Pretty standard beach bar at a connecting hotel with beach access and a basic food menu. 4 stars because the wait staff was a little lacking.

Fun spot right on the beach. Came here a few times during our visit. Nice bartenders who can make lots of different stuff and keep things moving. Really enjoyed my fish tacos for lunch. Great quesadilla and wings too. Yummy eats for sure and nice spot to grab a drink and enjoy the beach too. Weekends had live music outside as well. Love those beachy vibes all the way.

We wanted to have a drink on the beach that was child friendly, so my husband suggested Tides Beach Bar. We got there around 4:30 pm and it was pretty crowded, but not crowded enough where we couldn't find a hightop, which was awesome news for us. They were also having some happy hour specials $4 Bud Light, $4 Red Stripe, $4 16 oz. Kona. I originally wanted a frozen drink, but due to the bar being a bit crowded, I opted for something quicker and got a Kona. The Kona was cold and it's the first time I've seen it come in 16 oz. cans. Not necessarily groundbreaking news, but I was excited about it. The views were pretty good. You can see a bit of beach, but mostly dunes. There was a nice breeze and also a little "sand pit" for the kiddos or those that want to play cornhole. All in all it was a nice place to stop and have a drink. Pros: -Close to the beach -Variety of beer specials Cons: -I wish I could have seen more of the beach Tips: Check out their happy hour specials.

Unfortunately after my experience this past weekend I'm going to have to lower my review for the Tides Beach Bar & Grill. I took my visiting friend from KY to the beach. I like to sit behind the Hampton Inn as they have this bar/restaurant right on the beach. We went up to have lunch and a few drinks. We placed our food and drink orders. We waited for our drink nearly 15 minutes. But our food took nearly an hour. We ordered a chicken quesadilla and french fries. We wanted chips and salsa but they were out of chips. Mind you it was Saturday afternoon around 2 PM. So we went with the fries. After about 40 minutes we started asking our server to check on our order. On several other occasions eating here prior I never waited longer than 20 minutes for food. We saw several people that ordered food after us be served. And we were told one of the couples was getting married in the hotel the following weekend. Not cool to jump food orders ever! The chicken quesadilla was delicious. The french fries were not hot because they had been waiting on the chicken quesadilla apparently. They comped our food and one drink each which was much appreciated. And I can't forget loved the live entertainment. I was also told there is a new GM managing the hotel. I hope you will read my review and make some changes quick or you're going to lose this local.

Tides beach bar and grille has a great beach atmosphere, views and food. We had a couple of beers and great baskets: grouper sandwich and fried jumbo shrimp with onion rings and fries. The staff was very professional and courteous. Prompt service with food and drinks.

This tiki bar is located in the Hampton Inn Jacksonville Beach. This post is only for drinks as we didn't eat, and they are tasty. While some might think they are a little on the pricey side, you have to remember your on the beach at a hotel. They do have daily specials, see photo, that are very reasonable. The staff we friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. Will definitely come back.

A secret hidden gem! An incredible view of the Ocean with some redressing drinks and good food! It's been getting busier now that it's summer and it seems to not be so secret any more but I still love coming here.

Nice thing about this place is that no matter if your staying at one of the hotels or passing through you can stop and hang out for a while. Easy access to the beach. Most staff is pretty friendly and quick to serve you. By far our best bartender was Gordi. Really personable and seemed to be pretty good at working the bar and our orders for food. (Too bad we had the pleasure of meeting him on our last day) We stayed at the Hampton on this trip and were taken care of with no problems. Food is pretty good. Service was good and the atmosphere was perfect for hanging out seaside.

