They knocked on our door and said they would be in the neighborhood in 2 days and could give us quote on the spot for any exterior work. I scheduled them to come by for a quote on minor stucco repair. First thing that threw me off is he then asked me if my husband would be there...I've managed and hired over 8 different contractors over the last 3 months, no one has asked me that. Guy came on time on Saturday and we walked around the house with him for 30 mins and showed him all the areas we wanted repaired. Then we asked for the quote, and he said he needed to schedule another 1 hour meeting with us, and suggested the next Saturday. We said we didn't need a meeting, and asked for an email quote, and he said they don't work like that. I said we'd get back to them on if we could do next Saturday. I followed up with them on next and told them we won't be doing a 1 hour sit down (especially after I read their yelp reviews). However the sales guy still showed up. He was very pushy and rude when I told him we didn't have time for a 1 hour presentation. I told him we were happy to review emailed quotes, and he said no, and I said we'd go with someone else, and then he left. I got a followup call a couple days later from Tidal asking me how the meeting went. I told them what happened, and the guy on the phone said he actually had a quote for me for $27.8k! This was for MINOR stucco repair. I got other quotes for 1/10th that price. What a waste of time. read more

No pressure sales, good communication, and patient back and forth on scoping out the project. Office called everyday to ensure work was going to plan. Work itself was excellent with a large crew who cranked out the work in short order. Foreman was great and properly graded and had drainage for everything. It's rare I have any home improvement plan go perfectly... There was a mixup with the cap installed on the retaining wall, but they addressed it promptly without issue. A section of pavers settled in the driveway after a few months, but they came out and fixed it without any hassle, so they definitely held up their end of the contract. I got three bids and they were around the middle of the pack, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. All in all, great business! read more

If you want to get a price quote from Tidal Remodeling, first you have to sit through a one-hour hard-sell pitch about how good they are. They came out and measured my roof and poked around in my attic to prepare a quote for re-roofing. Then they sat down at my dining room table and opened up a PowerPoint presentation that has about 50 slides that talk about how good they are. After the 3rd slide, I told them I had to get back to work and asked for the price quote. They said they would like to schedule a time to come back when they could give the whole hard-sell pitch. The next day I called their office and told them I just wanted to get the price quote, and I didn't want to hear the whole sales pitch. The woman told me she would contact the sales rep and get back to me. She never got back to me. I really don't like this way of doing business. If they had done a lousy job of re-roofing the house, that would be a 1-star review. Part 1: Consultation with Jonathan was soooo thorough. It was practically a science lesson on how to prevent mold, termites, and sun damage. I was having fun geeking out with the different vials and swatches, and learned a lot! Part 2: Our onsite project manager, Rene, was super helpful. Every day we'd get the a.m. rundown on what was going to happen, and the p.m. summary of how it went and what was planned for the next day. If there were any questions, he would ask them to be sure his team was getting it right. Every evening tools and supplies would be neatly stowed out of the way so we wouldn't trip over them. Gabriela, the in office project manager, would give us a call daily to see if we had any questions or concerns, and summarize the remaining timeline. They came into my 83 year old Aunts house and scammed here out of $30,000 They salesman Nick Shobiz was not very professional on the phone. When he came to the house he knew that they only needed $2,460 according to the insurance form to fix some paint. He then proceeded to sell her some crap paint claiming it would help cool down the house. I've been in the construction industry for years and have never seen such a scam of a product. He processed to tell her she needed to fix the stucco and doors around the house. The back room that needs to be fixed wasn't even on his radar he was trying to cover up a metal sided room with 2x4s then lath it and stucco over that when all it needs is a coat of paint. I have contacted them multiple times so that we can see a contract but yet nothing comes from them. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS ITS A SCAM. THEY PREY ON THE EDELRLY FOR THEYRE WORK. read more

