Finally came in for a mani/pedi, it's been 9mo since my last one. I got Japanese gel for mani and basic pedi with callus removal. I came here for a gel removal many months ago, and Nana was really gentle, so I wanted her again. My appt was noon with Nana but she was still with another client. I waited for about 20min. She was VERY quick with my mani, but it looked great! She did my pedi and callus removal afterwards and again, looked perfect. I got all that done in just an hour! I know a lot of ppl are complaining they're 'too' fast BUT, I've been to other nail salons that take FOREVER and I just wanna leave. I think are efficient and time is money. Nails were not cleaned (just filed, buffed, cuticle oil and a few seconds hand massage) Had a basic pedi done with two different people. The male did not do a massage and rushed the pedi, but the female did do a massage and took her time. You don't get the same service. read more

If you don't have too much time and want a flash quick regular pedicure this is the place for you. You'll be In and out in 15-20min. They definitely rush to finish. They are careless with the nail and cuticle cleaning, 3 second scrub and pat massage and the uneven and patchy varnish application. I can't speak for the other type of gel application or services. But I was not happy with the pedicure I got. I'm a believer of second chances, so will try them once more with a different person and hope for the best and will update my review as needed. Came in on random day and time just because I've been wanting to get my nails done after a year of neglect...especially for my feet. I'm not picky, but when they did my nails...I left noticing that they were not even at all. One side of my hand was shorter and more pointy than the other side. The ladies worked very quickly and finished both mani and pedi within 25 minutes...30 max. Good thing about this spot is that is close by the market, starbucks, and where I needed to be later. Place is quiet and the atmosphere is pretty calm. What I wished was for the ladies to not have to rush...the work was meh. Overall paid $65. $35 gel pedi and 30 for gel mani. Next is for my son. I brought him immediately after mine was done to get his toe and fingernails cut and cleaned. This is our first...his first time doing any of this! Reason... I'm terrible at cutting his toes and believe I've messed them up. I needed him to get it fixed. His service cost $45! Just for his nails to get cut and cleaned...ONLY! I almost died. I haven't had a bad experience here, every nail tech has been through and fast. I'm done with my service in 30-40 mins. My nails needed a refresh, it's been 3 weeks.. one of my nail is cracking. They add extension on the one finger for $5. Total for removal, clean, add gel builder coat and cat eyes style polish is $50. This time Helena assisted me. I look around cause I'm nosy and I see what other girls are getting done for my future inspo and their nails turned out so cute, it gives me an idea of what I would want next. If you're looking for a quality pedicure experience, I would not recommend this salon. Unfortunately, this was the worst pedicure I have ever received. One of my main concerns was that the tools were not removed from a sealed, sanitized bag, which immediately raised questions about cleanliness and sanitation practices. Additionally, the service felt extremely rushed from start to finish, with very little attention given to proper nail care. My nails were simply trimmed and briefly filed, with minimal cleaning performed. The sequence of the service was also unusual. After being seated, my feet soaked for no more than two minutes before my nails were cut and filed with an electric file. Toe separators were then placed, and my feet were wrapped for the additional $10 callus removal treatment. I eventually had to request that my nails be properly shaped and cleaned underneath, as this had not been done. I was told that filing would be completed at the end of the pedicure. However, after my gel polish was applied, the technician removed the callus treatment and instructed me to place my feet back into the water to rinse them off. As a result, my freshly polished nails no longer looked fresh or professionally finished. Having to soak my feet after the polish was applied seemed counterproductive and left me disappointed with the final result. Overall, the experience felt rushed, lacked attention to detail, and did not meet the standards I expect from a professional pedicure service. If you're looking for a relaxing pedicure that leaves you feeling pampered and satisfied, this place is not for you. read more

It's my first time here. I wouldn't say it's bad but it's not what I wanted. The receptionist/perhaps store owner gave me a discount (-$10 off) because I didn't like it. I appreciated her kind gesture. The total cost for these nails was $95. I still tipped $10 to my nail technician because I know how hard it is to work in a busy environment appointment after another. I wished she took more consideration and time working on my nails. The flowers were messy and she added purple flowers to cover up the other purple streaks on the other nails to make it intentional. If you look at my left hand's thumb, you'll understand what I mean. She has potential but rushing with the nails made the experience less enjoyable. read more

