give me attitude and argue with me?? Ew. Lan came back to finish my nails and as she continued doing my nails, she asked me if she could add some more flair - additional lines, to the design. I actually really liked her creativity and liked the last few nails (green and purple colors) she designed over the first 3. Reason #4: half way through our nails getting done, one of the nail techs asked us if we were related and so my boyfriends mom shared how we knew each other. Now mind you, my boyfriends mom is clearly not Asian but they proceeded to ask if we were both Chinese. This left my boyfriends mom soooooo confused, LOLOLOL it's funny to think back on now, how absurd of a question it was! They then asked if i was Chinese or Vietnamese, I thought about it after we left and realized they were probably trying to find out if I was Vietnamese and if I could understand them. I so wish I spoke/understood Vietnamese just so I could understand what they're saying about everyone. I wish they didn't switch on me, maybe my rating would be higher but regardless of that, I still don't feel like I got an actual manicure here, LOL. If you're looking to get your nails done, I'd look for a different spot. I didn't appreciate their service. I'd recommend taking your hard earned money and going somewhere else. read more

I've been having a hard time finding my go to nail place ever since I moved to Monterey Park. The ones I've tried down by South Atlantic Blvd (it's like a cluster of nail salons), it always felt like a factory and often I get ignored even if I have an appointment. They were able to accommodate and allow me to do a mix of 2 colors. I was very happy with the service and how my nails turned out. In addition, they allow credit cards and they Don't add on any extra fees. Before I left they had me signed on to their loyalty program. There's two: one where you log in your phone number and the other one is on back of their business card and you get a stamp for each visit and then earn your $10 off after your 9th visit.
