Amazing service. I called this morning to get an appointment and they had a cancellation so they were able to squeeze me in. Right away they offered me water, coffee, and a little snack. I got gel manicure and Jenn really paid attention to detail, normally the places I go to I end up leaving with my gel being bumping and rough as they are just trying to get me out of the chair as fast as they can, but Jenn took her time and would wipe the gel is it wasn't being applied nicely. I'm definitely going to be going back. 10/10 would recommend.
I've been coming to Nail Star VK for a couple of months now. I've been consistently pleased with the service here. Vicky (owner) and her nail tech (Anna I think?) are both great! The first time I had Vicky as my nail tech. I had just come back from Japan and got my nails done in Japan and fell in love. I searched everywhere to find a good nail salon nearby that does Japanese gel (something about their formula lasts longer than regular gel and is supposedly better for your nails but I never fact checked that) and I was happy to find Nail Star VK on Yelp. She was able to help me execute exactly what I wanted from a photo I gave her - pink marbling with gold. The second time I came, I did a mani and pedi so I had a different nail tech for my pedi but Vicky again for my Japanese gel mani. She also did a great job with my nails this time with a pink seashell with gold flakes design. The third time I came, I believe I got Anna(?) as my nail tech. She was very good and thorough with the job but I wanted these crystals applied onto my nails this time. Not even one week after I left, some of the crystals popped off my nail! I immediately texted Vicky photos of what happened and she worked with me to come back in so they can be replaced. Although I was sad that my nails were not perfect during my vacation (I did them right before I left), I was really appreciative that she scheduled me in on NYE's as soon as I got back from vacation to get them fixed before my party that night! The most recent time I came, Anna(?) was my nail tech again and she did a great job with what I wanted yet again - red and gold with cat's eye. Every time I get my nails done here, I am always pleased with the results and get many compliments from my friends. Even though the shop isn't fancy or anything, Vicky and her team work hard and have a lot of designs to choose from and the service is always good. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for Japanese gel or gel-x!
Vicky continues to be extremely kind, talented, and patient. She skips her lunch and breaks when projects need more time. She's so incredibly accommodating and works so hard to fit you into her day-all while working on her customers nails at the same time! She always has a fun Netflix show going in the background if you want to veg out. I go to her to beautify my nails before every major photography session lol. She's done my nails for my bridal shower, my wedding, other people's weddings, baby shower, birthdays, vacations, etc. I trust no one else! Make appointments by instagram messenger. She's very quick about responding and often asks if you'll want a design. She'll quote you a price--if you need a reminder just ask! It's always helpful to send pics of what you're envisioning. I'll literally pull up cartoons and ask her if it's possible and she always does her best! I always have shorter nails, and I get the gel mani pedi. It usually costs me from $100-160 depending on the designs. She takes her time and is truly such an amazing artist! Vicky also specializes in so many other fancy techniques I've never ventured into--you have got to check her instagram out @nail_star_vk Jenny is always around and so kind as well. She's always offering to help with grabbing colors and offers water and smiles and laughs. Parking is always available and free. Tip well!
My first time with Vicky was about 3 weeks ago and let me just say I LOVE her work! My mani is still IMMACULATE and my nails are growing super fast! I got the hard gel overlay with a hot pink color! When it comes to her color selection, she literally has EVERY color you could imagine. I think this was the best my nails have ever looked! She truly is an artist that takes pride in her work. She is by appointment only so I suggest booking in advance. It will be 4 weeks next Friday and I honestly feel like the Polish will hold up for another 2 weeks!!!!! Still going strong but I can't wait to go back!

I got my nails done today by Rebecca at this nail salon and I had a really good experience here! This place is appointment only but I was able to call I'm right when they opened and got a same day appointment on a Sunday. They checked my temperature and made me put on hand sanitizer at the door before going inside the salon. I had an inspo I had from Pinterest and showed the picture to Rebecca and she was able to replicate it really beautifully! She was attentive to shaping my nails and making sure all the lengths matched. I highly recommend and look forward to coming back. I got a gel manicure with designs on every finger and the total cost came out to be $67. A bit on the pricier side but worth the design work and experience in my opinion!