Been coming here for a while, and since it's usually busy I just request for whichever nail tech is available first. However, I think I found my new fav nail lady here. Lynn is the best here and at the same time super sweet. I feel like she doesn't go crazy on filing my nails and actually care about my nail health. I'm very particular about nail shape and she always get the shape right. She truly listens to what I want and I always leave as a happy camper. Came to MJ nail salon and I was very impressed with the results! My friend and I got gel pedicures and the service here is SO FAST. Usually when I go to the nail salon it takes at least an hour and when I came to MJ they took less than an hour on my pedicure. They offer regular polish gel polish, and even Japanese gel here. Decided to give MJ a try because my last few visits from my original salon, my gel kept lifting and I was not happy it was not lasting. I called a few days in advance to schedule an appointment and it was quick and easy. Parking was seamless at 11am on a Saturday. It was different when I came out though as I did noticed a lot of people were driving around looking for parking. Scheduled for a gel mani and pedi. Mao mao and a male gentleman helped me during my appointment. Maomao did my manicure and the male did my pedicure. Got to say this was the FASTEST nail appointment Ive ever experience with 33mins and I waited maybe 5-6min in the lobby. They were both friendly and thorough. Very minimal conversation. My gel was not uneven, blotchy, nails are shaped nicely and how fast they finished, i was afraid it wasnt going to look good but it came out nice. Also due to it being my first time, I was afraid of going with a design and paying for something I wouldnt like so I picked a solid color but will most likely come back and try designs. Overall, paid $80 for mani and pedi without tip. They accept credit card, venmo and cash payment. No fees for credit card payment and everything was quick and seamless. They card terminal doesnt automatically have the tip calculator so you apply the tip on the receipt. I think the only thing that I didnt enjoyed from my visit was that the store had their doors open so it was really noisy, there was flies flying around which i saw was also bothering some other customers and they had their tvs on but didnt have anything playing so they couldve had some better ambiance for their customers. I came here for the first time on Friday evening. I wanted to give them a try since their reviews were good. I asked for a fill (acrylic) and they told me they don't de acrylic, which is crazy. Maybe she just didn't want to do it. But she told me she'd do the clear coat that they use for Gel X. She put the coat on and then immediately started painting my nails. She didn't file them, even them out, buffer them, nothing. It felt so rushed. They look so bad, so bumpy and nails going in different directions. I paid $60 dollars for this. I've gone to MJ Nail Island intermittently since they've opened. I was always satisfied with the quality of my manicures (including regular polish/gel, Japanese gel, and Gel X) and pedicures. I didn't have a preferred technician until recently. Ella did a wonderful job capturing designs from the inspo pics that I showed her. The prices were super reasonable ($50-$65) including hard gel, designs, and cat eye polish. Each manicure lasts me about 4 weeks because my nails grow pretty quickly. read more

First I want to say the nail techs (2 of them) were nice and respectful. Unfortunately, I cannot come back because they have a policy that they don't soak your nails for manicure and they also don't push back cuticles. The problem with only using the drill itself it cannot get all the dried up cuticle or if you have a nail getting ingrown. I understand if you are getting gel nails some places may not soak your nails but I called ahead and asked for a traditional mani/pedi. The charge was $45 which is more than reasonable, but expensive if they could not do a good job cleaning up the nails. I really wanted this to be my new go to place because it is near my work, but unfortunately I need to make an appointment at my regular place this weekend and get a true mani/pedi. Which now, double the cost I was spending because I need someone else to do what they are not capable/willing to do. Also, the best they can do is warm "ish" water. I asked for hotter water for soaking my feet for my pedicure and they could not accommodate me. Also, they do the hand and feet massage immediately AFTER polishing which is not good because you can't relax for fear of smearing your nail polish and they are also very careful so you don't get the hand massage you would get at a different salon that does massage before polishing. The restroom could be cleaner, having a working light besides a floor lamp that is going to fall over would be nice and they had no paper towels to dry my hands in the restroom. I could only give it a 2. Would review much less, but they were nice and not the nail tech fault because it is the location policy and rules and they are doing as they are instructed. So, if you go here for a traditional manicure you will not get that. In over 45 years of going to nail salons, high end and little hole in the walls locations, this is the first that would not soak my hands and do regular cuticle removal. I also didn't appreciate the young gentleman that came to speak with me and attempted to gaslight me in thinking what I was asking for never existed. I go to enough places to know it is an actual thing to soak the hands and use the manual cuticle tools. I still tipped a little over 20% because not nail tech fault. Again, I only went in for a traditional manicure/pedicure. I cannot speak on any other service they provide. If you go here, just know what you are walking into. read more

Momo did my gel manicure and she is so clean, organized and my nails came out perfectly. I did a gel overlay and my nails are not bulky at all. What was really impressive was that I was finished in an hour! Parking can be a challenge. Okay quality but reasonable pricing for nails! I've come here quite a few times to do my nails because the pricing is very reasonable for gel-X and gel nails. However the quality from my experience has been okay. The gel-X nails will last at most 2 weeks before one nail falls off or they grow out. The service is also a hit or miss. They take walk ins and from my past experience I made an appointment for gel pedicure at 7pm. But since they might've taken too many walk ins or overbooked I ended up getting seated in the chair at 7:15ish and waited another 20ish minutes before a nail technician worked on me. By time she started it was around 7:35pm. It was a bit frustrating having to wait so long, but the nail technician I had did a wonderful job for my pedicure. The gel pedicure cost $35 which was very affordable comparing it to other nail salons who were charging $50 for the same service. read more

Best nails I've ever had! SALON They only do Gel x, Gel, and Japanese Gel. I heard they don't do acrylics, because it's not as healthy for the lungs. The place provides standard aspects of a nail salon which include: a reception desk, seating area (small with plush couches), manicure tables, and pedicure chairs. They have a small staff but it looks as though they work very efficiently when customers do come in. Although my appointment started later (original time was 7PM, but didn't get services until 7:10), I'm able to overlook that due to the quality customer service and efficiency. The nails don't even last a full week I had my pinky nail fall off three days later I went back to do a repair. They said I had to make an appointment two days later another nail fell. I got my nails done on Sunday. It is now Friday and two nails have fallen and they don't have time to fix it unless you make an appointment which is ridiculous After I spent so much money they don't care about customer service they don't care about repairing your nail.
