Today I had my much needed and long awaited eye exam. My eyes have been bothering me for quite a while now so off I went. The store itself is beautiful. Big open space right on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood. The staff are very friendly and helpful. After filling out a short form I was called in (early) Dr. Tiffany Li the optometrist took me back into the comfortable exam room and ran me through the various tests (I.e vision, pressure etc.) She has an amazing personality and made the whole thing pleasant. Along the way she answered my questions and explained everything fully. After, the front desk manager sat me down and went over all the pricing and options. As I know and expected it is very expensive. But, for something this important that isn't a great shock. Hence, I wasn't able to select my glasses today but will in several weeks when able. What more can I say? They're awesome here! They accept VSP insurance which is what I assume the majority of Americans have for vision. I explained to them that I really just need sunglasses so that my eyes aren't blinded by the LA sun continuously. After doing a routine eye exam and go over the results they were able to get me a mild prescription (I don't have 20/20 vision FYI). Everything was so smooth and simple. I had already picked out some Ray Bans from Macy's. Just be sure to have the UPC code and model number. They can order just about any type for you if you have those two things. It's February and you are now calling me about contacts that I ordered in October which I never received from you and had to order myself through LensDirect After having you refund my insurance. I mean. Seriously. You refunded my insurance for items not received and then call to tell me they arrived 5 months later. Go eff your self. Your customer service is blind. It was time for my annual eye exam and I had to go see Dr Lai and this location is fantastic!! I was able to get my annual eye exam and she takes my insurance since I just changed insurances since it had changed but she took my new one as well. This place is big, spacious, and hip!! Just like WeHo!! The selection of frames were amazing here with Tom Ford, Prada, Ray Ban, Oliver Peoples etc. I asked if I could get something they don't carry/in stock and they said "of course". Super helpful staff that took good care of me and adjusted my old sunglasses to fit my face properly. I've been in LA only 5 years and the last 4 I've been examined by Dr. Lai, let's just say the first Doc I went to in LA left me with a bad taste and frustrated with my sight. Dr. Lai always takes her time and explains everything to me in layman's terms and sets my expectations correctly. Dr.Lau was quick and efficient but the front desk service was very disappointing. I just couldn't cut a break - not polite when I offered my insurance - I felt the lady was really judging me - and GUESS WHAT they are affiliated with my plan. First time I have ever had glasses not adjusted to my face - happy to be out of there. No parking around that area - expensive meters in front - do not get there on time - as they seem to run a little late every day. OMG! I just had an eye appt. I haven't had one in 9 years after having Lasik and was nervous because eye disease runs in the family but Dr. Tiffany Li was so kind, she took her time with me, and answered all of my questions. She said that I should stop being nervous and gave advice like a crystal to absorb some of the rays from my phone and blue light for my computer screen and new sunglasses. She gave me props for saying that I am doing the right thing with the exam and taking preventative measures. She was AMAZING and gentle and I will definitely go back and see her next year :) Looking forward to my yearly exams now! read more

Rob is an amazing practitioner; full disclosure, I knew him in college, so when I heard that he was an optometrist I decided to try him out a few years ago. I have to be picky as I have a very strong prescription and some other complications. I thought that his service on his old site was great, but was a little far for me to go to regularly. Now I'm following him to the other side of LA County from where I live because his new place is the best! I love how bright and lovely his space is, there's a great selection of frames, and his staff couldn't be nicer or more professional. But the best part is the high quality of arrive for my high index eyes. I love my new glasses - and they fit perfectly, on the very first fitting! No adjustment necessary - after a lifetime of glasses, that had NEVER happened before! I'm very impressed, and will continue to trek over from Pasadena to have only Dr Dirksen treat my contacts and glasses needs. Just today I ordered custom-fitted clip-ons for my new gorgeous frames per his office staff's suggestions, as I completely trust their ideas. I've been getting my glasses here for a few years due to the excellent service and their great selection. I have a complicated prescription & a number of special requirements for lenses. I always get exactly what I need - wonderful quality lenses. I am someone who has a 'look', so I tend to get similar styles in my frames each time. (Plus, one particular style looks best with my face shape). But I like to keep things fresh. LA Optometrique always has great up-to-date styles that look 'now'. I also am really particular about fit & have specific requirements for how glasses feel on me. These folks always accommodate me and work to customise the fit as I like it. I never feel rushed or that I'm imposing. Really top service & product. I've also visited their docs for eye exams, the docs are also first-rate & thorough. Going to keep coming here! I am very grateful to Dr Robert and Gabriel at his front desk for being patient and thorough with me. They both took the time to make sure that I was completely comfortable and satisfied with my new prescription. With my stigmatism in both eyes, my experience with other doctors I have went to were that they quick to write me a new prescription without giving me options to really see what was the perfect fit for me. When you need a doctor who is beyond capable, funny and (good looking) to boot- look no further. This place is amaze balls! I have to say- the interior decorating- bright lime green accent wall, fabulous white/ silver sofa, gorgeous mirrors, pristine and clean- great location-(Fro Yo next door even!) funny and inviting staff- (Gracie and Gabriel)...it does not get better than this! I was blown away! I was wearing very itchy and less than desireable contacts for the past two years- (My last doctor shall remain nameless, but he was courtesy of Wallmart Optical) he well- had me in the wrong perscription! And Dr. Dirksen was beyond knowledgeable and courteous, and professional and immediately put me into a pair of contacts that are so deliciously clear- I can see now! He was so accomedating and fantastic- not only was he friendly and well mannered and professional, he really understood what prescription I needed - and I have very poor eyesight. Unfortunately he was not very friendly and tried to force me in to ordering stuff I politely declined but then felt uncomfortable afterwards for declining. I started seeing a dark spot in my left eye and things got a little blurry. My friends said get to a Dr ASAP...it may be a detached retina that requires surgery. I was so thankful to get in to see Dr Rob the same day. He preformed many tests and was able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong within minutes. He said no surgery was required for my condition. I found this place by mistake. Ended up yelping and seeing all the reviews so I thought I would give them a try and I am sooo very happy I did. From the second I walked in the gentleman at the counter greeted me right away, got my paperwork started and before I knew it I was in with the dr. The Dr. Was extremely nice, went over what he was doing and quick with the process. As we all know In LA time is everything. The gentleman at the front then showed me what my insurance covered and then showed me glasses my insurance would cover all of but of course I wanted name brand. Dr. Dirksen is great. He's knowledgable, nice, and he gets you through the generally annoying eye chart process pretty quickly. The people who work here are very helpful and they get you in and out with new fashionable, affordable glasses quickly as well. They were also patient with me since it took me 2 days to choose my final pair of glasses, and of course, I ended up with the original pair the doctor suggested in the first place. I found LA Optometric through my vision insurance (VSP) and am glad I did. Dr. Dirksen was really easy to talk to and did a great job explaining my horrible eyes to me! The staff was also amazing and super helpful. There was a Ray Ban frame I really wanted and they were able to order it for me. They also price match contacts so that was an added bonus as well! Everyone was very laid back, friendly and engaging. I didn't feel pressured or like they were trying to force products on me (which happened at the last place I got glasses at).