We came in with an idea of what we wanted but once we saw all the different sample designs on display we got excited and overwhelmed with how great and nice they were! The salon itself had a very cute and homey atmosphere, and they were playing Netflix which was a nice side entertainment! I was so in love with my nails, from the length, shape, to the amazing design. I could not have asked for more! Vicki is extremely caring when handling nails and is very meticulous with design. I'd recommend this place to anyone! I had my nails done over 2 weeks ago but I still wanted to make sure to leave a review since it was such a lasting impression. Got my nails by Vicky, I tried to make an appointment with her the same day. Even though it was such a short notice. She called me back and accommodated me and let me know she was available. Everyone was super nice and friendly. It's a small place and I waited for 1 hour or so. But they made sure I was comfortable. And apologized for taking so long. And when Vicky started on my nails. She was explaining the process and how gel is better than acrylics. And it's not as damage to the actual nails. So I love how it turned out. The full set with no design was $70 and she said later on refill is about $50. I never paid this much for full set. But honestly I loved how it turned out. Thank you Vicky!
My friend and I were in town for a BTS concert (what's up, armyyy!) and we wanted to get our nails done before the show (need to look fresh for my bias #iykyk). Before flying out to LA, I looked up a bunch of nail salons and reached out to Nail Star VK based on their great reviews. They were able to accommodate me and my friend at the same time so we booked appointments and they were very communicative beforehand. They asked for pictures of the designs we were thinking of and gave us a cost range for each so we knew what to expect going in. The salon is clean and they do a phenomenal and meticulous job with nails. They really care about making sure you are happy before leaving. I'd totally be a regular here if I lived in LA.
Vicky is a wonderful, amazing, beautiful and talented lady! She has been my nail lady for 2 years now, and I only trust her to do my nails. I don't mind spending the extra money to get her skills and techniques onto my nails. She does nothing but the best to take care of your nails. I've always admired her talents. It's irreplaceable. I want a lot of creative style type of nail designs for my nails. Both my hands are different and Vicky lives up to my expectations every time. Even if something happens to my nails, she tells me she can fix it. I remember one of my stones fell off, and she took me in within the hour to replace the stone. I've also had incidents were a powder made butterfly broke, and she re made the butterfly and put it onto my design again. This happens because I'm an international model and my fiancé and I travel a lot, so my nails are busy busy but I love designs! Ladies, look no more, Vicky takes care of you and all the staff members in this nail salon is a wonderful amazing group! Please also be patient with Vicky because she is the only one that answers phone and texts! When she is busy with an appointment, she will reply when she can. She is totally worth it. The time and energy she spends on nails is like amazed balls to me every time! Happy pampering!
A small, inconspicuous exists in nail shop exists in the corner of a dank plaza with old paint and dusty signs. There is plenty of parking, and shops have metal bars over windows. Upon entering, this nail shop is small, quaint and cute with 2 spa chairs for pedicures and 2 spots at a desk for manicures. There is a small cute couch with books or boxes of nail colors to choose from. There are the same colors for gel and regular, because the company they use provide the same color for both. It's convenient to choose from the sample plastic key chain thing for color instead of looking at the bottles. The employees were super courteous and took their time to do a great job. I got a regular pedicure, and it was done in a timely manner and well. I'd definitely be back! Definitely call for an appointment. You can also text the owner as well. They also have great examples of nail art.

I recommended my friend to come here. lady who did her mani and pedi was AWFUL. ended up cutting her finger (see the dried blood), so she opted no mani in fear of infection. thought pedi was fine but clearly not. texted the owner and she had her come in to redo. Redid the big toes and coated the others with another layer of polish with top coat. 3 STARS for Vicky - SUPER apologetic and nice. refused tip. but redo on big toes still not fine... read more
Nice, very clean place with lots of colors and options for design, especially if you're getting a full set. There's a great color selection for Japanese gel polish too. I just got regular gel polish & a pedi for my first time there. Vicky & everyone there were super nice. Will definitely come back. read more

I will never go to another nail place again! Vicky is the sweetest nail tech I ever worked with and her assistants are also very sweet! She's very detailed with her work and tries to give you exactly what you want. I messaged her ahead of time with the design I wanted and it was very easy communicating with her. I also was all over the place with my scheduling and she did her best to accommodate me despite me changing the appointment a few times. This is one of the few salons in the area that carry Japanese gel polish! It is an extra charge, but completely worth it in my opinion. The colors are so much softer than traditional gel polishes. The salon itself is super clean and tidy. Parking is very easy as the plaza is fairly big. And last but not least, she has Netflix for your enjoyment. read more