This is the second time we have used TIDAL Remodeling. The first time was a year ago when they insulated our attic. This time we needed our shingles replaced on our roof, and we have solar. When Jaxon and Eric approached me, and said it's been over a year, and we have a deal for you, we had to listen. We had 2 sales reps, Jaxon and Bergan come to our home for a second consultation on 9/28, they were absolutely amazing! They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and confident in their product. My mother and I who own our house were ready to pull the trigger on a large project and we were even going to work with them to bring them a large amount of additional business. UNTIL, they called their manager during the meeting to ask about offering special pricing. The manager, I believe his name was Shai, completely lost the sale. Instead of coaching the rep to take the call outside BEFORE starting to talk, he ALMOST IMMEDIATELY went into berating the rep about what he should have done instead! So unprofessional!! There is a time and place for coaching and feedback and it's not during the sales meeting!! It's warrantied to not chip, flake or peel as long as you own your home. Its resistant to fading, mold and mildew. But best of all, it reduces the temperature of your home. I'd recommend to do your own research if you're interested by watching Youtube videos or reading articles. Yes, you'll you pay a little more but the paint is designed to last and protect your home. I'd like to give some credit to the painting team as well. They showed up every day on-time and were very respectful to my home. They prepared the house well, taping off areas as you would normally expect. They always reached out to me if there were any decisions about painting over fixtures or around them. I was really hoping I'd be able to write a positive review about Tidal Remodeling. I recently hired them for roofing. The salesman Nick promised me no surprises with the billing, and I'd be involved in every step along the way. He specifically mentioned that when they did the wood count, I would be notified prior to anything being done. I reminded the office staff to contact me when that step of the process was to be performed. Conveniently, no one notified me and I was then surprised by a 30% add to my bill upon completion of the work. What really bothered me about this experience was with the payment. I paid in check and was contacted that my check bounced, and I needed to provide another form of payment. I followed up with my bank, and the check had been cashed the week prior by "Tidal Remodeling." Weird that they used the word bounced and followed with needing another form of payment. It then felt like I had to do all the follow-up to make sure the "misunderstanding" was corrected. The laborers they hire are unskilled and will trash your property. They broke my internet line while I was working from home and told me "I don't think you will sue me for that so we won't compensate you". They will do the worst roofing job you can possibly imagine and will cause damage to your home, leaving you with the bill. The tiles they use fall apart after a year in the California heat and cause a brown runoff. They try to guarantee the quality of the tiles with a manufacturers warranty, which the manufacturer will not honor. Our new roof installation was begun on our time frame and finished exactly when promised. The professionalism throughout the install was evident even before the crew arrived (early) on the first day. The reps for the company were amiable, knowledgable, and eager to answer any questions that my wife and I had. Their description of the entire process was described in detail; even the materials that were to be used on our home were offered for our inspection. We were shown photos and videos of previous roof installations performed by Tidal. The entire cost, including lumber if necessary, was shown in graphic form, and given to us in written form. No strong-arming was involved. The crew, as aforementioned, showed up early on the first day. There was no coming-and-going; all crews were on site for the entire day. The front office communicated with us at least twice a day, utilizing texts, emails or phone calls. Materials were delivered directly to the roof by conveyor belt, nothing was carried up a ladder by crew members, which we were told could result in the cracking or tearing of the roofing materials. At the end of each day the grounds were scoured for debris (removing the old roof was a dirty/dusty exercise). The trailer used for haul-away was only in our driveway for a day-and-a-half. We had solar panels that needed to be removed and replaced, and that went very smoothly. The old roof vents were replaced with sleeker, less bulky ones. The most edifying part of the whole process was the replacement of plywood on portions of our roof. Given the opportunity to over-sell us on lumber, it turned out that we needed to replace only three sheets of plywood. After the roof was completed, we were walked through the whole process and offered the opportunity to give our feedback and ask any questions about the install. In the mid 80's our concrete driveway had been cracked down the middle by the weight of a roofing contractor's delivery truck. The space between our driveway and the neighbor's yard was basically mud. We had watched as various neighbors contracted work on their homes and then waited weeks between construction stages and the finished job. We had an additional problem of what to do with the two vehicles we parked in our garage. One was an EV with a 220 V plugin. The thought of weeks or even months without access to our cars or parking on the street with no plug-in was just too stressful. After explaining the above and that we were in no hurry to start the job we explained that it was important that once the job was started it should be finished in a few days. In a couple of weeks we were informed that the teams were ready and they would show up on a Thursday morning. Sure enough at 7:30 AM the demo team arrived with all of the proper equipment. They broke up and removed the drive and walkways and excavated to a depth of 12". By Friday AM materials and workers arrived and the prep was finished. The Pavers were delivered and "Groupo Barrera" as I called them, arrived and began measuring and staking out the exact layout and design of the border, etc. They consulted with me on how to layout the pavers where they contacted the existing garage floor and concrete borders. Watching the Groupo Barrera teamwork was amazing. One team member bringing different sized and colored pavers to each of the other members as they chose and laid out all of the varied pieces. They never stood or looked up as they worked through the day. By Friday it was looking so good that we easily accepted Jonathan's offer of a special discount to pave beyond the front gate and another 56 ft. to the back yard. The Demo Team showed up and hauled away 43 years worth of backyard junk and excavated and prepared the 5ft wide walkway including a "French Drain" with a "Popup" at the sidewalk. Wow the reps of Tidal Remodeling were Eric and Jaxon. I had asked Tidal Remodeling for a possible roof replacement and attic insulation consult. Eric and Jaxon went into action like a Dynamic Duo. First, they did an inspection on top of the roof and then later the attic with tape measure and clipboard in hand. After the inspection the two went into a very professional presentation utilizing their laptop as to show what to expect, materials used, and prior examples/jobs. Both appeared to be knowledgeable about construction requirements and codes. I went with the attic insulation first and a roof replacement for the future, their suggestion. A few days later a crew of 3 led by Alex came out and installed my insulation up in our attic. It took them about 2 1/2 hours. The crew was courteous, professional and quick. After they were done, they did a quick clean up, and informed me they had completed the job. I went up into the attic and was glad someone other than me completed it. There were crawl spaces I did not want to deal with, but they did. Alex did a fine job all around the edges of the attic with a deep 14" to 16" deep of additional insulation.