Their cocktails are superb and very high-quality. The service is absolutely the best in the entire city that I have ever experienced. Not only was everybody friendly, but they were super excited about their experience and their products and were very willing to answer questions and provide any guidance we wanted. During our 90 minute visit, I'm certain they stopped at our table 4 or five times to check on us. It was not intrusive, it was part of the experience. We were blown away. When we left, our bill was reasonable, we felt we had a high-quality night out, and we made plans to 100% come back much more often. I just can't rate this place higher or speak more highly of it. Truly worthy of five stars. Thank you, Mayport Garden Club, for the justice that you do to your patrons, the world of tiki, and craft cocktails! While reservations are required, Laura the owner , was gracious enough to let us get transported to this wonderful place you see here. First off, this place is everything! The details from ceiling to wall to all the fixtures, it's very immersive, you are in the islands sir or ma'am! Goodbye Jacksonville! We were seated up front where performer Kalani Rose set the mood and infused the air with her lovely voice. The tempo was upbeat, the volume was just right, allowing for intimate conversation and lively chatter alike. Great for date nights and group outings. We ordered food including Aloha Sliders, Huli Huli Wings , and Furikake Fries. Food was good, would've loved more of the glaze on the mini burgers tho! The drinks we ordered included Mai Tai (rum based w/ orange ) and Halekulani (bourbon with pineapple orange and lemon) , these were delicious. A bit on pricey side but strong! But, you're paying for the presentation and the atmosphere! If you've ever been to the old tiki lounge off baymeadows from years past, this one is much better! The entire staff is so cool. Just some information to know it is primarily a bar, they only have about 6 appetizers to order from. The appetizers were good and came out very quickly. The first thing that caught my attention was the amount of times they put food down at our table we did not order after about the 3rd or 4th time of this happening it seemed to be something they do to up the bill in hopes you don't notice. The second thing that thoroughly surprised and bothered me was after ordering another round of drinks, the second the drink was put at our table the waitress came over to check us out. No one had asked for the bill so we were all confused as to why we were being told we needed to close out, especially since we had just ordered more drinks. The waitress tells our party they have another reservation coming and they need our table... We all scramble quickly to leave so there's no issue and once we were outside that's when we realized there was no time limit on our table nor did anyone ask to close out the tab. Thankfully the hula dancers and our own group made the experience great however this place is very clearly a money grab and should not be accepting more reservations than can be handled as it completely ruined the end of our experience.

Today felt like the beginning of a whole new kind of adventure for us…read more Susan and I recently bought Sea-Doos with one goal in mind, exploring the coastline and Intracoastal while discovering great waterfront bars and restaurants along the way. This was our first real outing, and with friends joining us, we launched from Palm Valley Outdoors, one of our favorite places, and headed north toward Jacksonville. Our destination was Mavi Waterfront Bar & Grill, a place we had found once before completely by accident while searching for a boat rental location. That first visit left a strong impression on us, so arriving this time by water made the experience even more memorable. Pulling up by Sea-Doo was an adventure in itself. We got our first real chance to test out the bumpers, managed to get docked, grabbed our dry clothes from the watertight compartment, and headed inside feeling like we had already earned our first drink of the day. We chose a table out on the deck near the live band, which turned out to be the perfect spot. The music was phenomenal, the view of the boats added to the atmosphere, and the bit of shade over our table was a welcome bonus on a warm Florida day. It had exactly the kind of laid back waterfront energy we were hoping for. The drinks set the tone right away. Their rum drink is one we would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys a beachy cocktail with a tropical feel. Susan and her friend ordered the cucumber vodka drink, which was bright, refreshing, and better than expected. Even for someone who is not usually a cucumber fan, it was surprisingly enjoyable. For lunch, Susan ordered the seared ahi tuna, and it was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, it was one of those dishes that immediately stands out. I went with the Philly cheesesteak sub, and while the portion was a little smaller than I typically prefer, the flavor made up for it. It was genuinely excellent, and the French fries were every bit as good as we hoped. We also started with the conch fritters, and this is where Mavi really shines. Conch fritters can be hit or miss, especially when you live close enough to the Bahamas to know what good ones should taste like. Mavi does them right. We had them on our previous visit and made sure to order them again this time, and they absolutely delivered. Our friends also had the Bam Bam shrimp, which looked fantastic and earned rave reviews from the table. What makes Mavi especially appealing is that it feels a little hidden, like one of those places you almost have to know about to find. That only adds to its charm. The drinks are strong, the food is satisfying, the atmosphere is lively, and the waterfront setting makes the entire experience feel like an occasion. For us, this visit was about more than lunch. It was the first stop in what we hope becomes a long series of waterfront adventures by Sea-Doo. Mavi Waterfront Bar & Grill gave us exactly the kind of experience we were looking for, relaxed, fun, flavorful, and just a little more special because we arrived by water. Culinary Duo Verdict: Mavi is well worth seeking out. Go for the conch fritters, stay for the view, and arrive by boat or Sea-Doo if you can, because it makes a great waterfront spot feel even better.