Finally found someone local to me that does an amazing job! Vicky worked with me on getting an appointment at the last minute! She welcomed me and made me feel comfortable at all times. We were talking about different designs and options for lasting healthy nails which I liked a lot. Rebeka did my design and shape and she definitely did an incredible art! I will definitely choose Vicky & Rebeka for my nails from now on. Highly recommended! See you guys soon read more

Cutest, teeny, in the corner, hole-in-the-wall location that I hope doesn't get too busy if I help highlight their existence. Solid pedicures. A zillion color options. When I get gel manicures.. I always take them art inspo and they pretty much nail it. ha ha. a pun. I've had them do Sanrio, Ghibli, modern art.. all sorts. Super glad they are adjacent to my neighborhood. You gotta bring cash for payment though! be warned! read more

My first time here and it's my new favorite nail salon! They have a huge color selection for gel and regular nail polish for a small place and the interior is very cute. I am impressed with how clean they keep their salon. Also, their nail polish is of good quality and not separating which is sometimes the downside to most nail places. It is appointment only but so worth the wait, and a bit hard to find but I think it's inside the Monterey Park plaza in the back. They do extensions, acrylics, and probably more that I can't list. 28 for gel mani (+10 for cat eye and +5 for Japanese nail polish which lasts even longer than regular gel?) 18 for regular pedi Total time: 1hr 15min I really like the cat eye, it's worth the extra 10$. The staff is really friendly and you can text their number to schedule an appointment. They also speak Cantonese, which is a plus for me. I highly recommend to everyone and will be referring my family and friends to this place. No regrets here. read more

Hands down the coolest, nicest, and best nails I've ever had. Interior is gorgeous and fun to look at with all the boxes of sparkles and bright nail polish. Owner is very upfront about pricing, a lot of salons in the area add fees at the end. I honestly can't stop looking at my nails. Definitely a touch more expensive than traditional acrylics but worth the price if you want to treat yourself. read more

I've never been particularly loyal to any nail place (because I don't get my nails done often), but Vicky is definitely the one . I was recommended to her from a friend and she is absolutely the best hands down! I've come to her place about three times now for gel manicures, and I've been impressed every time at the longevity of the gel manicure. She excels at designs and takes her time with every client. The other girl who works there, Holly, is also amazing. Next time I'm definitely treating myself to a pedicure as well as gel extensions~ Her studio is tucked in the corner of a small strip mall. First time getting my nails done here a few weeks ago. I'm the type that is terrified to try someone new, extremely picky and Vicky did not disappoint. Very nicely appointed space and a TV to keep you entertained. It was my first time getting gel extensions and now I'm hooked. Vicky took her time, paid attention to all the little details and didn't cut any corners. She is a pro at shaping nails! Her ombré is the best I have ever seen. My nails are growing out beautifully, the Japanese polish I tried is still nice and shiny and the gel polish isn't peeling or chipping. I'll be back soon for a fill! So happy to have found them! Got my first ever gel manicure here. I texted Vicki for an appointment and she set me up with Rebecca. When I first walked in, I was welcomed by Vicki and Jenny with their warm smiles! This place looks super clean and has cute decor. The whole time the girls made sure I was comfortable and Jenny even offered me the TV remote to change the channel! Super sweet. I picked a Japanese Gel Color and it was $33, which I think is a reasonable price. Everything was done within 50 minutes. After I left, I noticed one nail is a bit too pointy for my liking, so I drove back to see if they could file a little for me, which they did. So overall I'm a happy customer! I am usually nervous when I try a new nail salon but this time was different. After reading the reviews I thought I would give this place a try. I was not disappointed! When I text Vicky for an appt, I wanted to do a Valentine's design, she ask me to send her a picture. When I walked into her salon it was really cute and very artistic looking. Vicky took her time and I can see how meticulous she is. She designed my nails exactly like the picture I had showed her! Vicky and the other gals that work there are very sweet. If I could give Nail Star VK more than 5 stars I would! I have found my favorite nail salon! read more

Been looking for a place to get my nails done in the area. Found this on yelp and found Vicky's Instagram. Vicky was super sweet and managed to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment. I gave her a picture of what I wanted and she helped me get exactly that! Highly recommended, ask for Vicky :) PS. Remember to bring cash! Parking in this plaza is super easy too. read more
